New Lives for Old

Curious and Curious

Jesus is King of Kings and Lord of Lords. He made this place. And is the Creator of all creation. This is true. If a man builds a house we give him credit for it. If we live in that house we never forget his generous gift. And we honor him as the owner of the house. If that man feeds us also, our honor would double. If he gives us everything we need, how is it possible to honor him enough.

But where is the Creator mentioned in the mainstream blogs of the day? Where is the honor due Jesus today? Search the top stories on the net. Where is Jesus, our God, King, Savior, and Provider? Curious. What do you think He will say when all is done? What will you reply?

The Play Ground

Children laugh and play without a thought to maturity. Swings obey gravity. Parents keep a watchful eye. Dogs chase whatever’s thrown. A couple argues on a park bench a bit removed. Police cruise the streets like wasps after food. The day is long and night is silent. All things continue as though there’s no time.

But in the midst are fears and reality. Bills to pay. Stuff to learn. Things to do. Babies to feed. Crimes to solve. People to blame. Crap to buy. And bling to own. Then the sky splits and God appears.

Who was watching? Who is ready?

The Game is “Afoot”.

The Tea Party is being labeled racist by the AFLCIO. Obama and his staff are labeling Al qeada as racist. If I enter the game for a moment and consider the possibilities of a tie between the two I find a possible trend here. If we label conservatives as racist and label our number one national enemy as racist, then I can prosecute the conservatives as the number one enemy. It’s simple algebra.

The Holy word of God says, “For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.” And we also read: “Do not call conspiracy everything that these people call conspiracy; do not fear what they fear, and do not dread it.” But lets not forget who we’re fighting.

Our enemy has been around a long time. We think of other people as the enemy. But they are either serving the Lord of Glory (which means we are in danger of labeling God as our enemy), or they serve the prince of the power of air (which means we are fighting the battle of the Lord of Glory). But when it comes to the happenings in this world how do we know which is which? The world will be destroyed. God promised that and I believe it. But how will it happen? If there is to be a battle on earth and there is to be great suffering when the bowls of God’s wrath are poured out, how do I know where such things begin?

I must confess. Like anyone else, I enjoy a good mind game. But we must make room for the Lord’s wrath. Go ahead and watch the proceedings with interest. And perhaps you’re allowed to speculate what is going on in this chaos. Be careful, however, not to judge others according to your own mind.

When it all comes down, Christians will suffer. This is a sure fact. But it is our duty to suffer for the Glory of our Lord. I do not fear the insane happenings of the day. I expect them. As I lean into a strong wind so that it will not blow me over, so I will lean into the present wind of wickedness. What seems foolish may well be the plots of evil preparing to set itself against the people of Christ.
