Depression

I read many blogs from people who are depressed.  Some are considered clinical in their depression.  To all who suffer with depression I have a note:

I too suffered a great period of depression.  Death and self torture were part of my every waking moment.  So why am I able to cope without all that now?  I often read their blogs and consider what made the difference.  I know it was Jesus who lifted me out of that sink hole.  But if I tell that to you, you think to yourself, “He just doesn’t understand.  He’s just another one of those questionably helpful sort”.

If telling you what Jesus has done for me would help, I’d spend all my time writing.   But I know it won’t help many who are still in it.  I can’t help you.  The medication won’t take it away, it only reduces the symptoms.  Jesus is the answer you’re looking for.  But I can’t make you believe that.   And certainly, the doctors and even the entire world won’t tell you Jesus is the answer.  So why believe me?  Because I testify that He does help the helpless!

“You will seek me and find me when you look for me with all your heart, and I will be found by you”.  Right now you have nothing.  What have you got to lose by seeking for His help with all your heart?

Egypt, Snow, Sea, Headlights.

Screaming down a two lane road in a snow storm.  The road’s edge has melted into white.  Powder rushes like water across the road, causing it to look like the road is moving left.  Headlights blind through tiny wisps of visibility.  And I’ve got my hands on 60,000 pounds of steel and rubber.

The Lord brought me through without hardly a mentionable experience.  Thus it is for me, by His Grace.  But I thought of the Israelites being chased by the Egyptians.  Certain death was closing in.  The sand drifting all over their bodies and getting into their belongings.  Now the Sea blocks them in.  LOST!  “It would have been better if we had died in Egypt.”

But if they hadn’t left that place, they would never walked on the bottom of the sea.  If I had taken the freeway, I would never have experienced His powerful hand guiding me through the snow.

Today is Your Day

Today you are allowed to be anything you want to be.  Today, the Lord allows that all men can pursue any sin they please.  Today, you can commit murder if you please.  Today, you can hate your brother or sister human if that is what you please to do.  Today, you can steal that small item from work.  Today, you can say what you want about anything.  Today, you can break any law you wish.  Today belongs to man.

But there is coming a day where all choice to sin will cease.  That day is upon everyone who obeys Jesus in the Spirit of God.  Even though there are many who claim to belong to Jesus and continue in their sins.  But come your death or the rapture of the Church, all sin will cease.  Those who love wickedness will cease with wickedness.  And those who love righteousness will live with He who is righteous.

Today is your day.  But today is also a day of choice.  Jesus offers freedom from the bondage of sin.  Ya gonna take it?

Preface

Do the people who have hold of eternity dare keep quiet?  We all live and breathe together here with billions who will surely die the second death.  I’m not saying this to put a guilt trip on anyone.  I’m just stating a fact.

What the Lord has created through me is a bag of seeds.  Consider me a reaper of seeds from the throne of God.  I encourage the distribution of this crop.

“A farmer went out to sow his seed. 4 As he was scattering the seed, some fell along the path, and the birds came and ate it up. 5 Some fell on rocky places, where it did not have much soil. It sprang up quickly, because the soil was shallow. 6 But when the sun came up, the plants were scorched, and they withered because they had no root. 7 Other seed fell among thorns, which grew up and choked the plants. 8 Still other seed fell on good soil, where it produced a crop—a hundred, sixty or thirty times what was sown. 9 Whoever has ears, let them hear.”  (Matthew 13)

I’ve written many things in this blog.  Why?  I write that the children of God might find strength.  I write that the ungodly might consider their plight.  I write to look at what I believe and why.  But most of all, this blog has been a source of Glory for the One who has saved me from that second death.

Jesus is the reason for this blog.  There were many posts which had to be removed because I let my own critical spirit leak out.  But all things you will find here bring Glory to the Father through Jesus, His Son.

May God bless you for His name sake as you read.

By His Grace.
