Lost

What is to become of the sinner who knows better;

The one, who though warned, continued to sin.

Lost among men from a self-made guilt.

Lost before God for the self-same prison.

Lost in himself for the folly of thought.

Lost in this world because of what his hand has wrought.

Lost for eternity in a shroud of despair.

And all of this becomes simply because he didn’t care.

Lost!

Speak Now, or Your Children’s Children Will be Silenced.

In response to a lament of the current state of affairs in the world, I responded, “Nothing is ever won by a defensive posture.  Winning requires an aggressive offense.  The more Christians speak up, the less room for the anti-Christian values to prosper.”

Perhaps you think you can’t talk about Jesus in public.  And perhaps you’re right.  Perhaps you know so little that you can’t really add much to the debate between wickedness and godliness.  But consider this:  Every day millions of words are being written and spoken against Jesus and His perfect values among His people.  And every time another word is uttered against Him, space is taken from Christians to speak of what is true.

With this in mind, I think it’s clear that if we don’t speak “something”, we are losing ground.  In the end, we will become the hunted.  Though this might be the case regardless how we go on the offensive, we still live in a free society.  You didn’t inherit this place of freedom of speech from those who kept silent in the face of opposition.  Your grand children will not inherit a free society if you keep silent.  What you hold dear is being undermined by those who would be quite happy to see you simply disappear (regardless the method).

Either speak now, or keep silent when your rights are taken away.  Do you really think evil will allow you to worship Jesus when they finally take over all the power structures of this world?  Surely you’re not that blind to their agendas.

You don’t have to be a “Know-it-All” when it comes to Christianity.  All you need to start doing is mentioning the name of Jesus, virtually everywhere you speak.  The first few times are difficult to muster the strength to utter.  But soon, you’ll find speaking of Jesus comes naturally and easily.  If you can’t speak of Christianity, out of whatever keeps you back now, at least link to it on your facebook page or blog.  And if you don’t use either of those, simply refer to Christian authors often (such as C. S. Lewis, The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe.  Or perhaps John Bunyan’s “Pilgrims Progress.)

Speak up folks.  The time for offense is nearing an end.  Personally, I know it’s an opinion, I think we have less than 5 years left to make a dent in the way this world is headed.  My life is full of things that others can attack.  I have not led a godly life very much.  Yet, I will still speak of Jesus, for the sake of His Holy Name and His people.

By His Grace.

NEWS FLASH!!!!!!!!!!!!!

NEWS FLASH:

The general voting public will not affect the corruption in Washington.  The vote of even 4 million people will not compare to the money, power, and prestige that can be gained by wearing the title of government.  And so, as long as power can be gained by being “voted” into office, corruption will reign supreme.

Was this really a news flash?  Don’t we all know this to be true?  Though we wail and moan, gripe and complain, about the corruption of power in Washington, we will never be able to stop it.  Let’s set this as a mark in the sand:  Men are corrupt from birth.  Perfect power corrupts perfectly.  And any measure of power a man holds over another is quite possibly as corrupt as the measure of power he is able to assert.

Intelligent?

While men look for intelligent life on other planets, they have failed to notice something of importance here.  Intelligence, as man defines it, is severely lacking among men here.  While they think themselves smart regarding the things of this world, they are severely lacking in the intelligence of God.

Man can build many things from the dust of this planet.  And he thinks that by this ability he is intelligent.  But God is not like man that He should be regarded as man.  His ways are not our ways.  And His purity is far above any man’s purity.

If I suggest that man should abandon this insane whirlwind of invention and return to the simple life of living under the guidance of God’s hand, I would be considered a mentally unstable fool.  Or worse, they would consider me a terrorist today.  That any man should abandon this furious grabbing for what is yet ahead in the way of invention and the glorification of the work of man’s hand.  Who do you know that would consider a return to camp fires and tents a good thing for man today?

Yet isn’t this what God has prophesied?  Hasn’t God said this:

17 The horses and riders I saw in my vision looked like this: Their breastplates were fiery red, dark blue, and yellow as sulfur. The heads of the horses resembled the heads of lions, and out of their mouths came fire, smoke and sulfur. 18 A third of mankind was killed by the three plagues of fire, smoke and sulfur that came out of their mouths. 19The power of the horses was in their mouths and in their tails; for their tails were like snakes, having heads with which they inflict injury.

I will desire the will of God, despite the flesh within me which desires the things of man.  Though I stumble like a blind man with this burden of foolish flesh, I will speak before the Throne of God according to His Holy Will.

You desire all things man, O man of this world.  But you deny the Holy God His Holy will.  There is coming two days of certainty:  A day when men will gather to do war against Jesus.  And a place where God will gather all men to do war against man’s sins.  Be wise and consider this with all gravity.  For all men will give account of their ways before Him who is the same forever.  Though man will not return to camp fires and tents, might some at least return to searching for the will of God the Father?  It is not possible to stop man from reaching for everything his greedy hands can grasp.  But can we at least return to a grasping for the Holy Will of God?

By His Grace.

What If?

Let us play a game called “What If.”  In this game I speak of things and we both get to consider the value of them as if they were true.

What if there really is a purple cow who flies?  What value would finding such an animal be?  Yet, what serious value would there be in that cow?  It would surely still be just a cow.  And after a short time, the people would simply regard that cow as just a cow.  The sensationalism would last a whole, what?  Maybe a year?  Life has far too many things going on to allow a purple cow to interrupt our lives for very long.  Moms would begin to say, “yea yea.  The cow…….”.  Business would simply move on after a short while.  People need certain things and the cow would take a back seat to the assembly line in rather short order (no pun intended).  You still need to get to ……. done.  Sleep comes on us sooner or later.  And the cow is simply a weird creature of the day.  Us weirdos (for isn’t the nature of man more weird than a purple cow?) would continue on our way will little mention of that animal within 2 years.  There would be a lot of money change hands over that animal.  But that’s about all it amounts to.

Another “What if”: What if someone would find a way to travel to the farthest star in the universe, gather a few samples, snap a few pictures from his heat resistant camera, and come back to earth.  What value would there be in that?  After a few short moments of time, his accomplishment would be reduced to valueless trivia.  Earth holds enough demands on us to cause his great feat to be reduced to nothing over time.  Just like the cow, soon enough, we would hear, “So what.”

And how about this “What if?”  What if all the people of the earth were able to speak to each other without using external means?  By using their minds they learned to speak with those minds.  Our ears would no longer be useful, for everything could be understood by the mind.  And so it would be for every other part of our bodies.  What value would it be?  We would be locked into a world of vile thoughts.  Every man speaking to everyone else all the things we currently keep hidden behind our skin.  Perhaps we would “hear” someone say, “I sure wish I had a piece of that star in my basement.”  Or we are sure to hear a woman say, “I wish he were my husband!  I would gladly get rid of this do nothing guy in a heart beat!  Why, just look at how resourceful the star dude is!”  So much for world peace.

Speaking of world peace, do you honestly believe you can cause the world to live in peace?  Surely you’re not that stupid.  Here, let’s consider that “what if.”  What if the liberal thinkers (Those who peace-meal the truth) were able to bring about world peace?  What would that look like?  And how might it be accomplished?  And how long can that possibly last?  As soon as there appeared one man, or woman (remember star dude?), who wanted something someone else had, that peace would be shattered with escalating hatred, envy, war, murder, and chaos of every kind.  No, this “what if” is kind of a useless striving.  I would suggest that within 2 minutes there would be an outbreak of some kind of evil somewhere.  You might achieve a two second peace in each time zone.  But that’s all you’re gonna get.  World peace is not very likely, so it’s a very valueless “What if”.  But hey!  Don’t get depressed!  This is only a game.  Or is it?

One more:

What if God really did see everything on earth and heaven as if in pure daylight?  After all the Bible says that nothing is hidden from His sight.  Yeah.  What if?  If you’re playing this game with me, I take it you are already aware of the implications of that “What If”.  But have you left those implications somewhere and can’t seem to find them?  Wow!  This is an invention we could use:  RonKo’s Implication Finder.  But wait!  There’s more!  (Cool digression huh?)

Every thought laid bare, every action noticed, every word spoken is recorded forever, every attitude is stamped and written down.  What you looked at is remembered, what you didn’t do (and should have) is noticed.  The lack of your personal righteousness is blazingly apparent.  And this is true of every man, woman, and child who has ever lived.  Ok.  This one has some interesting value.  This one might even last a while, eternity perhaps?

Those who say there is no God, are being recorded even as they speak those words.  Everyone who worships the things of this world is being marked as such.  Everyone who calls on the name of Jesus, either with their lips or heart, is heard.  For everything we do, say, and think is laid bare before the eyes of Him to whom we must give account.  And we will give account.

This “What If” holds a whole lot of water.  Doesn’t it.  If this is true, then nothing will diminish its power over men.  If this is true, we are compelled to consider our ways.  Unlike the cow or the communication thingy, star dust, or even world peace, this “What If” holds power over our very souls.  This one reaches down into our inward parts, dividing between life from death 24/7.  This “What If” is seriously worth considering.  Because if it’s true, we’re all in very serious trouble.  Thus the Gospel of Jesus, the Christ of God.  What if?

What if you’re on the very edge of meeting the Holy God of heaven and earth?  Your death is only a matter of time.  It is coming at you fast, silent, and sure.  What if He has already met you here?  What if He has been watching you from the very first contact between sperm and egg?  What then?

This “What If” is far more likely than anything else man can imagine.  Bottom line folks:  It is far more likely that God exists, then for any other invention of man’s mind to become eternally valuable (not to mention real).  Since the odds are in His favor (as opposed to the imagination of man) then everything in the Bible is quite possibly true also.  Why is it that we can imagine all kinds of trivial crap yet give no consideration to the validity of the Word of God?  And if these things written are true, then our reluctance to read and practice them will stand against us more heavily than being crushed by an errant sky scraper.  (Errant, because it’s suppose to stand up on its base.  And you’re suppose to be able to walk up its steps, sit at your desk, and imagine all kinds of ridiculous garbage about life.)  But in this analogy, it seems to be resting on your fragile lil bod.)  And there will be absolutely no excuse, either given or received.  Give it some thought.
