What is it like when a man builds his own crop and calls it a crop of the Lord?  What comparison can there be that some may understand and turn away from this wicked behavior?

It is like a farmer who goes out in the spring to plant.  But in a month’s time he looks out on his field and sees only small plants.  So the farmer goes to his barn and gathers old leaves and paper.  He makes what appear to be mature plants.  During the night he goes out to his field to push these fake plants into the ground.

His labor is worthless.  His behavior is folly!   Yet isn’t this what millions have done?   They entertain the masses so they can fill their halls with bodies.   They conjure up a gospel that is no gospel at all.  They brag of their accomplishments that they may entice men into their fold.  They prey on the pride of man with the pride of their own wicked hearts.

And why is all this done?  Why do they choose vanity?   It is done for shame.  The pride of man sees his lack so he turns to folly instead of the Lord.  Thus he multiplies his folly as he has multiplied his crop.

Each man’s work will be tested.  If the Lord has not built it will be destroyed.  They produce folly here, they will have produced folly there. At the presenting of gifts what will they present?   Fake plants?  Their gains will amount to nothing.
