Wisdom says

It’s wiser to stop and catch the breeze from heaven then to run headlong toward the stench of hell.

A lot of people think, “How stupidly obvious”.  But how many of those have actually stoped they’re greedy pursuit to search for the Lord God Almighty?

Special People?

To Own Eternity

Lord, everything I have in this world comes at a very steep price.  Every material possession drags down the soul.  Even if the only thing I owned was a single set of clothing, I would find myself concerned about getting it soiled or causing a tear.

But owning your promise requires no effort on my behalf.  In this belief is endless peace and joy.  And to tell the story of You is joy in itself.

So I offer you everything I have, to take it and use it as You please; to discard or enhance.  Only let me witness on Your behalf.  Only let me testify to the beauty of my God.

For there is life in the testimony.  There is joy in the witness.  And if by chance You cause fruit, all the more.

By your Holy Grace in Jesus I pray.  amen

Hang Em High

In the movie “Hang Em High”  we are introduced to a rather ugly little man.  He’s sweaty, lacks wisdom, has little self control, and is fully worthy of being hanged by the kneck until dead.  But there is something about him that is highly admirable.  He’s not afraid to tell it like it is, even in the face of death.

The man has nothing useful to offer the world.  This mention of him in my blog may well be the only write up he ever gets.  Even the actor who played this man seems to live in obscurity.  But he gives us the most valuable lesson possible.  He confesses his sins to us all without skipping a word.  Then, without shame, he recounts the judgment he is about to go endure.  All the other characters ignore the law of God as if it did not exist.  But this “little man” rises above them all in his last moments among us.

I know it’s just a movie.  But movies portray life among those who are intended to purchase the seats to watch.  I do hope the readers of this post aren’t too “thick”  as to miss that point.

Speaking of points, what’s the point of this post?  Simply this:

I don’t care who you are,  what you’ve done, who knows (or doesn’t), how old you are, where you live, or what power you have in this world.  The knowledge of judgment is stamped into your soul.  You know full well that you will need to give answer to the One who made you.  Somewhere in that grey mush we call “brain”, we know this life is no dress rehearsal.

We may hate that man on the gallows, but at least he was not afraid to tell us like we all know it is.  How would your life change if you began to grapple openly with the coming judgment?   Besides your greedy desire for peace, what do you stand to loose that The Lord of Life isnt willing and able to repay 1000 fold?

By His Grace.
