The curtain

“I will not go!”  the man protested.  He scurried about being busy left then right then back.  if he could go up he would go up.  If he could go down he would go down.

All the while his silent and invisible legs move toward the curtain.  That promised curtain of certainty which is generally avoided by all men.  If it is spoken about it is usually with bravado.  All the while their soul is filled with terror at the prospect.

Facelift, new clothes, social accomplishment, proficiency and status among men.  Too often these things take precedence over the great reality of realities.

Every man must die.  Regardless our willingness to accept it, we all know a judgment is coming.  It is far better to seek terms of peace; “The surrender” is what is called for.  The sanity of truth provides what the flesh will not.

The Lord is willing to embrace any man who asks.  And in the surrender we find victory and peace.  “Forsake the folly of Lies.  I promise you life beyond the curtain.  I cannot lie and I am able to produce my promise.  Come now let us reason together.  Though your sins be like Scarlett they shall become white as wool.”
