Place the flame of the candle next to the Sun.

Place a grain of sand next to the earth.

Consider the wisdom of a worm as opposed to an old wise man.

Hold up a blade of grass against the night sky.  Let the stars teach you about age.

What is man that he should presume to know more than God?

Will the wisest among us unravel the simplest of mysteries?

Who among men is sure he will live to ten thousand years inside this bag of blood?  120 is the limit imposed.

Cultivate respect for the Lord.  Even allow fear to reside.  We are but feeble even in the flash of our life. 

We wake in the morning with grand plans.  Yet by half a rotation of the earth we are spent, weak and exhausted.

Wisdom, therefore, fears the Lord.  When our best is counted, it adds up to nothing.

Wisdom fears the Lord.
