The craving

Come alongside the Lord Jesus.  Come and learn to abhor the flesh.  Come near and let him show you how wicked wickedness can be.

“You see how to flesh writhes in pain because it cannot have what it wants.  Take note of how it gloats over the tiniest advantage.  Do you perceive the end of its desire?  It wants to be God.  How can that be an acceptable garment to wear when you appear before the Most High God?

How can the flesh restrain the flesh? Though it might perceive it’s folly it has no strength to endure transformation. And how should it know its fault unless someone were to tell it.

Answer this if you can. If the flesh is incapable of righteous behavior and despises any attempt to teach, how is it that any souls are saved?”

The Hill of God’s Choosing

Holy Father, you do not lie.  And your Holy Son has sealed your promise, to forgive sins, with His Holy blood.  We confess, we have stood in doubt.

I will speak for myself for a moment, Lord.  May the same fruit be found in those who read these words.  But no command can produce the holy fruit You seek.

I ask You to set me apart from this wicked world.  Set me on a hill, that all I am might belong to You.  May the hill You choose be tall and remote, lest my ears hear their wicked celebration of unholy acts.  May my eyes not witness their glorification of fleshly lust from that place You choose.  May my nose not catch drift of the putrid perfumes they use to entice.  Yet, may my heart ache for them to join me there.

You are God!  May Your Holy and Majestic will be done forever!  By the everlasting precious blood of Your Holy Son Jesus, I submit these words.  Amen.

Proverbs 26

13A sluggard says, “There’s a lion in the road,
a fierce lion roaming the streets!”
14As a door turns on its hinges,
so a sluggard turns on his bed.

Fear.  It is not a part of the garb we are given by the holy Lord of life.  But the lazy servant will resort to fear.  He does not trust.  But his Lord demands that he trust.  Therefore he is lazy in his fear.

Be afraid.  But do not let your fear cause you to return to your bed.  Be afraid as you are assaulted. But do not run back to the safety of your bed.  Command your flesh to obey His will.  It is only your reasonable service.

Let us confound the world by a display of confidence.  We are held by the Everlasting God.  Where is that testimony among the Lord’s people today?

Fashion wear worry

Worry is fashionable.  The proof is found in laughter.  “He worries all the time about everything.”  And those who hear it chuckle.

Man is wicked beyond his redemption.  It is impossible that his own hand should save him.  For even in the case of worry we have sinned against the Most High God.

We have heard Him say He will take care of us.  But we have made it fashionable, even humorous, to disobey and called him a liar.

Look how your eyes widen as you hear me speak these words.  As quickly as your mind can possibly work you search for defense.  To a man you may defend yourself.   But how shall a you rally defense against these words?

Do not worry for the Lord is Lord of all.  When we admit our worry the world gets to see that he is not the Lord of us.  So we not only call him a liar we drag him through the mud before all men.

Where is your strength of faith?   It is better to be prepared to lose then to be so focused on gains that we worry the Lord will not provide.  Show me if you can where Jesus was caught worrying.  He did not call His father a liar nor did He drag The Holy One’s fame through the mud before men.  The Lord Jesus was willing to trust even to the point of exceedingly great beating and death on a cross.
