Autumn breeze

Many men say they will do certain things in certain places.  They often speak largely of their ability.  But God will test the heart.  Unfortunately, many a man’s word will come to nothing more than a puff of autumn breeze.

Just a tiny puff of breeze to stir up what is dead.

Be bold

Every time I spend with the Lord in prayer I notice something different.  Perhaps I see something I did not notice before.  Perhaps something I noticed before becomes prominent and powerful.  Perhaps something I noticed before that was powerful and prominent becomes small in light of a new revelation.

But I noticed this morning, as I prayed my mind became quickened.  The words flowed from my mouth almost automatically.  There was no stuttering or pause.  And there was no fault in the flow.

This leads me to an understanding.  The Lord wants to reach every man with the gospel.  There is no singular source among men by which the gospel reaches all.  Rather he uses every one of his people to promote what is true.

I notice a lot of Christians.  But few of them allow their mouths to be used on a regular basis.  The Lord did not call us to be afraid and timid.  He called us to be bold and unafraid.

Where does the strength come from to be bold and unafraid?  It comes from allowing ourselves to be ushered into the Throne Room of the Most High God.  The peace we receive from Him gives us great strength and concentration.  How can one be afraid of anything when he has been in the presence of God?

So I urge my brothers and sisters to consider this.  You are the only one who can reach those you know.  Your words, presented with boldness, maybe the only gospel they ever hear.

Loss

They capitulated with the enemy.  For the sake of warm flesh they spurned  the living God.  For the sake of 30 pieces of silver they closed their ears and eyes.  If they knew of God they closed their mouth lest what they had should be taken away.

What is warm today will rot tomorrow.  What sparkles in the sunlight will rust and decay.   See how poverty stricken you have become.  You will gain for yourself but you will not own God.

Here comes eternity,  look and see!   The place where neither flesh nor gold exists is approaching at the blinding speed.  Where is yesterday?  Reach back, if you can, and lay hold of it.  Yet tomorrow will come and lay hold of you.

They have set their hopes and joys on what will fall away at the advent of God’s presence.  Today is the day of salvation and testing.  It is not the day to amass to yourself.  On the day he appears he will give what he desires and each one will receive.  Ready or not here he comes.

Writing I wrote

I wrote because I was amazed at the gospel.

I wrote to remember what I learned and to pass it on.

I wrote to share what I had learned.

I wrote in anger that they rejected what I wrote.

I wrote to fight against them.

I wrote to answer questions.

I wrote to fellowship and to pray.

But no one today cares anymore then the first day when I began to write.

So now I write to write.  I am sure this too will offend them.

Why?

Technological advances dawned among men some 300 years ago.  The world had not seen such things appear before then.   Why?

I also take note that these advances came to the countries which made some embrace of Christianity.   They did not come from lands under the dominion of other religions.  Why?

I marvel at how completely immersed man has become in this technology.   God has become nothing compared to a big screen tv.  No one asks for or considers healing from God.  The enticements of sexual immorality seep into everything that had been good.  And no one notices.  In fact they applaud sexual enticements of every sort.

Why has it become this way in these days?  Why does no one ask?  It has become obscene to bring up these things.  Why?

The last days have come upon man.  And he embraces them like a child does his mother.  You say you would not take the mark of the beast.  How can you say that when you take everything else he offers?

Run to Jesus to learn what you don’t know.  Beg for mercy from Him.  Only He can open your eyes.  Only Jesus can pull you loose from satan’s ploys.  If you scoff at these things, it is proof that you do not have the eyes of a Christian.  Think about it.

Your Post

What would you do if you were commanded to live in a house atop a hill just outside the city?  In the house is nothing more than a bed and fire pit.  No one comes to visit.  And the command restrains you from going into the city.  Every day food is supplied so that there is no need to leave your post.

The road that goes by your hill is filled with travelers.  You are commanded to spend your days preaching to them.  They are not so far away that they can’t hear you.  But none will venture to ascend your hill.  What would you do?  Will you obey and remain?  Or will you abandon your God granted post?

Patience.  Honorable service.  Dedication to God’s sovereignty.   Faith.  And a distinct lack of personal glory and honor are yours all your days.  What will you do?

Isn’t this what we are called to do?  We are to ascend to our place near the Lord.  From there we are commanded to proclaim regardless the response.  Can you count the number of us who have gone into the city?  How many of those tiny houses contain artifacts of man?   How did they get there?   The Lord did not put them there, nor did He have them delivered.
