Out of the box and hard to find

Over the centuries the church has gotten pretty good at telling us what the Lord will do.  And they’ve gotten fairly good at telling us what we should do.  In a way they have put the Lord Jesus in a very large box.  And they have said in many ways  “Thus far he shall go and no more.”

By placing the Lord in a box, they have strived to do the same thing with all people.  But I have witnessed a most wonderful thing.  I am finding strong believers in the Lord Jesus outside of the Established Church.

I have no idea what the church is supposed to do about this.  The Lord and His people have escaped their box!   Its not like they can tell everybody they were wrong.  So they keep writing answers to a problem they can’t define.

I do see one beautiful aspect of this that may be missed by many.  When a persecution  breaks out against the Lord’s people,  there will be a whole lot of Christians unaccounted for.  The enemy will go for the Established Church,  only to find it relatively empty.  The enemy may conclude that Christians are few in number.

I am sure the greater Minds then mine are capable of drawing better inferences.  But this satisfies my curiosity as to why the Lord has broken out of the Established Church’s box.

The real Saint Nicholas? Really?

Did you ever notice there is no movie about the beginning of Santa Claus.  Well maybe there’s a Christian documentary someplace.

In order to show the beginnings of Santa Claus they have to go back to St Nicholas.  If he really did exist, then we were talking about a man who worshiped the Lord Jesus.

Such a movie would take away from the power and mystery of the fictional character Santa Claus.  Such a movie would render a lie down to a humble servant of the Most High God.   This humble servant would have gotten old and died just like every other man.

So in the interest of lying to our children,  maintaining the status quo,  filling the cash register, and making a mockery of the Christ and His people,  Santa Claus sticks like super glue.  And you won’t see Hollywood make a truthful movie of Saint Nicholas.

Don’t Quit Asking

To those who doubt God’s willingness to be patient with them.  Consider your salvation from his perspective, for just a moment.

How long do you expect to live on this earth?  Perhaps 10 to 50 years?  So all you’re asking God to do is be patient with a fool for 10 to 50 years more.  Is that right?

So if he is patient for 50 years more and you do not succeed in obeying  his will you ask only 50 years of God’s patience.  This is no great loss at all for “He who never dies”.  But if by His patience you learn to obey Him, who loses?

Isn’t this why the Lord Jesus taught us to pray and never give up.  What hope is there for he who gives up?  Yet the potential of winning everything is there to the very last second!
