Valid Optimism?

There is an optimistic hope among Christians.  Many say that history proves, when times get evil humanity turns to God.  That can be proven with even an overview of history.

But in every place of history, the people still had a reverence for God.  What ever variety gods came in, the people held tightly to their beliefs.  At some point the people had enough and turned away from emptiness.

Why do I think today is different?
1. The young people are raised to question even the existence of God.
2. Technology takes the place of independent thinking.
3. Responsible behavior is being eroded by a variety of welfare mentalities.
4. Superstition has become a multi billion dollar corporation (worldwide).
5. Vanity has become the primary motivation of nearly every man, woman and child.
6. Trivia has replaced an educated perspective of history.
7. Immorality has not only become the norm, it is an expected behavior.
8. Greed and aberrant behavior is beginning to find expressions that were previously unheard of.
9. Violence is rising in unprecedented mass.
10. I do not see the people searching for the living God.  I see them searching for peace. (no matter what that means)

These are only 10.  I suspect there’s a hundred subdivisions.  I suspect there’s geographical exclusions.  And I’m not positive that my assumptions are on the money.  But I think there’s enough reason to be rather pessimistic.

Wow!

Would you like to catch a glimpse of what the world will be like when the Spirit of God is taken from among Man?

Where are we on the timeline of God that such a thought should even have been given birth?

This reminds me of the rich man’s attitude in the story of the rich man and Lazarus.  Eternally clueless.

No Easy Task

Provoking thought of the “Day”:

At the risk of offending millions, (How is that a surprise from me?):
I do not need the counsel of people.  But I ABSOLUTELY need the counsel of God.

People’s advise may or may not be right.  God’s is never wrong.

But here’s where people often have difficulty.  They turn to people before they turn to God for the advise they need so desperately.  When we do that we’re likely to get a handful of opinion mixed in varying degrees with “truth”.  Isn’t that where gossip comes from?

And here’s the offence.  I have found that people don’t go to God for His advise, simply because it’s easier to ask someone else.  It’s so easy to rely on the things of this world.  It’s no easy task to trust in faith.

Duct Tape

No one does what he doesn’t know how to do.

Isn’t that the reason for duct tape?

The verse of the day from Bible Gateway is from Psalm 119.  “I will praise you with an upright heart as I learn your righteous laws.”

All I knew before His Law came to my ears was lie, cheat, manipulate, refuse, and disobey.  It was when His Holy Ways came to me that I learned to restrain my evil.

But I see man strive to do what he thinks is right, without looking into the Holy Law of God.  In the things of life, both in body and soul, I see men use duct tape to fix what it takes eternal Righteousness to fix.

No one makes his own duct tape.  He has to go to the store to get what he wants.

You know the next connection of thought.
