The Ultimatum

You can have our money.
You can have our games.  You can have our accolades.
We’ll even give you fame.

Just leave Jesus in the church where we can conveniently ignore him.

If you refuse we will conveniently ignore you.

(I don’t know if my words today are provoked because of sadness, frustration, or indignance.  My heart sees a potential.  But my eyes only see lukewarm.

The pathetic thing is, these words I’ve written will stay right where they are.  “. . . when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on the earth?“)

Pathetic Silence

It makes me sad to look about.
Our cities under siege.
The “dead” in homes,
Lives like drones,
Amazed at what they see.

The Devil comes and takes away.
No words are spoken.
No!

“No way!

If we speak,
He’ll take us too!
Then, tell us what we all should do.
We’ll leave it to the likes of you.”

The bully on the playground
Pounds and pounds and pounds.
Daring those who watch him work
To make a single sound.

Is this the life you want to lead?
Are shadows giving what you need?
Why can’t you see the pitiful plight
Of he one who bleeds and has no fight?

Be silent then!
Your days well spent,
Watching Death on your TV.
The challenge is there in front of you.
The challenge is up to you and me.

See how the gospel is hidden.
Even surely by those who know!
See how the evil one has risen.
Without striking a single blow.

Preventive Maintenance

He was up at the top of the ladder cleaning the gutters.  The ladder slipped sideways then twisted to the right.  Down he went, full speed.  Two stories down is a long way to fall.

He lay there with a broken arm, bruised leg, muscle spasms in his back, and a severe ache in his head.  Do you think he was wishing he had tied the ladder secure?

When you appear before the Holy Lord what will you be wishing you had done?  Why not do it now?

And when you come up with all your excuses, will they amount to anything on that day?

Wake-up Call

Jesus didn’t wake up my soul to be popular.  He woke me up to stand against the things I have done.  He woke me up to stand for the things that are his.  He woke me up to stand against the things that were about to destroy me forever.  He woke me up to, in some fashion, be crucified with him.

There is joy in the Holy Brotherhood of Christ.  Faithfully, he is teaching me to live in that Joy, that joy that surpasses all understanding of mere men.

Come, drink of the cup that is true life.  Approach the throne of the Living God in the name of Jesus.

Remain there.

The Man, the Predator

I’m not sure how to begin this post.  But I do know what I want to say.  I’m saying this from one man to all other men.  And I firmly believe I have the backing of my Lord Jesus.

See the beautiful woman, the one you found yourself lusting after.  You remember all the delicate wickedness you let roam around free in your mind.  You know what I’m talking about.

Put that aside and pull up a chair.  Let me show you what the Lord showed me.

In the beginning he made them male and female.  But this was the limit imposed on their bodies.  Their soul has no gender.

Death comes and the body is laid in the ground.  But the genderless soul goes to wait for the glorification of our God in Jesus.

What are we doing?  We are persecuting another soul.  We do damage to ourselves, this is beyond debate.  But let your heart consider the following:
They did not ask to be female.  They did not ask to be an object of lust.  They want love and acceptance and freedom to live as God intended them to be.  What right then do you have to destroy their desire?

I speak of these things from their perspective.  Every beautiful woman has a man close behind her.  She doesn’t have to guess.  She doesn’t have to turn around.  Can you imagine the feeling of being watched by a predator everyday of your life?  Who are you to inflict such fear on another?

I do not need to speak to you about the judgment to come.  That place where every man will give account for what he has done in the body.  I speak to you as a fellow man.  Curb your lust!  Stop being full of murder.

What are we lookin at?

Don’t look at the bum.  Look at the man.  Look past his position in society.  Look past the dirt and a shame.  Look past the isolation.  Look past the potential violence.  See the child who desires love.

Don’t look at the Fashion, pretty hair, makeup and elegance.  Look at the woman.  See the precious little girl she still is.  See how she is caught up in what she was taught; the lie of seduction.  Help her see that what she has learned is not helpful; love her as a soul.

Don’t look at the flashing smile, rehearsed gestures, pretty words and promises.  Look at the man who says he’s a politician.  In his place, the tools of his trade are lies.  But he is still a little boy.

Don’t listen only to the religious words a man speaks.  Look at the man.  Full of misunderstandings, he strives to master the unknown.  Help him do so with you in mind.  Then, benefit comes to both.

Why do we refuse to judge rightly?  Why are we so lazy that we receive the veneer without thought?  Love is not that willingly blind.  Why do we refuse the eyes that God is so willing to give?

Help where we can.  Correct where we must.  In all things, let our minds be directed by the Holy will of God.  Then our judgments can stand the test.

Don’t look at your accomplishments, no matter if they’re religious or secular.  Look at the man and weep.  Yet do not judge before the appointed time.  Assess with the sobriety of Christ.  Leave room for Life.  Forever, you will be nothing more than a baby.

Judge all things with eternity in mind.

“THINK ETERNITY!”  Think love.  Do what it says!  Become the people you say you are.
