Chilli Perfecto

Praying for someone to become a Christian.

It’s like this:

You want to make a perfect pot of chilli  If you want to get the most out of your ingredients, you’ve got to let it cook for a long time.

Throw the stuff together with a lot of water.  Put it on slow burn, and be very patient.  Realize that every minute that ticks by , the chili gets better and better.

You have to watch out for it; you have to stir it quite often.  You don’t want any of it to burn in the bottom of the pan.

Prayers and the Lord’s work, in that person, need to be focused on perfection not speed.  And what good is it if you try to serve the chili too soon?  Have confidence.  It’ll taste great!

We have to realize that some people just don’t have enough ingredients to make a really large pot.  Some folks are only going to be able to make one bowl.  Some folks make a smorgasbord out of it.  The point is, great chili takes time.

Ticketmaster

There’s the curtain.  Dazzling red velvet.  It must be heavy, see how lazily it moves as they begin to open it, swaying like waves on the on the open ocean.  Something, something important, is about to happen!  And you, look!  You’re in your seat!

That’s what the dawn every day is.  Yesterday you purchased the ticket to watch the curtain draw back today.  And isn’t the show in full swing!

Take two steps to the side.  See your life from that perspective.  See, hear, smell, feel, that’s life!  And you’re here!

You are purchasing your ticket for tomorrow, right now.  And at the sum of your days, you will have purchased your ticket for eternity.  Where will you sit?  Will you even be present for the show?

The Eternal Ticketmaster is Jesus.  BELIEVE!

Honoring Our Parents

You couldn’t skip,
You silly dip.
The classroom was your life.

And all the lessons taught there-in,
Were so you could live it.
Right?

So where’s the teaching gone today?
When it’s needed most of all.

Sit down.
Remember if you can;
Those lessons taught
In hallowed Halls.

Indestructible!

Messed up!
So what?
Change it if you can.

Demolished dreams!
So it seems.
Is it more than you can stand?

Better to take the blows.
Those hateful, horrible woes.
Yeah, take it on the chin.
Let Your Life Begin Again!

The Great Expectation

Waiting for the baby;
The baby yet unborn.
The nursery,
White and glistening,
The future place of home.

Expectant siblings pace about,
Doing all they know to do.
Arms aching,
Ready,
Reaching out,
To embrace the likes of you.

Emerging like your brothers,
With joy,
You’re ushered in!
To spend forever
Dressed in white,
And loving none but him.

(For the children of the Lord)

SERIOUS

Stupid might be funny to watch.  But nobody likes it happens to them.  No, serious is the preferred lifestyle.  Stupid doesn’t seem to know this world is out to kill him.  Serious is better armed to defend his turf.

So we look for serious stuff.  We gather a bit here and a bit there.  And the guy goes about with a serious look on his face, thinking he has defended himself from all possible attack.

In your gatherings have you gathered SERIOUS?  I know you found it while you were looking around.  SERIOUS made this place.  SERIOUS it’s never worries when the storms assail.  SERIOUS has it all covered from before you were born to after you are gone.

When you stumbled across The SERIOUS, what was your reaction?  If you were like every other person who ever lived, you’d be better off to go and find it again.  Reassess its value.  Take as much of SERIOUS home with you as you can carry.

That’s my advice.
