The Bride

The new bride came home to her new home!

She said a quick “Thank you and I love you” to her new husband. Then she went about adoring the walls and furniture, ceiling and floor.

Not a problem you say. That was the last time she paid serious attention to her husband.

She would cook for him is if it were a duty. And all the other chores of a wife she carried out without fail. She would let her lips brush his four head, as if that were a substantial sign of love.

Her heart was so detached from him he might well have not been her husband at all.

But do not judge her for infidelity. There was no other man in her life. The problem is, there was no man in her life at all. Still he was faithful to keep her as his wife.

Does this draw a picture of your relationship with your husband Christ Jesus?

Freedom À la Violence

“Wherefore, if you see another sin openly or commit a serious crime, do not consider yourself better, for you do not know how long you can remain in good estate. All men are frail, but you must admit that none is more frail than yourself.” Thomas à Kempis

                          BE SOBER!

There is no one more vile than I. For no one is more adept at destroying the work of God than my selfish nature which lives within me.

No matter what knowledge I have concerning righteousness, my roommate called selfishness knows nothing, desires nothing, and can produce nothing on his own. At the base of things, he only knows how to play with mud.

What counsel is there in these things? I see this: be careful not to judge the sinners all around us. For with one touch of the love of God, anyone of them can out strip us with the doings of the Holy Spirit.   Despise the action, but be ready to embrace the actor.

The one to whom much is forgiven, the same will love much. The one who is released from the deepest and darkest of dungeons will love the open spaces more. He understands captivity, and now embraces freedom with a violence.

But the one who does not perceive his own wickedness, this one sees no need to praise. Righteous humility eludes him.

God has raised mighty men from the sewer in the past. Rest assured, he is doing so today.

Christian Superstitions

Countless people were crucified in the days of the Romans. The people of that day understood the meaning of a cross.

The cross without the living Christ is no different than a shadow.

The symbol itself has no power at all except to generate fear, superstition, and death.

It is the living Christ who provides life. Yes, the intangible and invisible glory of God. Do not think that evil has respect for any object on earth.

P. S. The same can be said of Mary, the apostles, and the Saints.

What is the shape of your God?

When “Impossible” Arrives

The Lord will move a mountain for the one who is ever thirsty.

Though he is in the desert of deprivation, God will bring the streams of heaven to encompass his encampment.

Every day the man’s feet took him where he did not want to go, until the man thought he had no choice.

Every day the man cried out for help.

—–

The Lord has heard his prayer.

With the strength of his great sacrifice, the mountain is moved to the man.

“This far you shall come and no more. See, I have set a restraining upon you; as a man will halter horse, so I have blessed you with restraint.”

Victory comes when the man least expects.

Only let him continue to call for help.

Let him prove his desire to betray his own flesh.

Even as his flesh betrayed him.

God will move when the wisdom of heaven allows.

When his strength has arrived, all is well.

Now he worships like the 10th leper.

The impossible has come like warm clothing in the winter.

Believe and live.

The Definition of Beauty

It is not my clothing that makes me beautiful. It is not the most exquisite possession that makes me important. It is not the agility of my flesh or mind, nor formidable power of my heroic will.

It is that the will of God works in me to accomplish the will of God. This makes me eternally valuable and pristinely beautiful. Such beauty is not open for debate.

It is so with everyone of his people whom he himself has called.

Jesus is first. Jesus IS. Jesus forever will be: the beauty of God, the majesty of God, the preeminence of God, and Life.

Value what you will, nothing on earth or in the imagination of man, can compare to the Glory of the Living God’s Holy Son; The Lord of HIS glory – both in this place and forever sealed in HIS temple.

THIS IS BEAUTY DEFINED!

Ready or Not?

I am not speaking of the floor of your house, The dust on the sills, or your belongings scattered about. I will speak of your soul. I will speak of my soul.

How sweet would it be if “Someone” were to open your front door unannounced and walk in with blazing piercing eyes, finding nothing to judge or correct?

Disregard the things of this world in your house that are tossed about it a disorderly fashion. But look to your heart, your intent, your belief, your understanding, and your love for Jesus.

Are you confident that you will receive a smile? Isn’t it right that we should be prepared for such a visit? Doesn’t he have exclusive privilege to walk in on everyone of his servants whenever it pleases him to do so? And don’t we have an obligation to be prepared for the Master?
