Destructive Chemical

I learn something useful from the era of the Vietnam War.  Agent Orange was used to strip all the leaves in the rainforest.  It exposed the enemy within.

Nowadays they use a different agent.  Its color is green.  Its called politically correct.

Agent Orange killed off the usefulness of the rainforest.  Political correctness has denuded humanity of its useful ingredients.

The enemy within has been exposed.  And it’s only a matter of time before the trees are cut down.

Ya is where ya is

In heaven, we are told, there are the least and there are the greatest among us.  There are certainly thrones for the greatest to inhabit.  And of the lesser places the Lord has said nothing, at least to my knowledge.

But every time the Lord addresses the positions in heaven, we hear him speak of the great things a man of God must be.  And why would he not do this in an attempt to provoke us to the best possible servant.

But what if a man takes a look at himself and sees a distinct lack before the Lord?  What if that man, with sorrow, realizes he cannot make the greatest distance?  He takes stock of what he has, and confesses to the Lord that he is of the lesser.

Isn’t it like man to give up if he cannot have all he wants?  But I have come to understand of valuable lesson in these things.

As the Kingdom of Heaven moves forward in this place of testing, isn’t there enough work for even the least to be involved?  It’s good to shoot for the good stuff.  But not many have the wherewithal to make that distance. What then, is a “poor boy” to do?

We will all take our place in the Kingdom of Heaven according to the wisdom of God in Christ.  And what man can say what that is?  As C. S. Lewis had once said, “There will be surprises”.

So rather than to dwell on the things we cannot accomplish, perhaps we would better spend our time seeking out the fullness for our current place.  There is work to be done.  There are gifts of God to receive.  And wallowing in self-awareness is not a wise use of our potential.

You might not raise the dead.  You might not preach a sermon, whether good or bad.  Right now you might be praying like a man with his mouth stuffed full of nuts.  Ok fine.  “Where ya find yaseff is where ya is.”

Up and at it boys!  Daylight’s a-burnin.  Somebody’s gotta run the ranch.  Somebody’s gotta go punch the Cows (Not literally of course) .  Somebody has to mend the fences.  There’s cookin, and cleanin, and tendin to do.  So come on.  Get out of here!   Let’s get busy!

The Sun and My Teeth

The Sun comes up and the Sun Goes Down.

So do my teeth, but all around.

The Sun follows its path faithfully.

But my mouth seems to go wherever it please-s.

The Sun doesn’t gossip, it simply perform-s.

How I wish my mouth would establish that norm.

No Excuses

As much as man is capable of excellence in sin, he is also capable of excellent obedience in Christ Jesus.

Ever ready to rebel in his natural state, the God borne transformation lasts forever.

The excuse that we are only human, is like a boneless chicken; it just won’t fly very far.

Befuddled Buffoons

image

Does anybody remember this guy?  What a beautifully befuddled buffoon.  Of all the characters on Green Acres he was always my favorite.  Maybe that’s because I’m a lot like him.

I never was a seriously smart man.  And I was caught up in some kind of weird third dimension.  Every time I thought I knew what I was talking about, another tidbit of truth would cross my mind, leading me down some obscure path.  And people always had that pained look on their face when I talked.

The character, Hank Kimball, just had this beautiful way of questioning everything he ever said.  Truth was his worst enemy.  Or was it?  Actually, Hank was the only reliable one on the entire show.  You could always count on him for confusion.

It appeared like he didn’t know anything.  But he was full of information!  His only difficulty was, he couldn’t get past truth.

I have learned that the more intense our scrutiny of truth, the more debatable the things of this world become.  And at some point, for self-preservation, we sort of beg out of human encounters.   Conversation with others gets really uncomfortable.  Most folks don’t question what they say.  But I always did!

God’s truth has really settled into my heart.  So that finally, I’m pretty sure of what I believe.  But it wasn’t always that way.  And the memory of my fragile mind plagues me.  Frankly it’s about the only fear I have left.

This is why I’m not a public speaker.  This is why I love to write instead.  I might get excited about a post and upload it way too early, leaving all kinds of errors in spelling or punctuation, but at least I can be sure of my intent.

Are you a Hank Kimball?  Then why not settle on the truth of God?  The world is so full of contradictions.  By now I’m sure you’ve been driven near crazy.  But by prayer and Bible reading you can become very sure of what you know.

God is the perfect solution for every human being.  Even more so for the Hank Kimballs of this world.

QVC International

There are many products that you will never see advertised on the television.  The reason is basic; there is no market where saturation is evident.

Here is a short list of a few of such items:
Songlasses by “Ignorance”.
Hearing aids by “Common Trivia“.
Gloves by “Doulas Hands“.
Desire Perfume by “Greede Monger”.
Rubberized dentures by “Jabber Jaw” (a division of gossip international).

If the market is saturated there is no profit to be had.
