Zachariah chapter 7

If you ask The Lord a question, regardless how seemingly legitimate, are you able to understand the answer? If you understand the answer are you willing or able to give it room in your heart?

Does our will lean toward the will of the Living God in Jesus, or have we created our own religion full of self-sacrifice?

Are we then dis-heartened by God’s refusal to answer? Are we surprised that our religion of self-sacrifice is not acceptable before the Living God?

Consider the value of the sacrifice of Christ against anything you can do. Bottom line, who’s sacrifice is saving you?   Consider how far you intend to go.  Consider what your eternity looks like.  Consider what your version of paradise must be.

Here is a more poignant question: “Who then is your God”?

Right Now.

While the darkness is on the other side of the world, the Holy Lord is busily changing lives while men sleep.  He did it here last night. Were you aware?  Hundreds, if not thousands, woke up with a change in their heart.
We either stand with him or we stand apart from him.  Any day that falls upon you, you could make the choice to join him.  Speak well of the Holy Lord’s Holy and Righteous Son or speak no words at all.  Be useful or be useless. Doesn’t the choice belong to you?

Useless Women

What’s called an argument can have two meanings. One is a volatile debate between two people who are not willing to see eye to eye. No, this is a bad thing. The other can be referred to as a substantiation of something true. Yeah, that’s what I’m about to do.

The arguments for Christ are irrefutable. They can be denied, but that’s always at our loss. They can be taken wrong; that is to say, they can be taken personally as an offense. But that’s to misunderstand the entire purpose of such an argument.

Here’s an interesting argument for Christ.

The young man is out to seek a wife. He’s a good looking young boy, so there’s a lot of very beautiful and talented women who want his company. What should he choose?

If he considers himself an ugly and useless young man he’ll choose wisely. But if what he’s looking for his beauty and talent and lots of joyful unions, he’ll choose wrong.

When a man or woman except the gospel of Christ, they are taken into the house of Christ. From that vantage point they are shown numerous marvelous things. They become part of the bride of Christ. Then they are sent out into the world to be useful to their husband. They are to help him add to his bride.

What if they consider themselves beautiful and talented? Won’t they become just as useless to their husband as all the beautiful women who chased after the young man?

Proud and Righteous

If a man walks out of this life proud, thinking he is righteous, he is a liar. Humiliation will take its pound of flesh.

We might fool others. And we may allow our imagination to fool ourselves. But you will not fool truth and purity.

We can play games in the dark. But the Light will shine straight through our souls. What we are, what we have done, and what we think about ourselves, will be utterly blatant.

Let’s be real. That moment of unveiling is only a few minutes away.  Gain humility by truth here and now, letting humiliation show our weaknesses, or be humiliated for eternity.

This is probably better said by 1 million other people. But it’s never so clearly spoken as when we hear it and obey.

Tim Linhart

Has he found a doorway?

By rationale, they say, “We can perceive the eternal things by the work of our own hands. We don’t need Christ Jesus to see God.”

Really now.

Then what is the use of Christ’s sacrifice?   What is the use of God the father elevating his Holy Son to first of all creation?  Why has he said to us, “I am the way the truth and the life. No one comes to God but through me.”

If a man can save himself by the work of his own hands why did God bother to suffer for our sake?  If the work of our hands can bring us near to God, then we don’t need Christ!  SUCCESS!  Right?

Tim Linhart is famous for his ice music. A friend of mine says we should go and see this.  So I looked it up.

I will not go and see it.  The what he has done is interesting and wonderful.  But in his explanation he attributes spiritual aspects he has no right to attribute.  He says that since we are made with melted water we find a connection to spiritual things through the music of ice.  Really?

Is there a door to eternity that a man may pass through by the work of his own hands?  Or is the spiritual emphasis only found in the imagination of a man with some talent to wield sharp objects against ice?  And, if self-salvation can be achieved through ice, why not cow pies too?

Read the Gospel. You determine for yourself what is true and what is imagination.  The entirety of eternity is at stake in such presumably small details.  Either Christ is King or he is of no value.

What Lives?

There is Beautiful.

There is justice.

There is purity.

There is utter righteousness.

It is not in religion; those things a man does because Beautiful is.

It is at the table of the Living God.

The place where millions come every morning and every night.

Do not be ashamed of what you eat there.

Of all the things you hold so dear, the meal prepared for you is an invitation to every man.

Invite, speak well, encourage, offer the humility you have received.

His name is Jesus.

Come to him and live.
