That Fully Peculiar Sadness

I perceived a sadness within me.  Did it belong to me?

A cursory search of my soul says no, this sadness does not belong to me.  Joy belongs to me, for it is given to me by the Holy One of God.

Then to whom does this sadness belong?  Doesn’t it belong to those who do not believe?  Yes to those who don’t believe.

My soul stands at the door of heaven and looks back.  I don’t see an excited horde rushing toward the door of Christ.  I see all men milling about with frantic enthusiasm for everything that is futile.

The sadness I am feeling is that, Man is not sad at all.  Like condemned men who stand against the wall of a firing squad, yet celebrate the place where they stand.  Mindless and blind as to what comes next, they busy themselves with an obvious joy.

We can only speak of what we have been told.  He who receives receives, he who does not receive is the source of my sadness.

So be it.  God is first in Christ.  It is to him I owe allegiance.  This sadness will not consume me, even as a foolish enjoy consumes all men around me.

Recompense and Reward

Zacchaeus was evidently a man of small stature, but he was not poor.  He promised to pay back double if he had cheated anyone.

In my life, I have been a man of small heart, and nearly a pauper.  I am no billionaire, and what money can remove the scars from those I have injured?

But I am eternally rich in the things of Christ.  It is he who will pay back double for all the injury I have made.  I am wealthy beyond my possible imagination.  Be patient, for justice and mercy will come like a flood.

“Shut Up Already

Yes, yes, yes, I speak about Christianity almost exclusively.  Shrug shrug, sorry, I can’t help it.  And I really am sorry that it bugs a lot of people.

But as I was driving along, something fascinating caught my attention.

(I don’t know how to say this without offending anyone so I’ll just git er done, and let the chips fall where they do.)

The world is all upset because Christians like to share their faith.  I don’t know what their problem is.  Most people I’ve met, who call themselves Christians, don’t speak publicly of Christianity at all.

Abrasive Consistency

Some people think I think too highly of myself because of all the things I write concerning God.  Not only do I not think too highly of myself, I’m hardly worthy to be called a Christian.

By speaking so much, they say I try to elevate myself.  And their judgments are made to drag me back down.  (I would think that if someone is trying to elevate themselves, they would not speak consistently of someone else.)

There seems to be a disparity here.  What if I really am no one in Christ?  What if I’m just an average man who sees something beautiful in God?  What if, at best, I am only an average Christian?  Wouldn’t that be what they are actually trying to say?

I do find it interesting, that those who try to drag me back down, do not step up to speak themselves.  So if I am, at best, an average Christian, or even a hypocrite, as they say, who should step down and who should step up?

And with all the time that is spent trying to drag me back down to the place they think I belong, they would do better to assess the words I write and consider their own standing in Christ.

But isn’t this what every vocal Christian finds to be true?  The moment we praise God with an open heart, the entire world gathers together to shut us down.

Its not that they offer anything better or different.  They simply don’t like hearing about the Living God’s Holy Son.  And they really can’t stand it, that one of their own, loves God more than Man.

If I’m wrong about these things, I do sincerely apologize.  But I see nothing, in the fabric of Man, to say these things are not true.

Damaging Judgments of Memory

There was a fountain in the town square that used to be connected to an underground stream laced with sulfur.  When the fountain had been built the water was clean.  But over time a pocket of sulfur was released by the flow.

The people in the village knew to avoid the water in the fountain, and it’s no surprise they considered it a filthy thing.  It was obvious this was not a place of nourishment.

But for some unexplained reason, one day the water in the fountain ran clean.  For years the people in the village avoided the fountain, not caring that the water was pure.  They couldn’t forget what the fountain used to contain.

Instead of enjoying their newfound convenience, they would walk nearly a quarter mile to the fresh flowing spring outside the village to get their water.  By habit and a memory of insult, they refused to drink the water of the fountain.

Do we judge the value of a man by what he used to be?  Or are we diligent enough to take a look at what he has become?

No Confusion Allowed

I don’t want people to mistake the intent, meaning, source, inspiration, or Leadership of this blog.

I don’t write to give strength to universalism, relativism, humanism, atheism, or any religion/construct of man.

If I point out anything in creation, it will find an immediate reference to the Holy Lord God Most High; and this through The Holy Son.

They say, “All truths lead to the singular Truth”.  They say that every item and thought will lead to “something greater”.

While there might be a miniscule of truth in what they say, I am amazed that the “something greater” is never the target of such teachings.

They always stay in a “search mode”, as if discovering was the key to living a full and satisfying life.

This blog is from God, through his servant in Christ Jesus, and will never advocate anything more than a diligent humiliation of soul before the Majesty of God.

I am not writing a “search mode” blog.  I am spelling out the Truth; that elusive and rarely intended target of all Man’s endeavors.

If you’ve come here thinking that I will add to your search, you’re wrong.  I intend to define, highlight, advocate, glorify, and promote the Living God’s Holy Son Jesus.

There is NO truth but the very Word of the Living God.

He is TRUTH.

He is LIFE.

He is RIGHTEOUSNESS

He is HOPE

He is THE SINGULAR SACRIFICE FOR EVERY MAN

Does this sound like I agree with all the “search modes” of man?
