Doctorate? Doctor it….

I see someone who posts his credentials before you read his article.  Let me read your article without your credentials.  If it is true I will agree.   If it is not your credentials will not help you.

I too have credentials.  To what end are they valuable except that I know how to spell?

Potential, an Exclusive Tenant

Men have the appearance of intelligence.  I mean I look at another and expect a love of God to reside behind that face.  But that is so rarely the case.

Offer everything from pornography to religion and you’ll likely spark a conversation.  But mention Jesus and you’ll get a chance to examine the back of their head.

Men have the appearance of holy potential.  But that potential will not allow room for self.

What’s for dinner?

Man will not take a steady diet of good words.  It is a fact not an accusation.  The appetite for what is good resides in the Holy Spirit.  As often as we live there we desire what is his. image

Many Rooms

What room we place the Gospel in matters greatly.  Each one of us has many rooms; past, present, future, important, lies, life, death, and many more.  Where do you keep your copy of the Gospel?

With Sighing

Lord Jesus, you know I want to come home.  But not my will but yours be done.   Please allow me to speak.  I know you know these things Lord, but for the sake of my brothers and sisters please allow me and help me to speak.

It is sickening, fearsome and depressing to watch the wicked prosper.  It is equally sickening, fearsome and depressing to watch my brothers and sisters try to ignore this prosperity.  But you have seen this before Lord.

The prosperity of the wicked will not find it’s end until all doubt is erased regarding its intent.  This wickedness thrives on pride and greed.  It considers it an insult to be ignored and dishonored.  And so it must increase it’s vulgarity and violence.

You have told us that they will kill your two witnesses.  And then they will celebrate by giving each other gifts.  But before then they will become immensely wicked.  And they will be spured on by the silence of the righteous.

I have seen enough to sicken me.  Yet there is vastly more to come.  I testify to these things.  I have come from wickedness to serve you.  So I personally know that wickedness has no bounds nor end.  It does what it can get away with.  But I also know the people will not speak out against it.  Just as they did not speak out in your favor for fear of the jews.  So it is, so it will be.

Lord Jesus ,I will work with gladness enduring what may come.  But in my soul I fear tiredness.  For already I want to come home.  Please strengthen your servant.

Boneless people

In a world of boneless people two gelatinous  blobs decided to help one another.  They wiggled and jiggled and rolled until they were side by side.  Then they began to help each other.

Since they had no bones they could not lift their arms.  Their fingers were but tiny flaps of skin.  But they did have eyes and mouths.  And with these they spent their days helping one another.

One day the Lord Jesus passed by.  Their love for one another touched him.  He stood near them until they went to sleep that night.   With his heart full of caring he gave the men bones in their arms and hands.

When the men awoke they were delighted with their new ability.  They scratched what itches they could reach.  And they found themselves so much more capable of taking care of one another.  By reaching out and pulling or pushing they could move from one place to another.  And so, full of joy, they gave thanks to God and fell asleep at the end of the first day.

That night the Lord Jesus came by again.  He saw how they had taken care of one another with their newfound strength.  He took note that they had put salve on each other’s bed sores, and moved some of the obstacles that had prevented their comfort.  Their efforts together pleased Him, so he gave them bones in their body.  But the Lord withheld the bones for their legs and feet.

The Sun rose upon the friends and found them sitting up.  With their newfound perch their eyes could see farther than before.  They spent the day again helping one another and speaking of the beauty that had surrounded them.  Finally, with many tasks accomplished, and a lengthy prayer of thanks, the pair fell asleep for the night.

By wise design the Lord stayed away from the pair for 7 days.  When he came near them it was at the close of the 7th day and he found them sleeping.  He walked about their encampment and was amazed at their ingenuity.

A table has been built for two.  2 beds held the sleeping friends.  A tiny cabin surrounded them.  A fire pit was framed by two chairs.  And the door to their tiny cabin was wide enough to allow two men to pass through at the same time.

The Lord was greatly pleased.  He had purposed to wait for 7 days to see how these men would use their newfound gift.  To his joy they had done as was required for they had turned their gifts toward helping one another.

With a beaming smile and soft teary eyes the Lord touch them and gave them bones in their legs and feet.  Then very softly he lowered his head between the two men and whispered, “Hear me my friends.  Sleep while you listen.  Because you have discarded selfishness, I love you.  And now I will give you a token of my love.  See, I have given you legs so that together you might go about and teach others the way that you have learned.”   With that the Lord kissed them and went on his way.

When the pair awoke they were full of joy and gave great thanks to God.  They spent the rest of their lives teaching others how to be selfless.  And the Lord came behind granting bones here and there.
