Please Be Wise

I saw what the Pastor posted.  I was insulted for his sake.  He spoke of the things of the people with kindness and inclusion.  He was showing, clearly, that he understood the call of the world to take pity on a social situation.  He has become like them.

Is the Gospel too limited that we should have time to involve ourselves in the affairs of the world?  Is there not enough material and need within our God so that we have time to waste?  Is every man, woman and child already become holy before the Lord that we can abandon our holy calling and revel with them in the perceived plights of the world?

The world will drag us away if we allow ourselves to desire their love more than the love of God.  I have never read in the Bible or heard from the Spirit of God the things that man thinks are important.  I hear, “Go!  The time is short.  There is much holy work to be done.”

Withdraw from them!  Please be wise.  You attack me when I mention these things.  You say that I am cold and have no regard for the things that matter to the people.  I will stand my ground.  My mention to you was with good intent, even while it was from an insulted soul.  What you include yourself in is insulting to the Lord of Grace.  For you side with man and do not consider the word of a brother to carry any weight at all.

I do not judge you, and I will not ask the Lord to judge between us in this matter.  I assess by the rule of our Lord concerning our love of the world.  15 “Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. 16 For all that is in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—is not of the Father but is of the world. 17 And the world is passing away, and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides forever.”  (1 John 2)

My brother, come away from them.  Be separate for His sake.  Do not listen to me, sir.  Listen to the Lord of Life!
