The Convient Conspiracy

“Let us conspire to conveniences.  Let us fabricate with the most expensive materials.  Let us melt down antiquity and build anew.  We have been caught in lies before.  And our desire to secure our own way has met resistance at every turn.  We need an entirely new approach.”

They looked about for materials and ideas.  They have settled on a rather convient approach.  Grace is a solid foundation as well as a sufficient covering.   Not to mention that it requires no effort at all to raise up and maintain.  But to call it by its proper name will not do.  For they have conspired to bring down the Holy language of antiquity.

“Love, yes.  We will call it love.”  Who can disagree?  And let us examine what implements might fit within that definition.  Most convient, this ‘love’.  Most convient indeed.”

Look how they have left off holiness.  Look how they shed righteousness.  Look how they accuse comment as judgmental attitude.  Look now, see them carry a new banner.  Legislation will now enforce love.

Even so, Lord Jesus, come.

Freedom or Oppression

I got my mail in ballot today.  It’s the first time in my life I will vote.  Yeah.  The situation is that startling and vital.  But what is the situation?

Do we vote to sustain freedom for all people in America?  Or do we vote to limit freedom for all Americans?  I have come to an understanding about this that has rattled my cage slightly.

If Romney wins America is likely to struggle toward the freedom of expression America has always known.  If Obama wins we will continue to lose freedoms, eventually becoming a nation more in line with communism.  Which is better?

You might say that freedom is better, as did I until last night.  Then the Lord showed me the true issue at stake in this election.  The true issue at stake is obedience to eternal life through the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Now I consider how men have responded to the freedom of expression this nation is used to enjoying.  And I consider the nature of men and women who live in communist nations.  I saw how the family in America has disintegrated under freedom of expression.  And I saw how the family is forced to huddle together under the trials of communism.

For the sake of salvation I am forced to tone down my abhorrent thoughts about President Obama’s policies.  But for the sake of the suffering that surely come under his second term, I am forced to lament for the tears that will be shed.

I will vote for every republican I can find on the ballot.  But I know that it will be God who will determine, in His Great wisdom, who will lead this nation into 2013.

By Your Grace, Marvelous Lord, we submit to Your decision with joy.  For we know that all things work toward the good of all who are learning to love You.  By the name of Your Holy Son I post this letter.  May You receive Glory forever by all Your people.  Amen.

The Fog of War!

Fox news carries an article regarding Hillary Clinton taking responsibility for the confusion over the terrorist attack on 911.  They say she blames “the fog of war” on the confusion.  Please excuse me for saying the following:  “The fog of war” describes a mental lapse due to extreme hardship under extreme conditions.  Explosions, screams, smoke, and threat of imminent death, are usually present during “the fog of war”.  I thought the attack was in Libya.  And I hadn’t heard that Hillary was there.  On top of that this other thought comes to mind:  If her role in the administration is so extreme for her that she too experiences “the fog of war”, perhaps she should step down.  I wouldn’t want her to succumb to “the fog of war”.  Besides, under those conditions, how can we trust that she will be able to perform her duties in any other “extreme” situation?

Let us assume that we are allowed to lie just to keep our job.  What will our duties produce?

Let us assume that we are commanded to lie to protect the guilty.  What can we expect from such behavior?

Let us assume that we are allowed to make excuses to God for our lack of performance in Jesus.  What can we expect as the outcome of our faith?

Those who are in Christ Jesus are held to the highest possible standard of behavior.  There is Grace, yes.  But there is also encouragement, rebuke, teaching in all righteousness, and the Love of God which restrains us in His Holy service.  Do not do as the world does.  Do as the Lord Jesus does.

Eternal Vote

The call of the day is to abandon all the work of the liberals and support conservative ideals.  And millions are making plans, through educating themselves, to do just that come November 6th.  “Millions”, I say.  Millions!  People who have never voted before are now registered and prepared to take a stand for the sake of their freedom.  Wow!  The nation is divided as never before over the issues of the day.  I almost have to laugh at the response.  Threaten to take away freedom and the nation wakes up.  There will likely be more years of voting to come.  And we will see what happens this year.  But the rousing response to liberalism is impressive.

We get to vote our mind once, twice, three times and more.  It’s kind or like a restart when elections come along.  We get to keep chosing what kind of leadership we want.  But there is an election that many of those millions are missing.

Threaten America with a loss of freedom to do anything they want and they come out swinging.  Yet few pay attention to the on going, second by second election regarding the eternal freedom.  They select leaders over the “stuff” of life in the body.  But what about the election of who is Lord of their eternity?

What would America look like if the people were as worried about voting for satan or Jesus?  Satan (I had to capitalize the name cause it was the first word in the sentence, sorry)  is the king of lies, rebellion, corruption and eternal stupidity.  Jesus is King of eternal righteousness and life.  All men everywhere are required to vote for one or the other.  The voting booth is your  heart, all your soul, all your strength, and all your mind.

With so much at stake in this American election I can see why people are a bit concerned.  But with eternity at stake I would think people would be more concerned with the eternal election also.  The real question at hand is not liberal or conservative, democrat or republican.  The real question is Life or death.

I had a dream a few days ago which comes to my mind often enough to mention.

I was at a gathering in a house.  People were milling about speaking of many things.  One man, in a rather flamboyant outfit, leaned around the edge of a door and asked me what The Lord had to say about President Obama.

That incident in the dream has stood out in my heart as worthy of mention.  And the warning to me was clear.  People will come to me to ask what the Lord has said regarding this man (the president), and what will come from his leadership.  I have been warned to be very careful how I address these things.  This is the response I am to give to all who would inquire of me concerning the president:

“Go seek the Lord’s understanding yourself.  You come to a man to gain what is God’s alone to know and do.  I warn you of things regarding the Gospel of Christ which is clearly given to us to understand.  I do not have more for you than that.  He has not given me more to give to you.  And while I tell you this regarding your question, I ask you this:  Why do you come to me for that which is not known, while you do not come to me to learn what is readily knowable?  You want answers, yet you do not ask according to wisdom.  And what will you do if I could tell you the answer you are now seeking?

Nancy Pelosi Signs Unemployment Extension BIll

I think about Nancy Pelosi and shiver at the thought of spending eternity with her as my next door neighbor.  Ok…. so I spilled my guts about what I think of her.  Now don’t get the gun out just yet.  I got a bit more to say.

I was more a fool than she for many decades.  At least she works for a living.  I spent a whole lot of time drinking and being unemployed.  So she’s got it over me in that arena.  The Lord came to me and taught me to do a better job at taking a stab at righteousness.  She can endure the same thing from Him.  So I shouldn’t be quite so quick to judge her.

Besides, who would want to live eternally with me as their neighbor?  I sure wouldn’t!
