The Modern Wisdom?

Observing a thread of posts by those who label themselves atheists, I am caused to wonder:

You are asking questions of those who testify of God’s Grace.  You are asking questions as to the origins of the Bible.  You are seeking, or so it would seem, to understand what Christianity is.  This has gone on now for some time.  Much of the testimony you have received is solid and sure footed.  But you continue to ask for more testimony.

I perceive what you are doing as if you are holding court over the truth we claim.  Testimony after testimony is brought before you and you ask another question.  When is the verdict due?  Or do you think that by this line of questioning  you validate yourself?  Render a decision.  What are you waiting for?  You will never gain the proof you’re seeking.  In the end it will still be a matter of faith.  And you are not new to this cross examination.  Look what Paul wrote:

“Jews demand miraculous signs and Greeks look for wisdom,  but we preach Christ crucified: a stumbling block to Jews and foolishness to Gentiles, but to those whom God has called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God.  For the foolishness of God is wiser than man’s wisdom, and the weakness of God is stronger than man’s strength.”  (1 Cor. 22-25)

You will search out our testimony.  But in the end of this foolishness you will be left with nothing.  Consider your own testimony regarding Jesus.  What do you say?  Render your verdict.  The central point of what we testify is that you will give account of yourself to this God you’re trying to prove.  Don’t think that you will be admired by Him because you dissected His people’s faith.

By His Grace.

Consider:

What would you do, and how would you act, if the Lord made it plain to you that you were the last Christian left on earth?  If nothing would change, then fine.  But if you search yourself with serious sobriety and find anything lacking, why not focus and fix it?

We do as He allows.  And no one, NO ONE, does anything truly good without His power and will.  Likewise, no one can do anything to you but that God allows it to be done!  STAND!

By His Grace.

Today is Your Day

Today you are allowed to be anything you want to be.  Today, the Lord allows that all men can pursue any sin they please.  Today, you can commit murder if you please.  Today, you can hate your brother or sister human if that is what you please to do.  Today, you can steal that small item from work.  Today, you can say what you want about anything.  Today, you can break any law you wish.  Today belongs to man.

But there is coming a day where all choice to sin will cease.  That day is upon everyone who obeys Jesus in the Spirit of God.  Even though there are many who claim to belong to Jesus and continue in their sins.  But come your death or the rapture of the Church, all sin will cease.  Those who love wickedness will cease with wickedness.  And those who love righteousness will live with He who is righteous.

Today is your day.  But today is also a day of choice.  Jesus offers freedom from the bondage of sin.  Ya gonna take it?

By His Grace.

Walking as Dead

You have strayed from what is right and run after all kinds of evil.  Your body is wrapped in addictions.  Your mouth is full of cursings and wicked words.  And you think there is no longer any hope for you.

Yet there is hope.  There is no need for you to wander in this darkness any longer.  I testify that I too was encased in all these things.  I too was a fool.  I did things, said things, thought things, and chased after every manner of evil.  But it was Jesus who set me free to stand before The Father with confidence and a clean mind and heart.

People speak of forgiveness as though it were a “pie in the sky” dream.  I tell you it is real!  When you come to Jesus there is a true transformation which takes place.  Though it’s not an over night experience, you will find evil slip away from you. If you will remain with Him, He will transform you into His desire.  No longer will you chase after evil.  You will begin to desire what is good.  He will teach you what you should do.

There is absolutely no lie in what I’ve just said.  I testify as one who has been set free of evil.  Though I am still a man and stumble around a bit, it is His leading that will bring me into God’s presence clean and justified.  God is the Judge.  God is the One who forgives through Jesus.  It is God who will lift you up from death to life.  All men and women walk as dead in this world until they are set into The Life by Jesus.

By His Grace.

Who is This Jesus?

Who is this Jesus?  He was made heir of all things by the Living God.  He was given the status of Son by the Living God.  He was taught by the Father how to create all that is created.  He has loved righteousness and hated wickedness.  And so He was elevated to the status of God Most High.  He is the radiance of God’s Glory; the exact representation of God.  He is the spoken and speaking Word of God.  Who is this Jesus?

The world thinks of Jesus as a little baby.  And in that form He is conveniently small and insignificant.  Yet that is not the Jesus of God’s understanding.  He is a prophet to some, yet that is not the Jesus of God’s understanding.  He has been with the Father from the beginning and will remain with Him forever.  He is the redeemer of men; causing them to become holy as the Father is Holy.  Yet the world sees Him as a nuisance.

We will see Him as the One who endured GREAT pain for the sake of His Father’s will.  When we see Him, He will be dressed in absolute Glory.  For now many see Jesus as an irritation.  On the Day of God’s Wrath, we will see Him as He is.  No longer will men doubt.  No longer will they rail against righteousness.  No longer will they kill, maim, chide, and relegate God’s people to obscurity.

The wicked will perish like a ball of cotton in an intense flame.  They will scream with terror at the prospect of their fate.  And they will hate Jesus with an eternal hatred.  I do not wish anyone to endure what is coming for the wicked.  Please consider what He is.  Consider with a great trembling.  You are about to meet your maker.  His name is Jesus.

By His Grace.

God is Out of Time.

“Whad ya do yesterday?”   How often is that question asked?  And in how many languages?  What you did yesterday does have impact on today.  But what you do today is far more important.

I was amazed when I first heard the writer of Hebrews refer to a day as a place.  Hmmm  wow and awesome.  God is out of time.  His view of our limited notion of time is that of places.  It’s as though we walk from one place to another and pass certain places.  And in this respect, the writer had a billions of tons of information in another statement:  “Today, if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts.”

If yesterday only matters because you passed it, how much more important is today?  Consider something.  You, like all people, will soon run out of todays.  What will you do when God refers to all the places you’ve been?

By His Grace.
