The Time Has Appeared

Fire consuming an old brochure

Holy Father, they die all around me.  I see with eyes not my own.  I hear the cries they do not cry.  I feel the shaking of earth from the horror in their breasts.  How they cower in the light!  And how terrible it is for them.  They have met the God they have spurned.  With no place to hide they now beg for mercy.  But no mercy will be extended.

I do not accuse Your Holy ways for the terror that now belongs to them.  You have spoken from the time of Adam to now.  But they have refused to listen.  Now they face You on a foreign ground.  They are overcome by eternity.  Before my eyes they stand with a consuming fire.  Their guilt melts their flesh with fear.  And all this they endure because they desired rebellion over Your Holy Ways.

Please Father in heaven, dress me to deliver the message of sure doom to a people without ears.  No man perceives Your Holy Son unless You open their eyes.  I ask You to go before me that I might not walk in vain.

By Your Great Grace I pray.

Amen.

Spreading the Gospel

The “Jesus freaks” of the 70’s have gone. Other “movements” for the Lord have come and gone.  There are some who continue to proclaim the Gospel with a rather loud voice.  And I am not speaking of pastors, evangelists, or TV preachers.  There are some who simply can’t keep their lips closed.  And these are blessed to continue.  They are not enduring a fad.  They are completely consumed with the message of God.

Now the question is, is their state of affairs a direct gift from God?  Or is it a purposeful and singular dedication to what is right, good, and eternal?  In the end, does it matter?  Isn’t it true that, in the end, all that matters is that the Gospel was preached to every corner of the world?

How to Make Friends?

Some days are clarity.  Some days are a fog of stupidity.  These are three posts I made on facebook this morning.

Like getting little children to eat what’s good for them (and worse), it is impossible to convince most people that serving the Lord Jesus is the very best of life.  Try to force, if you want to, but you’ll end up simply smearing the Gospel in places where it’s not welcome.

Look to do what the Lord has placed right into your lap.  We are told to do good for the family of God and to live such good lives that even if we are accused our lives will prove otherwise.  But if our lap is covered with materialism and selfishness, how can we see what the Lord has put there?  Stand up. Empty your lap.  Then you can see what remains.

Why are so many transfixed on the body?  It is as though their body is the ultimate religion.   Don’t they realize that in just a very little while that body they love so much will be a rotten stench and food for worms?  The priorities of man are so very trivial and foolish.  It is the soul that should get all that attention.  That is the part of you that will remain forever.  Either to your horror or to your great joy.

Listening to Glenn Beck panic.  He thinks America can reverse the current direction by uniting as a people.  I doubt that he will recognize that it is God who is allowing this degeneration of America.  The only way out is to individually unite with Jesus.  This might not stop what is happening.  But it will ensure that we have a distinct hope where others won’t.

Are there rumors about you being spread?  Are they bad?  Personally, I have no doubt that rumors have floated about regarding me.  And likely many of them are bad.  I find it easy to shed the burden of this plight.  For if those who spread the rumors knew the truth about me, they would kill me.  What power, then, does any rumor have that the truth hasn’t already supplied?

You judge for yourself how they received.  I didn’t expect to make friends by posting them.

What Then?

They eat from a rotten table, covered with fine gold.  The plates are made of pressed garbage, yet covered with shining porcelain.  Every meal is fit for a king.  And with great joy they eat their fill with laughter and love for each one at the table.  They invite others to join them.  And each one is praised for the work they have done during the day.  “We are wonderful!”  This is the constant melody spoken, whispered, sung, and written.  “Great are the people of the world!  For we have set ourselves to do what is good.  We are to receive praise, for we do not allow intolerance, hatred, or bigotry.  We recognize that each one of us dabbles in pleasures of differing kind.  And we support this within our brothers and sisters.  We will teach the children that freedom to do as you please is above every law.  All we ask of each other is that we tolerate the others around us with a great and praise worthy patience.”

Eat, celebrate, find every pleasure pleasurable to your heart.  Your day of pride will not last much longer.  Then you will find the One who made you greeting you face to face.  Then you will find out that He has set a day to judge your indulgent nature.  You did not think it right to seek out His ways.  And you considered the life in this body to be the end of all things.  You will be surprised to note that you were expected to seek His ways.  You will realize that this place was prepared for Jesus.  And you will come to understand that this was a place where men’s hearts were to be tested.  Failing the test, you will cry great tears.  Some of you will be horribly angry, yet unable to vent your wrath.

Awake!  Consider what is written here.  This is just one man of God speaking what is true.  Perhaps you hate my words.  What will you think when they come from the lips of the Most High God, and are spoken directly to YOU.  What then, my fellow men?  What then?

He Is . . . . What Man Cannot Speak.

I want to write about how beautiful it is to know the Father through Jesus.  But there are no words.  I want to show what He means to His people.  But what action can rightly display the Love He is?

We are saved by God’s Grace, through The Faith; and this is not our own, it comes from the Heavenly Father lest any of us should boast.  A man might walk into a cathedral and marvel at the works of art he sees.  He might feel his heart melt with the music.  And he might even fall on his knees in reverent awe at the inspiring envelope of “sacred” symbolism.  But all this pales into oblivion compared with the glory that God reveals in 5 minutes of silence before the Throne of the Most High God.

Forgiveness is the beginning.  A removing of our recognized guilt.  This is a real experience.  But there is vastly more.

He is peace.  And when we rest before Him through the sacrifice of Jesus, this peace becomes ours in some tiny measure.  He has been peace from ancient days.  And He will forever be that same peace.  He is peace to all who obey what they know about Him.  No matter how slight our understanding might be.  To obey is to enter in.

How wonderful to know the blazing Glory of God through eyes blinded yet full.  What words are there to describe what the Spirit reveals?  Even in our prayers, we are told we do not know how we should pray.  But the Spirit utters to the Father the things of our heart.  And the answer comes to us in words we cannot speak.  Yet, somehow the Spirit of God interprets for our tiny minds.

Oh God, our God of Love, Hope, and Righteousness, praise is Yours everlasting!  For You alone are peace and life.  To You we offer all we have.  Please come take what we thought was ours.  Replace our treasure with that which is Yours.  May Your Holy and Good will be done forever!  Amen.

When

When will we, as individuals, be ready to accept the will of the Lord in Jesus?

When will we, as individuals, believe to the point of walking in faith?

When will we, as individuals, step into the shoes of the Gospel of Peace?

When will we, as individuals, speak the truth in love?

When will we, as individuals, learn to be ready to serve Him in season and out of season?

When?

What are we, as individuals, waiting for?

What more can be said to us that He has not already said?

Fear nothing.  Believe the words the Holy Lord of Life has spoken, both promise of good and promise of bad.

Stretch out your hand and take what is being offered this very minute.

The very second your eyes reach this WORD, eternity is upon you.

Eternity is not the past, though it was already there.

Eternity is not the future, though the Lord has already known and prepared what is to come.

Eternity is “the now”.

Are we, as individuals, waiting for heaven?

What will we, as individuals, say when we arrive before Him?

Shall we confess that we were waiting?  Might He answer with a question?

“Waiting for what?”
