As is always the case, “soul supply” correctly nails the vibrancy of Christmas. Below is a worthy read for all men, but especially for the faithful brothers in the body of Christ.

“Mass”, refers to the amassing of people for an agreed purpose. “Christ”, specifies the purpose. Christmas!
What can man say? How will anyone of us testify before the Living God in regard to our celebration of what is called Christmas?
How have we honored the Living God’s Christ by the giving of joy and gifts to one another? How have we celebrated his Royalty? What is the year, and where is the place we amassed for His Glory alone?
The question will be satisfied with one day’s answer. You cannot supply one sufficient day for answer. I shall not ask you for all your days.
But men take pride in what they have done to the Glory of God. They celebrate snow. They elevate fictitious characters. They embrace lies as if they are holy. And they consider any man blasphemous who speaks against them. Then count me blasphemous, for I will speak against it!
The concept of fasting is more than the celebration of Lent. Easter is not intended for glamorous attire, hide and seek, and a simple rabbit.
Christmas, of all days people, Christmas! This is the one day man has drug to the very pit of hell. Every wicked attribution of man is attributed to this most Holy day!
Along with all our other unholy sins, every man will give account to the Most High God for his treatment of this day; for his treatment of His Most Holy Son.
The very word of God became flesh among us. This by the power of God’s righteous strength. God’s intent for compassion has become a pageantry of selfish greed.
They celebrate without knowledge, yet they assume they know perfectly well. Their assumption is a wall a: thousand miles thick, and 10 thousand miles high. They are not aware of their lack, nor do they care to look into these things.
The Royalty of the Holy Lord Jesus stands established forever! The Living God has spoken an eternal oath.
How can man hold the Incarnate Word of God in one hand, and the lie of Santa Claus in the other? It is not possible to worship both! One of them rightfully demands to be God!
How is it your right to compare what is Holy with what is a lie? How is it possible to be the owner of life and death at the same time? By doing this you ascribe death to the Holy One of God.
For lack of vision the people perish. Their vision is cut short by greedy lies. What glories they forsake, for the sake of shiny trinkets!

He was born in obscurity. He readied himself with quiet humility. He taught with words few understood. He was condemned in private. He was beaten in seclusion. Then he was murdered in public.
The greatest of his joys is talked about the least; the moment when his feet left the ground. At the end of his perfect ministry to man, he was taken up to be with his Father forever.
In this season, we talk about the baby. In this season, we talk about his humiliation. Though people marvel at the child.
But let us inject His glory to the story of our Lord. For that tiny obscure child will return with explosive Holiness.
The world loves the innocent and helpless child. But they have no regard for the glorious Lord he became.
The baby speaks no words of condemnation. He is innocent and beautiful in their eyes.
But make no mistake, at that time in his ministry, he was so treated by those who lived in his day. Those same people who passed by with a smile, also screamed out the words, “Crucify him”.
Christmas leads to three bloody nails. Do not let the joy of the world confuse you. They do not love The Christ, they love pageantry.

Christmas always gets out of hand. This is because it has been stolen by people who have absolutely no idea regarding the Majestic reason for it. I do not say this to blame them. A sinner corrupts where it can because it is a sinner.
But I thought it might be helpful to remind us of the reason for Christianity. Perhaps then the Majesty of our celebration of Christmas can find renewed appreciation.
We are saved because we have no rightful claim to rival against God. The sin of our enemy is that he thought equality with God was something to grasp. It is utterly impossible that we should foster such thinking.
With this in mind we perceive correctly what is our place among God’s eternal kingdom. Consider the love of a man toward his generous enemy. Though he deserves to be destroyed with the rest of his countrymen, he is offered a lavish and peaceful life in his enemy’s kingdom. Such love is presently being tested among all who will respond to the invitation from God.
He will utterly destroy all claims toward His throne. He alone is vital. God alone is righteous. The Living God alone is good. Nothing will ever secure an accusation against Him. Thus He has prepared One who will minster between all creation and Himself. Yet look at the very nature of the One God has chosen.
5 “In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus:
6 Who, being in very nature God,
did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage; 7 rather, he made himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. 8 And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to death—even death on a cross!
9 Therefore God exalted him to the highest place
and gave him the name that is above every name,10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, 11 and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.”
Little Brenda and Thedore get their gifts for Christmas. How delightful to watch them focus all their joy for a while. But soon that joy finds another object of focus.
Right now is Christ Mass for the believers whom God has raised up. Something so precious as the gift of eternal life should initiate such a focused joy as to never lose that first love of wonder. He is so full of amazing beauty!
Lord, please renew my amazement and joy for who You are and what You’ve done here. Please don’t let me act like a child at the giving of gifts. May my joy increase. May my amazement and wonder abound. For Your Beauty is Astounding!
Perhaps I would be better off to not post this entry. But it consumes my thoughts on this Christmas eve. And I consider that nothing I post will find a grand welcome in most homes anyway. So I’ll post this pondering.
All my life I have had only a tiny handful of friends. I’ve had many who tried to love me. But to no avail. Did their love fall short? No, I was not lovable. But what does that mean?
I look and look at society and consider the answer: What does it mean that I was not lovable enough to retain friends or loved ones? Does it mean that I am such trash that even the outcast among us would gladly throw me away? Does it mean that I hate who we are with such a venom that even venomous snakes of men are repulsed at the vicious nature of my heart? This line of questioning will certainly result in a unfruitful line of answers. If I question myself along this line, I will most certainly conclude that I am not worthy to breathe the same air as everyone else. And frankly, this has been my conclusion for decades. Since I have gained no ground prior to this using these questions, it would be good to seek questions that provide a different group of answers.
How am I different than any other man that I should experience this alienation? There is nothing about me that you would recognize at first which would provide that answer. I’m just like you in a variety of ways. Where the difference appears is in what I hold as important.
When I voice that “important” information, the result is alienation. What is the difference? I am quick to call things as they are. I don’t monkey around with politically correct speech. I have found that to do so simply puts off the inevitable games people play. These games have to do with pride, importance, personal worth, gain, lies, greed, gossip, hatred of anything not “me”, and so very much more.
I’m not saying that I’m a perfect man. I’m simply not willing to play the games of society. Why? Because I learned at an early age that no one wins in the games people play against each other. Society says that we have to become something important. And important is always defined by someone else. If important were defined around a camp fire, we would consider bringing wood, killing something to eat, and providing some kind of shelter as indicators of what is important. But add invention, and “important” escalates into something far more difficult to grasp and identify. A man will say to himself, “I have gained what others do not have. Thus I am important. And it is important that others recognize me as important. And those who won’t recognize my importance will suffer by my important hand.”
This is why I am an outcast. I will not recognize this self made importance as valuable. It is a lie. And I won’t give glory to a life led by lying. I give myself no glory for such behavior. I certainly won’t give it to others. Do you realize that even wearing the title of mom or dad can become a lie? Even such a very reasonable title can become a “right” which demands obedience. And in society such titles supercede righteous living. How awesome to think that such a reasonable title can become so corrupt.
I am forced to accept my position in this world. And it is often saddening to look around and count my friends by looking in the mirror. But then I realize that even I have not been my best friend. For I put myself into situations unholy and unrighteous. Even I can’t trust myself. Isn’t this why the Lord says to us, “Worship God only.”
Believe it or not, I would love some feedback on this issue. We are all part of this painting of life in this place of testing. So we are all vulnerable to the same problem I’ve laid out here on the table to eat.
By His Grace.
