Hope for the Helpless.

For those who suffer with great weights and sadness.  Even you who are bound by sickness and pain, Jesus is enough to help you.  I remember how I balked at this.  My understanding was so very limited.  I had no hope or help.  But in turning to Him with a sincere request for help, He came to me and helped. 

What I say is not religion.  It is the Living God acting among the people of this world.  He is REAL.  And He is willing to help far more than you know to ask.  Only humble yourself and ask.

The desire for “being loved” is a strong engine. We see people do amazingly stupid things just for the notion of being loved. And God set the bar higher than our innate desire for love. In many ways God has said, “I set this consuming fire before you. Enter it and you will receive pure love”.

For all the stupid things we do to get a notion of love. Few are willing to die for it.

You have spent your years gathering what you cannot keep.  You have built a name for yourself.  But have you built up a place in your life for God’s name?  It is your lot to live just a few tiny years more (if God allows).  What name will you present to the Glorious God on the Day of Judgment? 

“I was captain of the football team when I was a teen.  I am worthy to enter Your eternity”.

“I was a beautiful woman.  Every where I went men looked my way.  Since I’m beautiful, let me enter”.

“I was successful at making money.  I didn’t let anyone over take me in the market.  And I acquired millions.  Let me work for you, God, and I’ll make you money too”.

“I was a drunk.  But I have a great sense of humor. Let me enter and I’ll bring you tons of laughter”.

“I was a lonely man.  I threw away a perfectly good marriage.  And I regret what I did.  No one will care about me anymore.  Let me come in and I will not bother anyone”.

“I was a very religious woman.  I set the record straight for many a wayward person.  Every time I saw someone doing bad I chided them for it.  Let me in and I’ll keep your people straight for you”.

And on it goes.  Billions of people trying to excuse themselves from serving the Holy God of Eternity.  Do you think these people are a bit over the top?  We all know these people exist.  And they’re sure they can wiggle their way into His Good Graces because they were special.

No one will be allowed into eternity, but he who does the will of the Father in Heaven.  Don’t be fooled!  This is the Place of Testing.  God is testing the hearts of every man, woman, and child RIGHT NOW.  What is the will of the Father?  Believe on the Son of God.  Believe to the point of obedience.  It has been refered to as “The Faith”.

Feeling Like God Doesn’t Care About You?

I can’t remember who the preacher was.  He was speaking of Jesus’ request that the Father take this cup from him.  He said what I believe was right:

It was not the pain of having his beard pulled out  that caused such agony.
It was not the beatings across his sinless face.
it was not the spit dribbling down his face.
It was not the humiliation of being mocked for being the Son of God.
It was not the bone and glass shards which ripped the skin off his back.
It was not the trek to Golgotha.
It was not the nails tearing through his hands and feet.
It was that moment we heard him cry, “My God!  My God!  Why have You forsaken me!”

He knows.  I say it again, He knows about the feeling of being removed from His Loving Father.  And all He did to deserve that was to Love His Father’s will unto death.

By sin I’ve kept strong hold

Of the message yet untold.

He fills my breath with wonderous things.

I’ve stifled what is Good.

And closed the Holy Hood.

And yet His message burns within.

I’ll take Your Gift of Life!

And cease my endless strife.

My hands go limp around the strap,

Behold! 

My God is Now Unleashed!

AWAKE!

Awake!  Awake!  Awake!  You are about to encounter the maker of your finger prints!  When it comes, the time will show the Majesty of the God you now place second (or whatever place you give Him).  Hold up your heads, you people of the Most High God.  Our time draws close.  We are near the door! 

World, you sleep in contentment.  Woe to you!  You gain every desire and moan when you are denied.  Count your foolishness in the light of the Most High God.  WAKE!  How rude will be the awakening as the Most High God enters time.
