Pretending Means Nothing

You cannot be a rich man simply because you know rich men exist. You cannot be a hero simply because you know there are men who are heroes.

It is hideously foolish to boast of something we are not. And simply because our ancestors and friends were something, it does not make us so.

You cannot be something while what you own is nothing. The tally never lies. Those who can’t count can be fooled. But there is One who counts perfectly.

You cannot be a blazing Christian unless your soul is blazing with the things of the Lord God Almighty. At best you can only be a decent citizen of this world.

The judgment of God never sleeps. He knows those who are his. He knows what kind of people they are, for he has made them so. He knows what they endure. He knows those who struggle for his Holy sake.

We can say anything we want about ourselves. Truth either bears witness for us or stands as a mighty wall against us.

Prime time to make a proper assessment.

The Intangible Key

This is what I am learning from God.

No religion of man will produce the key to the front door of God’s house. At best it can only bring us to within sight of His Holy Mountain (perhaps even a rise in the ground at the foothills). This is also true of altered Christianity.

We should not be deceived by our own mind; NOTHING inhabits the things of God’s land but the things of God. Utter truth and perfect sobriety are the consuming joy of Christ’s kingdom.

Anything other than Christ is nothing more than a passing dot of a shadow in a darkened place. Life is Life. Everything else is death.

Even those who make a religion out of telling others about these things will find their religion has an end. Evangelism and prophecy will not save us. It can only lead others to such as this post. For the day will come when no one will say to his neighbor “Know ye the Lord”. All things will be revealed to all God’s creatures.

Let’s stop drinking our own fermented opinions. May we sober up.

Learn with me. On what are you placing all your hope? Have you examined your religion; those things you are doing because you think they please God?

Worms Made Human!

David, the king of Israel, the benchmark for the people to show them a relationship with the Living God.

He saw another man’s wife bathing on a rooftop. He commanded that she should be brought to him. He did what is unspeakable before God. Then to add to his sin, he commanded that her husband should be murdered on the battlefield.

He destroyed the wife of another man. He destroyed a family. He had a husband, father, and honorable man murdered. He was consumed with his own desire, mindless of the lives of God’s people or the sure consequences. Let your mind put the story on the streets of today in America. See it for what it is.

What is the story to us? It is proof of salvation. It is proof of God’s will to impart life to the dead. In the account, David shows us who we are.

Do you feel sometimes that you were not worthy to go to prayer? Read the story and understand.

Do you feel sometimes that there is no way God can save you; you have gone too far, your sin is too great? Read the story and understand.

The salvation of any man is a miracle. That any of us can believe the promise: that God has made a place for us for eternity other than the grave. This is a vast, boundless, wondrous, and unspeakable miracle. Amazing that what is unholy should believe it has a place in what is utterly Holy.

It is God’s will that you believe this. It is God’s will that you come to him. We do not go to him because we are worthy to be received. We go to him for the sake of his honorable and righteous Holy name. Remember how he sealed his will with his own Holy blood. We go to him because we believe.

David has received eternal life. Believe and receive the same.

Hope and Help

As a child it is not difficult to find someone who believes in you.  The only difficulty is proximity.  Are those who can believe in you close enough for you to touch and receive.

But let childhood pass.  Let the people begin to notice your faults, and those who believe in you will quickly dissipate in number.  Now let the person become an adult, full of fault, like a filthy glass filled with reeking mud.  We will find no one left to believe in our potential [frankly, this is not an aberration. We simply don’t have any more potential to love] but those who require a payment of some kind.  The love we need, we have to buy.   Isn’t it said that the world loves the rich, while the pauper remains ignored; destitute of adoration.

Now we see destruction run rampant in every heart.  Woe to the rich man when his money runs out.  Woe to the poor man who cannot buy love.  And especially, woe to the man who has used his mind to be loved by so many.  For the mind will surely waste away to nothing.

You will say to me, that’s what a strong relationship is for; someone who will love you regardless your faults.  But what should you say if no such relationship comes?  And why should you hope in something that everyone knows is incredibly rare?  How many fables revolve around “true love”.

Who are you then?  You were nothing more than an empty body; hated and despised simply because you need to draw air.  Your station in love will not increase.  You will become less and less and less.  How many old folks waste away with no one left to love them?  They enter the grave poorer than they were when they were born.

Do you think this is too harsh?  How many live like that for the majority of their life?  How many become invisible even while they are here among us?

Here I must say that Christ is enough.  He can reclaim and love and make you valuable.  But even in that love, despair returns from time to time.  We find they did not love the Lord when he was here among them.  And even God has said they have hated me for no reason, he is righteous in Christ and full to overflowing with love and potential.  How much more will they despise the unrighteousness within us?

Most people come into this world greatly loved. But also, most people leave this world despised and empty.   Do not be fooled by the plenitude of beautiful stories.

I could leave it like this and most people would say amen.  And I confess that today I do not have many more words in regard to this.  But I look to my own soul to find the hope of Christ that lays for us beyond the grave.  If he has proven his love for us while we are still filthy, how much more will we know his love when he takes away our mechanism of sin forever?

To the non-Christian I say, believe and experience The Hope.  To the Christian I say remember, dig deep, struggle hard against the sorrow in your heart, remember his promise.  It is enough.  When there is nothing left, he is that part of our soul that refuses to be destroyed.

Today I do not have much strength.  I have proofed this with half my heart.  Perhaps I will come back a little while later and look it through.  But what I had to say is written here, not hard to decipher past the mistakes.

No Big Surprise

Who are you?

Who do you want to be?

I mean, besides all the hype,

Can your mind even see?

Heroes abound

Man, they’re all around!

But how did they get where they are?

Imagination.

Is that the key?

It hasn’t worked for me.

You played the princess.

You played the prince.

It’s been downhill

Ever since.

You need some help,

Beyond these things.

It’s Jesus you need,

The King of Kings!

You nod your head.

Or you roll your eyes.

As if my words

Are no surprise.

But if you know,

And don’t respond,

How can you go

A bit beyond?

Define Profit

To command and audience is to beg greed to come and destroy innocence. Similar to a healthy and contented man devising ways to end his life.

Compromise will entertain humanity. Accolades will surely follow. Profit will come visit. And what was intended to be best among man quickly turns sour and destructive. It becomes a hint of truth, not the blazing, holy, Life filled words of God.

I could earn money arranging words. A great many have. All they have to do is throw water on the fire. But what I write is freely given. None of it comes from me. And it is wise to fan the flames, not water them down.

It would be like a salesman who is sent by a strong merchant to sell wares along the road, and as the people stop and purchase, the salesman puts the profit in his own pocket. When he returns to the one who sent him what reward will he turn over?

The merchant has been generous. He has sold beautiful, expensive, rare, lasting, and precious things to an unworthy and impoverished rabble. How could the salesmen be so greedy? How could the salesman be so stupid? What possible use is he to those he was sent to help? And how will the salesman be received by the one who sent him.

No. I am of the unworthy and impoverished rabble. Let me receive the things that belong to me. Let me work with my hands, as the example of the Apostle Paul shows us.

The last thought this:

When I offer the pure things of my Master, the impoverished rabble will pass me by. Even this is profit to my Master. What then, is the payment for the things he offers so freely? And how grotesque to receive money and praise for such work done?
