Where is He?

All day long and into the deepest of night, men roust about doing what men do.  From time to time trouble visits.  It is then that man asks, “Where is God in all this trouble?”  Since there is no answer from the Most High, men fabricate answers of their own.

But God is here, my friends.  He is working even to this day to sustain the very place where you question His motives.  He sustains the sun that crops might grow.  He brings rain and life that you might look up to Him and give Him proper worship.  He is life.  Wherever you find life, there is God.

We can’t hear it, but there is a great amount of activity in heaven for the sake of those who ask where God is in all their troubles.  You can’t see them come and go on your behalf.  Regardless, the Lord is busy sustaining this place of testing.  Even while He and His Holy servants are building the place of Joy for all who are found to love Him.

I wonder if man would care if they could see the activity of the Lord all around them.  I fear that man’s tendency to be profane would discount holy Angels as mere irritants.  Perhaps it is to your benefit that you can’t see or hear their activity on behalf of the Holy Lord of Life.  For then you would fall into a sin which, for now, you are incapable.

You’re a Christian, huh?

How can it be described?  How can words express the surprise, peace, acceptance, and tears that appear when the Lord Jesus comes to touch and whisper love to us?

One moment you’re living your life.  The next moment you’re on your knees sobbing like a little child.  His touch is that powerfully packed with love.  But how can it be described?

You think you’re a Christian.  I won’t take that away from you.  In fact, you might be the very brother or sister I will live next to for eternity.   But can we talk about what can be expected by those who say they love the Lord of Life?

Have you shed tears like that?  Have you ever been in a setting and found yourself filling with appreciation about the things of God?  What did you do?  Did you shut them down lest anyone see a drop of emotion manifest itself on the outside of your body?  Or did you let it consume you, knowing that what is unseen and unheard will be visible to all and yelled from the roof tops?  But those are things of the flesh.  Those are things we can accomplish.

I’m pointing to that specific and immeasurably different experience we strive to express when we have been touched by the Lovely One.  I will restrain my fingers here.  For I was about to dive into psalm about Him.  What good would that do if you haven’t experienced His nearness yet?

Instead, I will testify that there is a touch of God in this world!  He is not distant!  “In Him we live and move and have our being.”  Our souls are dark and willingly hide from Him.  But open yourself to the Lord of Life.  Hope, dream, expect and pray that He will touch you.  He is willing.  He is simply waiting for the proper moment.  It will be a moment when you least expect it.  And He will whisper His love and understanding to you.  Tears WILL flow.

By His Grace.

Just be happy!

I see people celebrate situations in life.  I am told I should be happy for them.   And I know that often people are irritated that they must remind me to be happy for others.

Should I lie and say I am happy because you bought a new car?   Should I lie and say I am happy that you have a new boyfriend?  Should I lie and say I am pleased that you are near retirement and I know you will have a good time?  Should I lie about the hundreds of things people experience in this world?

Where has the joy of the Lord been, as we celebrate life?  Where has the celebration been because we share the joy of salvation together?  Where has been the delight in God’s law between us?  It was never good and pleasant between us as we climbed the steps to his temple.  How can I be pleased for you in the things of this world when you are not busily acquiring the things of Eternity?

I fear you will die being perfectly pleased with your life on this earth.  They will all speak well of you, and they will recount the wonderous times of joy you had together.  But I will find no joy in your passing.  For you made no attempt to be at peace with the God you have gone to meet.

How could you!

A man caught in a small amount of trouble receives the accusation that if he were given the chance he would do far worse.  When asked to explain himself, the accuser goes on to describe some heinous crime.  And in the accusation he points at the poor man as if this man had already done these things.  From his own wicked imagination the accuser hopes to destroy another.

Sadly I am not just writing fiction here.  This happens all day long across the entire surface of the globe.  From their wicked imagination men blame others for faults they do not possess.  Then, as if that were not sufficient, they turn to look at the ugliness around them and blame God.

They themselves have caused this putrid stench.  Yet they have the gall to blame God.  But the Lord will remain blameless, for even as they accuse He holds out his hand that He may save them.

For now they do not know righteousness.  They do not know love.  They do not know kindness, mercy, or justice.  They do not know the living God we serve through Jesus The Son.   But this is why I have written this post.  I write this that some may come to their senses and learn from Him who is Love.

Unspeakable Joy

I was sitting here, mindlessly playing a video game (bloons, if someone asks).  I’m considering the way things are.  Waiting for the dawn.

I gave some thought to the promises of God and all heaven let loose in my mind.  Here ya go:

God does not lie.  So anyone who believes on the Son of God for their salvation, will receive it.  That means all the promises of God for eternal joy are mine!

I get to love the Lord for eternity!  I get to see the face of Jesus and not be ashamed!   I get to live and not die the second death!  I get to see the great men and women of God, and enjoy them!   If I enjoy the things of this creation, trees, sky, wind, etc.  then how much more will the new earth please those who live there?

Then the reality of all this hit me.  “Quiet”!  Don’t speak of these things too loudly or often.  There are millions who won’t understand.  Even some of those I love now won’t understand.  They will, in fact, take my joyful celebration as an offence.

So I preach.  I speak of God and His beauty.  But I do so, for their sakes, in rather subdued tones.  The promises are mine!  But so is the desire to save others.  And what good will it do if any of their hatred for God’s promises (which non-belief is) falls between they and I?  So I realized that I have “Unspeakable Joy”!!!!!!!!!

A reflection of Fog at Twilight

“In Him we live and move and have our being”.

“Now we see as through a glass darkly”.

I speak but I am limit.  I understand but only through destruction.  I use words but they are limited by my vocabulary.  And if I happen to say the right things would I perceive it? Could you hear it?

Before “this” was, there was more.  When this place is gone, eternity will lack nothing for its demise.  What was before is living and cannot die. What will be is the same as what was.

” Jesus Christ is the same yesterday today and forever”.  “Those who put their hope in Him will never be ashamed”.

We who place our hope in him were not, now we are and we will never die.  Perhaps you think this is too much to say.  God does not lie and God has promised this.

By His Grace.
