The Two Fold Message

The Gospel is a two fold message of promises from God, through Christ Jesus, to all men.  On one hand, and first, is the message of sure death.  This is to be delivered to the world with all wisdom and courage.  It is the message of God to those who are already judged because they have not believed in the One and Only True God through Jesus’ sacrifice.  They will hate this message.  And they will desire to destroy anyone who brings it to their ears.

The other side of the message of God is that of mercy and tenderness.  And this is to be delivered to everyone who humbles themselves under the Mighty hand of God.  In this message are rebukes, for the heart of man is desperately wicked and must be caused to submit to the Holy Will of God.  But even in the rebukes we find the Mercy that flows from the Throne of He who is forever.

Do not listen to those who say God is love and He will accept every man.  Only that which is God will enter eternal life.  And to the measure that you have accepted God’s rule in your life, that measure of you will be allowed to enter His presence.  Nothing unholy will ever stand before the Lord of Life.  Only what God has built will last.  Submit yourselves to God and learn from Him.  The more you delay the less time you have left.

Jesus Christ is the exact representation of the Holy Father.  And He is the same yesterday, today, and forever.  What was expected of the servants of God from the beginning still remains as an expectation of His servants today.  Man has watered down this message.  But God remains the same.

Faith? What Faith?

“They will have a form of godliness but deny the power of it”.  Why?

Have you ever asked yourself why you shrink back from becoming a power house?  What is it about us that we are willing to accept the thought of eternal life and peace in this life.  But we shudder at the thought of becoming a serious witness for the Lord in any place He chooses.  Why are we so very timid about our faith?

Is it because we really don’t have any faith?  Is it possible that all we’ve done with the Lord God of Life is receive the idea that He can do certain things?  Maybe we don’t really believe that God is able, willing, and yearning to display His power through His people.  “Oh, that stuff is fine on the mission field.  But it’s got no use where I live.”

While you’re busy thinking today.  And you will certainly think.  Take a good look at your witness for the Lord.  How come it’s so very tiny?  I’m not asking you to raise the dead by the power of your Lord.  I’m just asking that you be honest about the faith you think you have.

Jesus; all the proof I need.

Many chide the Christian because they say, “There is no God”.  I don’t really care what you think of me and the Lord who has proven Himself to me.  Proven?  Absolutely.  Proven!  Here’s your quandary:

If you want proof that the Lord Jesus exists and is the God who made all that is, believe.  As you believe you will receive the proof that the Lord Jesus exists and is the God who made all that is.

During the night there was a loud noise.  I went downstairs to check it out.  Looked around.  Went out to sit on the porch a while and listen.  There was no sign of anything.  I went back in to see if anything had been moved.  Nothing could be found to support the noise I had heard.

People without the “proof” of God would have been on edge.  I wasn’t.  There was a great peace about me.  This is not the man I used to be.  The slightest noise would wake me and every nerve I own would have been on alert.  But there was great peace.  My looking around was more a curiosity than a search for danger.  Why?  Because the Lord Jesus has proven to me that He is the creator of all that is.  And that I belong to Him!  He is enough, within me, to cause me to live at rest no matter the circumstances.

You want proof of what I say?  Then believe.  As you believe and live according to His word, you will begin to recognize the proof I speak of.  If you continue to only chide those who say they have what they call proof, you will remain locked outside the proof you want.

Truth or Dare: Liberals, Moderates, and Conservatives

In the world of politics the title of this post is true.  Those are three categories we could all identify in some fashion.  This is also true in the world of social norms.  Some people will cross the road regardless where the cross walk is.  And they don’t pay much attention to traffic (as long as they think they won’t get hit).  Others will only cross the road if they think it’s something others do rather often.  They check both ways for safety sake.  They consider where they are and try to remember if they’ve seen a dead person on the road where they’re thinking of walking across.  Then there are those who will always use the cross walk, waiting patiently for the lights to change.

Christianity is no different.  There are those who will water down the Bible so that they feel good about themselves regardless what the Scripture says.  They say to themselves (and to God), “My intentions are good.  God will understand my limitations and greet me with joy come the day of judgment”.

There are those who watch the political and social landscape of the Church and adapt themselves to whatever wind of change or norm they perceive about them.  They neither study the Scripture for themselves, nor allow their ears to hear truth.  They’re far more interested in “fitting in”.

Then we find those who have understood their personal responsibility.  They understand that they will be held accountable for every written Word of God.  And they study with diligence.  They encounter a truth and, regardless the social or political makeup of the Church, will strive to adapt their mind and actions to accommodate the demands of God.

Liberal, moderate, conservative, which are you?

Serving the Master

A brick wall

The great difficulty in Christianity is not performing up to the Master’s expectations; that is, to live the Law of God.  The greatest problem we find is humbling ourselves enough to ask for His power to overcome.  The real and immense barrier to being a productive Christian is pride.

I saw a young man’s blog post speaking of how he turned away from Christianity because he didn’t experience anything from the God of Christianity.  He was expecting something “other” as he searched out the Bible.  I will respond here with something that all God’s people come to realize.

When I pray, it’s like speaking to the wind.  I say words and wait for a reply.  Yet that reply often never comes in the form of a sound.  It rarely comes in the immediate understanding of my mind.  And sometimes I walk away from prayer feeling nothing at all.

But God is not silent as we refer to silence.  And would we foolish men comprehend the thoughts of God if He gave them to us?  No.  But there is a way in which prayer never goes unanswered.

A man walked up to a brick wall which was covered with gold.  As was the tradition of the people, he knelt down and spoke to what was said to be on the other side of the wall.  He asked to understand things so that he might do what is right.  He got up, searched his mind and heart, and walked away shrugging his shoulders.  He felt no change at all.

Later on, he walked by a place on the sidewalk where there was a piece of paper which had not been thrown away.  Right next to the paper was a trash can.  Contrary to his normal tendency to just pass it by, he stooped, picked up the paper and threw it into the trash can.  Without noticing that he had just done what was right, he walked on sad that his prayer hadn’t been answered.
