What Price? What Cost?

💸💰💵💷💶💴

For an agenda the people are sold. And the payment for them rots before it reaches the hand of he who sold them.

“I want this.”

“Well, l want that.”

Off they go to get what they want. It never turns out as pristine as their imagination told them it would be.

God has an agenda. Who wants to agree with Him?

The only time it’s too late is when you no longer breathe the air of this world.

The Unpopular Desire

The antonym of adultery and greed is faithfulness.

I don’t want their bodies.  I don’t want their possessions.  I don’t want their accolades.  I don’t want their love.  I want their souls to love God eternally.

Victorious in Loss

Among people, who are those who suffer well?  It is those who own nothing of what they own.

These are prepared to lose everything, even while they have it all.  It is the one who is determined, while in wealth and health, to die penniless and miserable.  This one cannot be held hostage to expectations full of error.  If prosperity of possessions continues to a peaceful death in his own bed, such a one will have lived his life without fear of loss.

Though all he has is taken.  Though sickness viciously tears at his body.  Though the wicked greed of man rips his belongings from his control.  This one will prosper.

Yet is it enough to be stoic in our life?  Is it necessary to pass by the loaf of bread while you have money and hunger?  Is it right to purchase the rust bucket chariot so that you will suffer the pains of upkeep?  Is it required of us to live under a pile of leaves in a part of the forest we don’t, and can’t own?  Such people are not being responsible with what has been given them.

What provokes the Responsible life?  Is it the desire of a man to become completely humble among all men?  That mind-set is produced from the pride of life.  Pride can’t, by its very nature, produce humility.  Such a man might feel pretty proud of himself, after all, he has forsaken what other people crave.   But his humility is crushed by a whisper of pride.

Jesus provokes the true strength of life.  His strength in a man is beyond ALL the things of this world.  Because His teaching and “in dwelling” comes from Heaven; a place which has never entertained the temporary wealth of this place.  And NEVER will.

If we want to be strong.  If we want to endure with stellar conviction.  If we want to live that “over coming” life, we will have to appropriate the teaching and character of the Lord Jesus.  While we live in relative peace, it is best to be prepared for the worst.  Let us not compile “things” so that we will be able to endure hardship.  Let us prepare our heart to be God’s champion, even if the entire world comes after us.

How does cancer become a trophy to be desired?  How does molestation become a crown of joy?  How does losing our job, or place in the family,  become a stepping stone to eternally born victory?  All these things, and the myriad of things that can happen to a person, become glory when we embrace failure.  We love our weakness, because it gives us an opportunity to overcome!  Even our own sins can become trophies of Grace.  Such things  can produce a certain kind of humility that cannot be manufactured by the desire of a man.  Nor can it be purchased by any of our possessions.

We encounter hardship for the sake of Christ.  We encounter hardship for the sake of testifying that God’s love and promise are vastly more, and true, than anything the world can provide.  We testify that life can be lived, even while this world has strapped us to a post in the middle of a raging fire.  We can clap our charred hands, even while the skin of our bodies walks toward becoming a lump of coal.  Thus, we encourage others to love the God who bestows such incredible strength.

Let us testify that God in us, is greater than all things.  Prosperity, health, wealth, sickness, persecution, joy, poverty, alienation, or fame,  cannot take away the riches of Christ in any man!  It is the man who counts any of these things as more valuable or stronger than the promise of God.  This is the one who will likely lose it ALL.

America the “Beautiful”

Who am I but a small man; obscure and lost among the crowd.  I am no one, that you should listen to me.  And if you saw me you would even think less of my value.

I am not a smart man in the way the world counts intelligence.  I am not a rich man that you should come to me to borrow.  And I am no philosopher that you should give me the robe and regal cap to wear.

But I was born in America.  In America I suffered greatly under the hands of vicious bullies all my days of youth.  And so my perception is keen to watch for such things.

I see that the pride of life secretly  gives birth to violence.  A man perceives he is greater than the weaker.  So he plots to destroy, that the plunder may increase.  Yes America, I know you.

You have many who restrain their desire, but the desire remains even as weeds in their garden.  You gloss over your wickedness and say, “I am only human.”  And so you disguise the terror you wield.

You say, We must do something about the iniquity among our people.”  And what is the something you do?  You create new laws of man.  All the while the violence increases.  You would say, “We can do nothing it seems to be out of hand!”   Yet you turn to more enforcement.

Bloodied children fill your streets.  The week cry out with no one to rescue them.  But you have conspired to make better laws.  And this is the answer you will continue to give.

Yes I have lived in America and I have seen these things.  Your pride is in what you will do.  But your own doing only makes matters worse.

Why don’t you humble yourself before God?  Why don’t you leaders, who make these ridiculous laws, fall on your knees on the floor of Congress and pray?  Remain there until the Holy One comes to give you wisdom.

Why will you not cease to rely on your own laws?  It is because you have made laws that bully you into agreeing with the liar.  You have forfeited your own freedom.

They say “We will do as we please.  No one stands against us and we will take what we can lay our hands on.  We will make more laws, and force America to become a place of plunder.”

You do not remember that God sees everything.  He is quiet, and so you think you have his blessing.  You think you can move with impunity and gain whatever you desire.  All the while your streets become more and more violent.

I fear you are past the place of waking.  I fear a coma of ignorance has covered you in the darkness.  For the love of money and power you have forsaken your own children.  And their cries testify against you.

God will not stay silent forever.  He will rise up and you will be utterly destroyed.

If the path you were on led to prosperity, there would be peace in your streets.  But how can peace come, when you yourself instigate war within your own house?

If it is at all possible, you are urged to wake!  If you have gone too far, prepare to be destroyed.

What you have taught your children will rise up and destroy you.  The riches with which you have spoiled them, will rot before your very eyes.  There will be nothing left to plunder.  All you will be left with, is an empty banquet table, from which you can eat nothing.

Get Rich or Die Trying

Dear man:

The cute girl has become a nun.  With your mouth you say it is a good choice for her.  But with your heart you ridicule her ways.  She has removed herself from the pageantry of lust.  And now you must strike out her name from those you desire.  A great burden for the lust of young men.

A man has started going to church.  You call him to come attend your party.  But he says he has more important things to do.  With your lips you say he has become a good man.  But your heart looks forward to the joy of drunkenness.  And you are at a loss to explain this change in your friend.  You think you have lost him.

The world does not know, understand nor ask.  They are like a child whose friend has moved away.  All they know is that they will have to rearrange their days to maintain the pleasure they once had.

Young men go on adventures together.  To the water or to the mountains they seek out the joys of curiosity.  They speak together in peaceful places about the things of life.  Then one gets married leaving the others to themselves.

Such things are expected in the world.  Though his young friends don’t appreciate their loss, they do understand.  They too are expected to marry someday.  So with that loss there is some knowledge and understanding and asking.

But when a man or woman retreats from this world to marry the sovereign God in Jesus, men consider it an anomaly.  I have heard many refer to the Lord’s people as Jesus freaks.

If the man had gone to Islam or become a Hindu or some other worldly religion, men seem to understand willingly.  Such religions base themselves in the teaching of men.  But Christianity bases itself in the teaching of God.  And men fail to be able to answer.

The world thinks it odd that they do not run into the flood of dissipation they once enjoyed.  Christians chace after the unseen with apparant abandon.   The world cannot possibly understand.  So it counts Christians as vile people.

But what the world misses is more important than what it has.  They live by the rule of this world which will be destroyed; a life built on perception of tangible things.  The people of the Lord live by the rule of heaven which is of eternity; the beautiful and incorruptible things of God.

I write this to the people of the world, to show them that Christians understand.  I find it curious that we understand you, for we are from you.  But you do not understand us, for you have never been from us.

We have moved to the place of life.  You continue to walk blindly in the place of death.  It would be a pleasure if you would even ask.  But you seal the door between us, giving yourself no edge toward life.  We care.

You fear losing the things you have been told are most important.  We testify that we too received the lie in regard to the world.  We testify that life in the Lord Jesus is the fullness of truth.  But you consider Christians misguided.   How curious that the lie becomes more important than the truth.  Ask yourself, which was here first, God or the world.

This is all I can do for you.  I continue to live as the Lord prescribes; by the life he gives me I testify to you.  I continue to listen to him and do what he says.  I write these things as often as I can find ways to tell you.  But in the end, the choice is yours to ask.

Those who live in the land you love will die.  They will not see eternal life.  Those who live with the Lord of love will live forever, though they must pass from this place in a death of the body.

The life you lead now is under your own rule.  You do not consider the rule of God to be important.  Yet you think you will be received for your honorable ways among men.  Or worse, you do not think about these things at all.

Any man may appeal to God, with earnest heart, and become a Christian.  I am not speaking of the “acceptable Christianity” of this world.  There is a distinct and vibrant difference my friend.

The Christian is taught, by the Lord Himself, to give up the things of this world and follow after the ways of Christ.  The world accepts going to church as the fullness of Christianity.  Therefore they are amazed at those who follow after what is true.

You do not ask but you are being told.  You do not seek but it comes to you everyday.  What will you do?

Great news!!!

Hey there studly guy!  Howdy gorgeous woman!  Have you heard the news lately?  Scientists are saying with a slight tweak to the genetic material they can cause us to live for 500 years!  Whooo hoooo!!!!!!

You might think that’s good news, but its not.  Even if they invent that tweak  tomorrow morning and you happen to have enough money to purchase a dose of whatever they make, you’re still gonna die.

Yep.  You’re going to get old and wrinkly.   Your bones are going to give out on yah.  Your eyes won’t work too well.  And you’re going to turn up your TV really loud.

Then the day will come. The Sun will shine.  The birds are going to chuirp.  People will laugh, cry, eat, and dance.  But you won’t be here.  Nope you just won’t be here.

I’m not going to bother to tell you where you will find yourself on that day.  You wouldn’t listen to me if I told you.  And you wouldn’t change your life if you let me talk to you.

I just wrote this little piece for you,  in case the Lord happens to be merciful and cause you to drop by here.

There’s no need to tell you to have a good day.  That’s the entire focus of your life isn’t  it.

By the way, my hope’s name is Jesus.
