Armchair Humans

The world is in trouble. Everything that can be wrong is wrong. Why bother to itemize the list.

Everyone is a critic. Everyone seems to know what everyone else should do. And, by golly, they’re not afraid to speak.

What’s missing in all this wicked chaos? Why, the ANSWER is conspicuously missing.

Christ is the ANSWER. And those who know that ought to fill their mouths with repair.

Would you be brave?

Would you be useful?

Then love your fellow man by risking alienation.

Speak of Christ.

Is it time to put your hand down?

Is it time to pull in your index finger?

Is it time to deliver hope instead of accusation or worthless correction?

Armchair priests, judges and executioners. Compassionless, gutless, useless, and fragile people who think they are something simply because they had a thought.

Is it possible that keeping the words of Christ from our brothers of flesh is simply a violent retaliation dressed in the fear and embarrassment that is sure to come? “Let them all burn in hell! I’m intent on saving my own skin.”

Does the body of Christ look down on those who willingly speak the word of God for the sake of His honor and The Hope of their brothers of flesh?

I’ve only asked the questions. The answers are in your heart.

A Bowl of Milk

I am in New Jersey. The godlessness here is astounding.

Yesterday I saw a truck hauling a gold casket. Rebellion against God to the very last. But righteousness will wake him up to present himself as he is sealed. A Sobering thought.

America is like a bowl. The eastern cities, full of the will of man. LA and Seattle, the other side of the rim. Chicago and Detroit, Dallas, Atlanta, Miami, and so on. But in between is what is called the Bible belt.

Yes. America is like a bowl of milk. Some of its contents has splashed along the rim. But the nutrition is mostly settled in the middle.

Nuttin

For now we live under the specter of death. Fear controls our every thought and action. But that will not always be so.

To be clear, God did not create death. Logically speaking, it is an oxymoron to create death. Death is nonexistent. It is impossible to create nothing. Rather, it was one of God’s creatures who chose to become nothing.

Pure life which is God can never cease. Anything that is not God has no purity nor eternity in it. How endlessly precious and utterly important then is the gospel of Christ?

Value

Value. Such an underestimated foe. Such an underestimated friend.

Value is perceived from where we are. But memory and hope are unique perspectives of their own. They are shadows and sunshine to an otherwise grey and obscure life.

If we are only people of the present then we are pitiful indeed. And if as a “present” people, we are locked in the things that were, we are more than pitiful. Then we live as if we are mortally struck with horror that tomorrow will be like all the rest of our days have been. Thus many live their lives void of any hope.

But time is not complete without what will be. What will you be is the driving source of life. It is hope. We cannot be complete without hope. The greater the hope the more vibrant the life.

Without Christ we can only hope that we will somehow survive each day. But with his promise we are infinitely more and set free to live.

In a variety of ways God has said this, “In my son, what I have been is yours, what I am is yours, what will yet be is yours”.

The enemy wants to lock you in hopelessness. He tears at your mind, heart, body and soul by distracting you with futility. “Lock them in uselessness, lest they look up and be released.”

Look up. Fix your whole being on the promises of God. Let yourself be consumed with Christ Jesus. Be released.

Tools of the Trade

A curious observation:

The Romans were fixated on death. It was their form of authority, entertainment, and motivation to do what is right. Prosperity meant mingling of blood and money.

For the most part, today’s society is fixated on peace and longevity. It has to be said that they worship these. The majority of people don’t worship God they worship their own tranquility. Prosperity means apathy and money.

Still the world is no better off, because the presence of God is ignored just like it was in the days of Rome. The soul is only considered for the betterment of the man.

The tools of the trade have changed. But the trade remains, glorify Man.

Crowd Control

They came in among them, but they did not know the God who gave the Christians their religion. So they practiced the words. They mimicked the faithful; for as their eyes could only see Man, the things of Man they used for their advantage.

They rose to powerful position, still not knowing the God of the Christians. They were just like Simon the magician. They exercised the power of Man’s laws of violence over as many men as they could gather. Imprisonment, torture and death were the tools of their ungodly trade.

They did not see themselves equal to the Pharisees who crucified Christ. No, in their mind they were exempt from the same judgment. They knew nothing of Holy, but they will.

1200 years after the birth of Christianity we can see history tell us what would have come if Simon had gotten his way.

But tattletales and spies are not enough to rule the masses. It is better to teach the children to be politically correct. They will rule their parents. And the devil will have his way.

Do you know the God behind the religion of the faithful? Or are you just a pawn of rulers like them; Control the mind and you have the man?
