Theology.

Theology is the “God knowledge”.  Men use that term to study God as one would study a germ.  They dissect the Bible as though it were a dead frog.  But that is not what I mean by the use of that word.

Theology is a seeking after the Holiness of God.  It is not a scientific Christianity.   Seeking God is useful to all.  Scientific debate is useful for no one.  The former changes lives.  The latter tends to “puff up”.  (This post would surely ruffle the puffy feathers of those who hold their brains so dear.)

An Itty Bitty Christ?

There is a popular belief that we are suppose to be “little christs”.  And to some extent this has a strong basis in truth.  But I find something more.  In the seeking of Jesus I encounter that “something more”.

I’ve heard and seen the Church try to encourage each other to be “little christs”.  And I’ve watched that fail time after time.  I do not draw people to Jesus.  That’s the Father’s job.  Men are drawn to Jesus by His Holy Hand.  It’s my part to simply tell of what He has done for me.  I am, by no means, a “little christ”.  I am one who has received the gift of eternal life from the One who is Life.

In being the servant of the Most High God, I find myself being used.

The timid.

It is the bold who serve the Lord.  Though He will empower the timid, they do not remain timid.  Once we encounter the Lord of Life, there is a boldness which creeps into our soul.  The more we know Him, the more power we receive.  He did not give us a Spirit of timidness, but of BOLDNESS

Religion vs “The Faith”.

The difference between a true Christian and one who is only a religious Christian is that religion talks “about” God.  The true Christian will find their feet taking them right into the consuming fire of God’s presence.   While the religious recite the words of others, “The Faith” causes us to utter the words of the Holy Spirit as we seek His beautiful face.

Religion speaks about the experiences of those who have tasted the actual presence of God.  Much like the reading of a true story can inspire the reader, so these people find inspiration from the testimony of those who experience His Holy presence.  But “The Faith” is not like that.  “The Faith” is built by presenting one’s self to the very eyes of God.  Submitting to the judgment of God in every nook and cranny of one’s life.

There is a serious and distinct difference between religion and faith.  And it is wise to seek the latter.  The world chides God’s people because of the former.  Consider, with sobriety, which you are.  If you are in “The Faith”, you know it.  If you’re only playing Christian, you know it.  Every man stands before the Lord God of Eternity, naked and laid bare.  Everything we are is plain to God.  Why would you play with eternity?  This is a place of testing.  Every heart will be tested.  And every heart will be judged according to God’s Holy judgment.  Take seriously what He says.  There is nothing trivial about the judgment of God.

Are You so Special?

Be sober and realize, Jesus is no respecter of men.  The Father’s will is first with Jesus.  At the Father’s word, which will signal the end, Jesus will not hesitate to move.  No matter your state of affairs, the end will come with a suddenness.  Be SOBER!

Blessings

Beware of those who tell you that God will bless the faithful with the things of this world.  The more important issue is not ownership of anything the world offers.  The important issue is the believer’s obedience to the will of God.  Holiness and truth are the marks He is directing His people toward.  In the process, He might have mercy to allow you to own certain things.  But when you search for the “blessings” the world calls blessings, you search amiss.

Consider the Lord Jesus.  Look at how He owned nothing the world calls blessings.  He desired to know and do the will of His Father.  Submit yourself to the will of God regardless the outcome here.  Is it too much to ask that His people suffer for 90 years?  He offers eternity to those who do His Holy will.
