Expedient?

Division is made between the politics of man, which people say is a necessary evil, and the Holy commands of God.  One sides with this because he says it is expedient, another sides with that for the same reason.  Really?  Is that really the best we can do?

I hear from God that the judgement is coming for just such things.

Shall it be necessary for God to say to anyone of us, “You did not stand apart from them.  You did not warn them.  You did not speak of the murderous things men do”.

All for the sake of the mighty dollar.  You cannot serve both God money.  Didn’t he say this?  Why don’t we believe Him?

As a servant of the Most High God in Christ should I pity man because he does these things?  Should I give men quarter and say, “Oh but it is necessary”?  Or is it right to stand with eternity to proclaim the will of God without fear and without compromise?

I am nothing.  I am no one.  But the living God is God of all!

They built a building

Bricks and Mortar stood

Proclamations abounded.

Money, Time, Hopes,

All poured out;

Teaching, Learning, Having.

I went to them.

From what they had, they gave what I would take.

But all man’s strength.

Does not equalholiness

Years of dedication cannot equal one moment spent with the Holy One’s Righteous and Holy Son.

Acid to the Body

Psalm 126 verse 4 has a curious thing to say.  “Bring back our captivity, Oh Lord . . .”

While the nations call for joy, the Lord corrects his people with blazing strength.  While they call for celebration, let the people of God ask for training.

“Before I was afflicted I went astray, but now I keep Your Word.”  (Psalm 119:67)

“Unless your law had been my delight, I would have perished in my affliction.” (Psalm 119: 92)

Do not be like those who revel in wicked abandon.  Do not be like those who “gather” that they may have joy.  Let us be of the Living God’s Holy Son.  Let us train our tongue to love taste of that which is acid to the body, yet sweetness unto eternal life.

Bubble Butt

I had a conversation with a man about Bible prophecy.  He is immeasurably more well versed in prophecy that I can hope to accomplish.  The conversation was stimulating, and I walked away full of reverence and desire for God.

On the way back past the man, the Lord prompted me to speak of purity.  I talked to him about how God is so desirous to see holiness come to fruit in every one of his people.  The response was interesting.

I thought I would hear agreement.  His knowledge of Bible prophecy was impeccable.  Instead, I heard subtle references to justification, and excuses.

I’m not judging the man, I’m looking at all of us.  We might do well in the realm of knowledge, but our application suffers famine.

One thing I felt urged to say stands out in my mind clearly.  You may not think this is a very dignified statement, but it is true none the less:

If a man will do the things of Christ, won’t the Lord tie huge helium balloon to our butt, that we may raise to a place conspicuous usefulness?  And isn’t this the reason why so many Christians live their lives in useless obscurity?

Unexplainable Sadness

We have been accused of self righteousness.  We have been accused of judging others without authority.  They even accuse us of taking joy as we turn their laughter into sobriety.

But I see they do not accuse us for the tears we shed on their behalf.  They do not accuse us of having legs weakened by horrible sadness, because we understand their coming plight.  They do not accuse us of praying earnestly for their sake.  They accused us because they say we don’t care.  But their saying has no foundation.

12 When he opened the sixth seal, I looked, and behold, there was a great earthquake, and the sun became black as sackcloth, the full moon became like blood, 13 and the stars of the sky fell to the earth as the fig tree sheds its winter fruit when shaken by a gale. 14 The sky vanished like a scroll that is being rolled up, and every mountain and island was removed from its place. 15 Then the kings of the earth and the great ones and the generals and the rich and the powerful, and everyone, slavee and free, hid themselves in the caves and among the rocks of the mountains, 16 calling to the mountains and rocks, “Fall on us and hide us from the face of him who is seated on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb, 17 for the great day of their wrath has come, and who can stand?”  (Revelation 6)

War and Peace

Peace, peace?

All my days are thankfully rude; that they may keep alive in me the necessity for holy conversion.

Go seek peace, if that is your desire.  I will rather to enter the war of Christ against myself.  That He may bestow upon me (come that immeasurable day) PEACE which escapes me now.
