The Most

What’s that mean, “The Most”?  The most daring?  The most alluring?  The most powerful?  The shiniest?  The longest?  The quickest?  The most.  Define it any way you can.  But there is a “MOST” that will escape our ability to define.

Jesus is the Son of The Most High God.  What’s that mean?  It means He’s the MOST.  “Well”, some might say, “He is the Son, there is still the Living God above Him”.  I would respond that such words show a distinct lack of understanding regarding the Love of God for His Holy Son, and the nature of God.  And a voice from heaven said, “This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased.”  God isn’t just “ok” with Jesus.  He has given everything over to His Son.

Those who hate the Son, hate the Father as well.  Those who lack a relationship with the Father will not have one with the Son either.  There is no separation between the Father and the Son.  Why is this important?  Because, curiously enough, the world speaks of marvelous things and calls them “most”.   But you’ll never hear the world speak of Jesus in those terms.  God speaks of “MOST” and refers to His Son.

I know what this does to other religions.  I know what these words mean to all other views of religions.  There is one religion, one most, one salvation, one Father, one Jesus, one Holy Spirit, one body of believers marked out by the Lord Himself, and one salvation.  I don’t say this to gain anything.  I say this because God, the Father, has said so Himself.

I can’t possibly care what you think of me for saying so.  Go hammer that out with God the Father.  Right about now, there’d be a fight on the school play ground.  But you can’t fight the Lord of Life.  You’re not even close to His “Play Ground” yet.  And frankly, when you get there, there won’t be an ounce of fight left in you.  But there is sure to be “weeping and gnashing of teeth”.

Seeking Encouragement

My God, what would give me joy?  As I consider what You have shown Your servant regarding the coming judgment, what would give me joy?

I would be joyfilled to hear Your Holy name on the lips of all Your people.  Even if they spoke of Your ways with half a heart I would find encouragement.

It is impossible to ask You to relent.  For all Your ways are Holy and Your judgments beyond reproach.  And I would not have the people die for lack of knowledge.  Thus a purification is necessary.

There will be wailing and misery.  So be it.  But I seek encouragement.  To know that they will receive knowledge of Your ways.  That Your name would begin to leak out of their clamped lips, as even if drewl from a mad man.  To hear Your precious and lovely name escape their lips, as a snore escapes from the lungs of he who sleeps.

I seek that encouragement of Your Holy Spirit which has found a place to grasp within the wayward of Your people.

Love Apparent to All

Seasons

Seasons (Photo credit: *~Dawn~*)

What is this place we inhabit?  The seasons change in their faithfully instructed time, with variations, yet surely differing.  The stars remain steady enough to mark the faithful seasons.

Trees, flowers, mosses, and bushes remain after their own kind produce their fruits.  Snow is faithfully white, rain is always water.  The seas remain within their commanded boundaries.  Clouds appear, drift, and obey the command of the atmosphere.  So many aspects of creation to mention.

And why is all this about and within us?  Because God was pleased to create this “Place of Testing”.  It was sufficient to test the faithfulness of His Son Jesus.  And it is sufficient to test the faithfulness of His Son’s Bride.

Let us, therefore, consider what wonderful opportunity is upon us.  That we should be, by His Grace, counted as worthy to be refined through the same sufferings which fell upon His Son.  And let us consider His very great promises concerning such people.  Let us not perceive any hatred for those things which come against us.  Rather let us embrace each item, large or small, as if it were a kiss from the Holy Lord Most High who determined to love His creation into that perfect rest.

The Annual Testimony

The trees have lost their leaves now.

The crumbling signs of a bountiful harvest produced in better times.

The children find great innocent joy as they play among the piles of testimony.

Even puppies laugh with voiceless mouths as they frolic in the stacks.

But the adults simply sweep them away as if a nuisance.

A stark reminder of knowledge they have gained as they have lived their years.

Purity will soon cover the ground; white and formidable landscape.

A promise yet to come regarding how purity will obscure and receive the harvest from that time of growth.

A Holy harvest approaches and is marked faithfully every year.

How amazingly striking is the difference in the writings of the early Church Elders and the writings of men today who consider themselves elders.  What began our faith is not the same power among men today.  We hear the constant ringing of a limp bell which touts the Love of God in Jesus.  But the dedication unto death is the blazing fire which should have strengthened that bell.

What is called the Church today hands out fuzzy blankets to a people stranded in Arctic conditions, wishes them well, then abandons them to the wiles of wickedness all around them.  I do not say this without foundation.  Purity toward the holy life has dissipated in the rising heat of hell itself among the people today.

I urge you to consider what I have posted here.  The world is not void of their writings.  Yet how many take the time to look into these things?  We have all heard the constant voice which appeals to us to remember the height from which we have fallen.

I am no more than anyone who reads these words.  Indeed, I am far less than even the saints of this day.  But why should we settle for a diluted message?  The call of God is urgent, pure, and sure.  It is the same today as it was in the beginning.  It is only the adaptation of this age which waters down the Gospel to a sweet savor of “love”.  As the love between a husband and wife has been reduced to sexual behavior between adulterers, so that LOVE of God has become dispersed to simply mean kindness or restraint from murder.

What of warriors for Christ Jesus?  What of men and women born of the Holy Spirit into a holy life?  How can what is Holy give birth to anything less than Holy?  But the world and the corrupt message of certain men regarding the Gospel have allowed any sin to attach itself to the life of their people.  How will such things become acceptable to the Holy Lord of Life?  Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever!  It is man who has determined, in his “eternal” wisdom, that he can change that pure message from water to tar.

Grasp and return to that message which God has delivered to this day.  He has given His very blood to keep that Word through the ages.  And we would do well to read and learn of the kind of men and women who were used by God to found our faith.  Listening to the message today and reading the message of the starting, one would think we are serving an entirely different God.

Of Blessed Understanding We Join the Athletes of the Beginning.

The Lord has blessed my heart by bringing an audio file to me.  He is more gracious than we can possibly know.  If all His people were to combine their testimony regarding the Glory of the Lord Jesus (and that to the Glory of the Father) all the melody of sound would still fall short of His eternal beauty.  So I thank you Lord Jesus for Your precious blessings that filter to us through our time in this place of testing.  May all Your people present great glories to You on the day You are revealed in Glory to all men!  Amen!

The audio file is that of Eusebius’ Church History.  The work spans the time from the beginning of the Church to about the year 350 or so.  Up to the end of his account the Church had weathered a few problems within.  But the account tells us that the Lord’s people were blessed to pretty much remain constant in their worship, brotherhood, and display of righteousness.

I suspect that as I finish this “listening” I will search out another work which deals with the subsequent years.  I fear those works that will follow, however.  For it isn’t long in Church history when we find compromise between Church and State.  The results of which attack the Lord’s people from a particularly tender perspective.

How my soul wants to encourage my brothers and sisters to regain, retain, and revitalize our purity and love for the Lord.  But I am at a loss this evening.  Perhaps the Lord will bless us all by words fitting to the surge of dedication this work of Eusebius has inspired.

Shades of persecution have come and gone.  Yet today seems the most hideous of all.  Silent compromise seeps into the very foundations of our identity as “sons of God”.  For the most part the Church has become useless and loved by the world, especially in America.  Each man and woman goes after their own tasks unscathed by physical or financial malnutrition.

One thought runs through my blood tonite, however.  A rather foreboding thought presses against my skin from the inside out.  Is the Church today ready if the impiant (as they were prone to refer to wicked men) one regains his footing against us as he did in the first 1000 years of the Church?  This question is not for me to either answer or speculate about.  It is, perhaps, for us to prove individually as what will be enters the calendar year of its own time.

One possible answer to that question is this:  Prepare in prayer, Truth, righteousness, purity, holiness, bodily control, and consumption of the Word, lest that day (if it indeed comes upon us) encamp around us from the very fringes of the woods which create our present clearing of “peace”.

Watch with all hope.  Hope with eyes that are not of man.  And stretch out the wings of “The Faith” as far as they will stretch.  Get ready to fly by the strength of the Holy Spirit, regardless the necessity.  Only then can we walk toward what comes with the great peace displayed by the millions who have worked in the heat of the day.

By His Grace.
