Two Callings

Unholy wickedness runs through the streets day and night.  With an ungodly smile he spouts the words of fleshly pleasures.

Traipsing about with his darkened hoard, he entices the weak to the grave.  Oh, the vast number of those who follow him!

“Come and be proud!  United we will stand forever.  Bring all your desires to me and I will fulfill them.”

The appetite of hell is not satiated.  It has never heard of fasting.  And it does not care that its food has been basted by manure.   Drool runs down his beard for the souls of ungodly men.

Come and be consumed; all you people who love the call of the unholy one.  Come and feed the mouth of hell.  Past the last soul of Man, the belly of Hell will still have room.

He who is ungodly promises you freedom.  And as surely as you take it, it is taken from you.  His intent is true, you will surely be fuel for the flames.

Misery loves company.  Who is more miserable than the one from whom Glory has been stripped.  He will have great company in his horror on that Day.  So the Living God has promised, so his promise is busily coming true.

Let the wise hear these words.  Let fear strike their soul with understanding.  The Christ of God is compassion, but there is no compassion in the death of the wicked.

It is not the desire of God that any man should join this “one of misery”.  But billions are already there.  And there are billions more yet to join them.

The good news of God goes out, who hears it’s call?  He has raised up his Holy strength in the person of Jesus his Christ.

Unholy desire has murdered the Son of God.  But the grave could not contain him.  The Living God has raised his Christ to be first among all creation!  And by the Holy Oath of the Living God, the Christ will never cease to be first!  No one who comes to him will be turned away.

Salvation belongs to God and to his Holy Lamb.  Yet who will bend their knees with earnest heart?  Who will enter into pleading with a continuous desire for Life?

Listen to the call of Wisdom; that beautiful call of compassion which speaks the perfect Holy Word.

Who will choose to live and not die?  Let him fall to his knees in prayer.  Let him cover his ears in an inner room.  Let him not strive to listen to the unholy call of pleasure.  Let the ears of his soul listen intently for the beautiful sound of Holy Life.

Let he who desires to live, open his heart to the Living God’s call.

28 “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” (Matthew 11)

Let the thirsty come and drink.  Let the hungry come and be well fed.  Let those who are naked come and be clothed with eternal robes of white.  Let the sorrowful be filled with joy.  Let Holy Love conquer fear and hatred.  Let the wicked come and be made righteous.

Those who desire what are not the things of God, let their unholy belly be full.  Let them be fattened and healthy for the appetite of hell.

But the humble soul will escape.  He will understand and turned his face to the Living God’s Christ.  Those who belong to Christ will never die.  Though their flesh is stripped from their soul, they will enter his Holy Kingdom with great and unceasing joy.

May the will of the Living God be done forever.  He is faultless and true in all his Holy judgments and mercies.

God Provides the Way Out

We are not well-intentioned beings.  Even a lot of Christians believe that Man is simply misguided.  “If you explain his misbehavior to him, the wayward soul will rectify his life.”  That’s what the leaders of humanism will tell you.  That’s what the atheist would love to believe, if he had any proof.  Isn’t that the reason for the popular saying, “LIVE UNITED“?

The teaching that we are simply misguided by lack of knowledge, is simply and thoroughly untrue.  If it were true that man was simply a misguided and under educated being, there would have been many communes filled with really nice people  that still exist today.  But that’s not the case is it?

Even Christianity, that religion which is supposed to have the guidance of the Most High God’s Holy Son, is filled with turmoil and unholy behavior.  If man could be successful at establishing a beautiful populous, it would have happened within the first century after the birth of Christianity, and you would be able to find it today.

The problem is, God’s Word is true: even the best of our well-intentioned righteousness is no better than filthy rags.  We not only obey as if under duress for the threat of death or punishment, we invent wicked pleasures from our imagination.  And we do it all the time.

That is why the majority of the things I have written, by His grace, are pointed at the wickedness of Man.  God did not send his Holy Son to pat the righteous people on the back.  The Holy Father sent His only Son to mankind to deliver three messages.
1. Every man is already condemned to destruction before the Lord God Almighty.  All that’s left is to arrive on the Judgment Day to receive the condemnation.

2. The Holy Father has sent his Son as The Teacher of holiness.  He taught as many as would listen when he was here in bodily form.  And he teaches those who believe in Him through the Holy Spirit even today.

3. God caused his beautiful Son to become a Living Sacrifice for any who will claim his strength instead of their own.  For those who are willing to believe this message, God has loved us beyond words.  He has loved us to the very death of his only Holy Son.  And that at the very hands of those the Lord Jesus was sent to help.

If you can’t believe this message, your status before the Most High God does not change.  God the Father has offered up his only Son for your benefit, what more do you expect him to do?

Do you expect him to recieve you just like you are?  Well isn’t that the message I just wrote above?  Do you expect him to receive you because you are a righteous and good hearted person?  How does that stack up to what I just told you?

God has sent His Son to redeem the wicked depravity that is every single man’s filthy soul.  All you have to do is humble yourself and pray.  If you are willing to listen to him, he will transform your life from depravity to holiness.  Jesus is able and willing to offer eternal life to any who will trust him.

A man once said to me, “l don’t need Jesus.  I’ll take my chances at the judgment”.  The problem is, Sir, there is no such thing as “chances” on the Judgment Day.

This is the Judgement

Truth, faithfulness, the righteous expectations of God, prayer, holiness, glorification of God’s Holy Son, willing obedience to heavenly things, and a daily renewal of all these things.  This can be expected for those who willingly submit to the leadership of Christ Jesus.

But pleasure of this world’s desires, chasing after everything that is not God, short and useless prayers (such as God bless america), powerless religious observances, and oh so many other things, this is the nature of a man without Jesus.

19 “This is the judgment, that the Light has come into the world, and men loved the darkness rather than the Light, for their deeds were evil. 20 For everyone who does evil hates the Light, and does not come to the Light for fear that his deeds will be exposed. 21 But he who practices the truth comes to the Light, so that his deeds may be manifested as having been wrought in God.”  (The Gospel of John chapter 3)

How incredibly sad that this should be our epitaph; that at the moment of our death, our pursuit of anything but God is all we bring to the Holy Throne of the Sovereign God.  All the while he offers freely so very much to any who will purposefully place him in his proper position.

By his own nature man is lazy.  Oh he’ll provide for all the things he wants.  But is he willing to let God cause him to provide all the things that God wants?

Those who diligently seek the truth of God in Christ Jesus will be granted God’s desires.  There is no need to qualify that statement.  But those who only desire the things of this world, such people will not find the things that God is willing to offer so freely.

Thankful Children

10,000,000 people are told the Gospel, only a thousand believe and receive eternal life.  Perhaps thousands more understood it.  But only a handful have believed with all their heart.

The message of God goes out freely and like a flood.  Many souls are washed by the message, but so few love their new cleanliness.  In the Gospel we read that there were ten who were cleansed of leprosy.  But only one returned to give thanks.

It is so simple a child can do it, and frankly folks, that’s exactly what it takes.  The mind of an adult only wants more; he has been spoiled by pride and greed.  But the heart of a child is elated at the smallest token of love.

Let me ask the Christians, “Where is the proof of your thanks?”  I am not insinuating that you are thankless.  I’m simply asking where the proof of your thankfulness lays.

Perception, that’s what it is.  That’s what steals the bold testimony of Christians to the world.  “God promises me eternal life, but if I tell this to others they will hate me.”   Is the promise of God so ineffective?  Is the promise of eternal life really such a trivial matter?

With all the strength my mind can muster, I cannot understand why Christians are ashamed to share the Gospel.  I surmise that the answer must be found in the perception of God’s promise.  “Thank you Lord for giving me eternal life.  Please excuse me now while I go join the world in its celebration of futility.”

I sat here this morning for nearly an hour, frustrated that I could not reach more people with the message of God.  That’s all that consumes me!  It’s no pat on my back, the blessing of God is that great!

And I am only speaking of the reality of eternal life.  I have not yet begun to speak of the beautiful things he has rescued me from.  And I’ve made no mention at all so far, about the billions who never heard the testimony from a Christian.

Nine of the lepers simply disappeared into society.  But one came back with a full expression of shameless thankfulness.  Did the nine ever speak again of their former shame, and how God had released them?  Who knows, there is no written record of their testimony.  But I think the story might have ended differently, if all ten had returned with shameless thanks.

But of the one who returned, we can surmise, he could not shut his mouth.  Where is the Christian who cannot conceal the Gospel of Christ?  Where is the one who is not ashamed of the love that God has given him?  It’s easy enough to find 10000 who have decided to keep it to themselves.  All the while, the world spirals out of control.

The Darkness of Perversity

25 “To the holy, you show your gracious love,
to the upright, you show yourself upright;
26 to the pure, you show yourself pure,
and to the morally corrupt, you appear to be perverse.” ( Psalm 18, ISV)

The mind and imagination of Man is kept to the limits of the place he lives.  If all he sees is death and corruption, that is all he is capable of perceiving.  Men may call another man holy, but they give that title to the one who achieves the best of Man’s imagination.

True holiness and purity must come from God.  Man is not capable of achieving that level of cleanliness on his own.  And to add to Man’s difficulty, pride stands at the door.  Because of pride, no man is able to receive this testimony from another man.  It is required that God bless the receiver with understanding.

Do not be amazed when so many reject the Gospel.  They cannot receive it unless they humble themselves before the Living God’s Christ.  If the hearer retains his pride, the Gospel will sound perverse.  But if the man has a willing heart, God will confirm the noise to be true.

Keep The Faith and be faithful; let God be who he is.  The only thing God requires of us is that we are not ashamed or fearful to bring the Message to our fellow brothers of flesh.

I met a man who could not overcome sexual immorality.  I told him that victory over such a sin will not come to him except that God gives it.

A year or two later he complained that he was still embroiled in immorality.  He said he had asked God to take it away, but it was still an active part of his life.

I tried to reason with him, that salvation is a mutual work.  God may well grant freedom.  The question is: does the man have the will to retain it?  In the end, the man admitted that Christ Jesus must be a liar.

Consider the verses above.  God’s Holy Word is true.  It is we who are liars.

Luke Warm

“Let us feel like we are saved.  Let us revel in some future joy.  Leave us alone, this world is too harsh and we want to live in sweet dreams.

We do not want to fast, for food is pleasurable.  We do not want to ache because of the Holiness of God.  We do not want to think ill of our brothers in flesh.  We do not want to speak down regarding the things this world loves so much.

You do not realize the difficulty we face if we turn to God completely.  They will come and take away our place.  They will push us to a corner of obscurity.  They will hate us even as we can see they hate you.  They may even kill us and our children!  Why do you continue to badger us?”

Have it your way.  But consider, Christ did not measure his love for His Holy Father when he died for you on the cross.
