Oh Please! Don’t Offend Me!

I am so very tired of the word games played today.  It is ok to attack Christianity.  It’s ok to remove God from all society.  But let the Christian laugh at their foolish notions, and he becomes an intolerant fool.

Isaiah, John the Baptist, Elisha, and Enoch, would not have fared well in today’s politically correct world.  They loved the truth of God too much to remain silent.  They would have been torn to pieces in the street.

Ah, how dearly I look for a war!  I want to face my accusers and speak what is true directly to their own ears.  But, God has not put me in that position yet.  So I sharpen my sword and wait.  Biding my time to see if the Lord will send me into battle; the battle between lies and truth.  Here, I send letters of announcement.  They all announce that I side with Jesus.  They announce that the world is full, to over flowing, with lies.  Yet, I wait.

The Tested Stone

I have come to refer to the world as a “place of testing”.  Once a woman said to me that she didn’t agree with that.  I forget what she offered up as an alternative.  But what matters is that God also sees this as a “place of testing”.  How do I know that?  Isaiah 28:16 refers to Jesus as a “tested stone”.  Where was this Mighty Lord tested?  Why, in this “place of testing”, of course.

The Cleansing Fire of Testing

Isaiah, as directed by the Spirit of God, said, “See, the Lord has one who is powerful and strong.” (Isa. 28: 2)

In the all the days before Christ’s appearance in flesh the Lord God, God Most High, knew the One who would enter our world to rescue His people.  Since before the foundation of the universe Jesus was known as God’s Right Hand.  All creation was groaning under the oppression of man’s wickedness.  All heaven had put up with the wickedness of a few.  And God knew the end of the story, just as He knows it now.

Take heart, you who moan with the burden of this world’s testings.  We are not removed from His plans.  We are a fruit of Grace.  And what He has promised and known from the beginning He will fulfill!  He is not slow as men count slowness.  He is deliberate and knowing in His ways.  Be patient, therefore, the way is provided.  The path is cleared.  Light marks “The Way” for all who would travel it.  We are being called through a cleansing fire of testing.  Hold your head up and walk like men, like men of God.

Believe the Testimony and Live!

I testify to all that God is True.   I testify to all that Jesus is Able to bring you home.  I testify to all that the foolish, desperate, wicked of heart, mentally deficient, physically lacking, and socially repressed and outcast, can be saved from their ailments.  I testify to this because I know there is one who testifies that such is not true.  And there are far more who believe in that one, than of those who rest in God’s promises.

Do not discount what I have just said.  It is absolutely true and correct.  But you may ask, “Then why am I not healed from those things I hate so much?”  Do you really want my answer to you?   “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and you will be saved.  For all who call on the name of the Lord will be saved.”

1 “Here is my servant, whom I uphold,
my chosen one in whom I delight;
I will put my Spirit on him,
and he will bring justice to the nations.
2 He will not shout or cry out,
or raise his voice in the streets.
3 A bruised reed he will not break,
and a smoldering wick he will not snuff out.
In faithfulness he will bring forth justice;
4 he will not falter or be discouraged
till he establishes justice on earth.
In his teaching the islands will put their hope.”

Encounter with Holiness

Fire! Fire!

I looked and God focused my eyes.

What did I see, but a blazing inferno of Holiness.

I cried against the blast of heat,

“Where are You Lord?”  My voice consumed by the roar.

Listening ear turned toward the flames, while fear and confusion rage.

Then I heard.

A word spoken, and not to my ear.

The mind understood, and the heart comprehended.

Yet no sound moved that ear drum.

“Here I am.  Come into the flames.”

“I will die!  For those flames have no passage way.”

I replied what I perceived to the spoken unspoken words.

“That is exactly the point.”  Came the “understanding” again.

Desire for Him caused my feet to move forward.

And the horrible heat burned my soul.

Anguish and pain roared against my domain.

Yet, desire provoked me to walk.

I stood in the flame and beheld as I could.

And, with marvel, my sins dropped away.

Fullness of mind came to be mine, and I heard that unspoken word once again.

“You are clean now by My power and mercy.

Go back to your humble abode.”

“Oh Lord!” I cried out with a bellowing voice.

“Why can’t I stay here and learn?”

“I will teach you from here, to the place you live there.

And My ways you will learn in their full.

If you would desire to know what My will is for you,

you will find it among the people.”

By His Grace.

The World Entices. But God Directs.

Peachtree lending says, “Life doesn’t wait.  Why should you”?

The Bible says,

31Yet those who wait for the LORD
Will gain new strength;
They will mount up with wings like eagles,
They will run and not get tired,
They will walk and not become weary. (Isaiah 40)

So, Thanks Peachy dude.  I think I’ll just wait for the Lord’s direction and not use my greed to make decisions.  And I’ll  send that same decision to all other logos and pleads for my personal actions.

By His Grace.
