Here, you dress me.

Here, I submit.

Here, I learn of my sins.

But

Here, I learn of Your mercy.

It was here that I found precious things;

The things that belong to You.

It was here that Your beauty shown in the darkness;

I came to understand lovely things.

Here, I find Grace.

Here, I find Mercy.

Here, my mind is become filled with the Hope that belongs to You.

And leaving Here, that hope becomes mine.

Thanks will roll from my lips forever

Because You were Here.

Thank You Lord, because You are Here.

By His Grace.  Amen.

Great news!!!

Hey there studly guy!  Howdy gorgeous woman!  Have you heard the news lately?  Scientists are saying with a slight tweak to the genetic material they can cause us to live for 500 years!  Whooo hoooo!!!!!!

You might think that’s good news, but its not.  Even if they invent that tweak  tomorrow morning and you happen to have enough money to purchase a dose of whatever they make, you’re still gonna die.

Yep.  You’re going to get old and wrinkly.   Your bones are going to give out on yah.  Your eyes won’t work too well.  And you’re going to turn up your TV really loud.

Then the day will come. The Sun will shine.  The birds are going to chuirp.  People will laugh, cry, eat, and dance.  But you won’t be here.  Nope you just won’t be here.

I’m not going to bother to tell you where you will find yourself on that day.  You wouldn’t listen to me if I told you.  And you wouldn’t change your life if you let me talk to you.

I just wrote this little piece for you,  in case the Lord happens to be merciful and cause you to drop by here.

There’s no need to tell you to have a good day.  That’s the entire focus of your life isn’t  it.

By the way, my hope’s name is Jesus.

Commanded? Not really

I will confess that, at first, it’s really difficult to summon the strength to speak publicly about Jesus.  But I will also confess that once you start it is impossible to stop.

He is so full of what is good, and the world around us is so full of what is evil.  To love him is to tell others.   It is not so much that we are commanded to go to all the world, but we find ourselves compelled to go to all the world.

“do-gooder-ism”

It’s so curious that the most wicked age is the age consumed with so much “do-gooder-ism”.   I guess self righteousness needs to take its place among the folly parade of man.  It’s not wise, however, to consider He who watches as if He were a child.  “Throw Him a bit of candy and He will leave us alone.”  Not wise at all folks.  This isn’t that kind of parade.

Instead, lay down your version of righteous behavior and spend quality time worshiping Him.  He will show you what He considers righteous for you.  He alone is Good.  By the way, His name is Jesus.

“In Him we live and move and have our being”.

“Now we see as through a glass darkly”.

I speak but I am limit.  I understand but only through destruction.  I use words but they are limited by my vocabulary.  And if I happen to say the right things would I perceive it? Could you hear it?

Before “this” was, there was more.  When this place is gone, eternity will lack nothing for its demise.  What was before is living and cannot die. What will be is the same as what was.

” Jesus Christ is the same yesterday today and forever”.  “Those who put their hope in Him will never be ashamed”.

We who place our hope in him were not, now we are and we will never die.  Perhaps you think this is too much to say.  God does not lie and God has promised this.

By His Grace.

Strive to Remember: A Moment Continuum.

I have a scar on my wrist.  It’s small now.  But I remember how it came to be.  What I don’t remember about it was the measure of surprise and pain at its arrival.

I had hired on to catch chickens one night.   They warned me about the claw on the rooster’s leg.  And I understood what they meant.  But what they couldn’t help me understand was how fast and empty of pity he would be.

It was quick and bloody.  But time passed anyway.  This scar remains to remind.  And, after 40+ years, I remember.

Sins have left their marks also.  Most of them don’t make themselves available to the senses.  But they have a way of reminding.

Lots of failures came and went.  Lots of victories have come and gone.  But there is a singular “moment continuum” which we should strive to remember.  That day when Jesus appeared.

Like the man of the tombs, I have been rescued from unseen forces.  I listened to evil and followed hard after it.  In fact I had become quite evil.  Even among evil men I held my own.

But Jesus passed by one day.  Chains were broken.  Clothing was issued.  Words of peace and righteousness were exchanged.  And those who knew me saw a new man appear.

I tried to go with Him.  But I couldn’t keep pace as a result of the scars.  So I strive to remember that “moment continuum” .

He was near and caused a holy change.
He is near and fans the flames.
And He has promised to take me into His kingdom.
So I do what comes as natural as once did sin;
“I strive to remember that ‘moment continuum'”.
