The Good Die Young

Some say there is no God.  Others doubt that God cares.  Some think there is a God and that he cares, but they are left to fend for themselves in this place until they reach heaven.
Then can you explain why there is any good in this world at all?  What is it about the world that gives you the impression that good can triumph here?  A bad man succeeds, while a good man is shot down in the street.  And isn’t there a saying among us that the good die young?
The proof that there is a God remains in his faithfulness to deliver survival to a people who despised him so vehemently, and glorify violence and death.
You think you’re in control of your life?  Think about this:
A man in India, one single man, will do a single task today.  What others have done before him, throughout the world, will dictate what he does today.  Another man in Saudi Arabia will do something today.  He’s single action will reach you or your children sooner or later.  Are you really in control of your life?
People will do what they do.  They will say, or not say, what they want.  A handful will give glory to the Majesty of God among us.  But most will live their entire life giving no glory to God at all.  They may respect him and fear him but they refuse to speak of His Holy name in public.
Yes God cares, in spite of the fact that we don’t.  God is beautiful in Jesus the Christ.  Man is a mucus mold on eternity.  Still God holds out his hand to us.
18 “Come now, let us settle the matter,”

says the Lord.

“Though your sins are like scarlet,

they shall be as white as snow;

though they are red as crimson,

they shall be like wool.

19 If you are willing and obedient,

you will eat the good things of the land;

20 but if you resist and rebel,

you will be devoured by the sword.”  (Isaiah chapter 1)

The Single Arrow

A man has only one faith.  It is not possible that he should have many.  For as his faith is pointed, so the man becomes.

Give an archer a single arrow.  Place the target 100 yards away.  Now tell him that if he does not hit the bull’s eye, you will kill him.

With the target the size of a 25 cent coin, the variable wind and heat, the skill of the archer, and the executioner standing near, the odds are slim the man will see the next sunrise.

Our faith can be likened to the arrow.  In this, every man is an archer.

The man draws his arrow of faith and sets it in the string of action.  He pulls back hard on his bow of hope.  After taking careful aim he lets it fly.  Will it hit the mark?

It depends on what he was shooting for.  The target makes all the difference.  Even the very best of marksman will fail if they do not know where the bullseye is.

How difficult is it to hit the mark for eternal life?  Let everyone understand we are not shooting for a target 100 yards away.  For faith is the substance of things unseen.

Straighten your arrow and point it toward the stars.  Wait until your place on earth points specifically at the Holy Throne of God.  Then at the right moment, and with all your possible strength, release your faith.

What’s the chances it will find the mark?  Will the Holy One watch it skitter across the throne room floor and land at his footstool?

Do we need Jesus?  Go ahead and say no.  If your faith is to find the mark of eternity it must arrive at the footstool of God.

But first it must travel the length of the sky.  It must pass through the orbit of the moon.  Let your imagination see it whistle through the vacuum of space, to the edge of the universe.  After that it must travel through the very fabric of heaven itself.  Where in heaven, is the Holy throne of the Most High God?

Whats the chances any man can hit that mark?  God has not given men wisdom to write that number.

Does every man need Christ Jesus?  You bet your life we do!

For as the Apostle Peter said, “Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved.”  (Acts 4)

Reading the Bible Cannot Save You

Living a life provided by us, can only lead to an eternity provided by us. “Unless the Lord builds the house the builder builds in vain.”

__________________________

“Salvation belongs to our God and to the lamb!”  This will be the song sung by those who arrive in heaven, dressed for eternity.  It will not be sung by those who think they can save themselves.  No work of man can produce the attire necessary to stand before the Living God.  Simple logic brings us to this conclusion.

As an aside: I met a man who told me he had no time for Jesus.  He said he would take his chances in the Judgment Day.  I will give the man this, at least he was being honest with his folly.

The power of God alone can turn a man from fool to wise.  Those who live in truth before the Holy Lord, will cannot lie.  It is impossible to stand before Him and do anything other than tell the truth.  The perfection of God demands it.  How then can the man who trusts in his own strength sing that song?

I do not write this article to make fun of people.  I write this article that everyone may understand.  From the simple to the great, salvation is extended freely.  Yet only those who humble themselves before the Living God, will find it.

39  “You study the Scriptures diligently because you think that in them you have eternal life.  These are the very Scriptures that testify about me, 40 yet you refuse to come to me to have life.” (John 5)

No righteousness belongs to man.  If a man is able to memorize the entire Bible, it does not save him.  God does not take pride in such a child.  God in his excellent wisdom has reserved His Holy Son alone, that men may be saved.  The song does not say, “Salvation belongs to those who have saved themselves”.

When the Lord Jesus was with his disciples on the mountain, and was transformed before their very eyes, the Holy Father spoke.  Of all the myriad of things the Holy Father could have said, what did he say?  “. . .This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased. Listen to him!”  (Matthew 17:5)

God did not say,  “Read the Bible and do what it says”.  The Bible is a written and concrete evidence of the covenant of God toward man.  But the Living God, and His strength to save is, found exclusively in his Living, Righteous and Holy Son.

Pride comes when man thinks he owns anything by his own strength.  But salvation comes when all the man has belongs to God.

If anything is not of God it will not endure the Judgment Day.  Eternity is Holy.  Nothing will ever be in it but that which is God.

There will be no pride in heaven.  There should be no pride among us here.  If a man thinks he is something, he deceives himself and does not understand the truth.

Reading the Bible, alone, cannot save you.  It is necessary that every man should humble himself before the Living God, and receive the power of his Holy Son’s sacrifice and eternal Kingship.

Find a man who knows the Bible through and through, yet does not commune with the Living God in Christ Jesus, and you will find a man who is full (to overflowing) with pride and false humility.  But living in vibrant fellowship with the Living God’s Holy Son, produces humility, by crushing the pride in which a man trusts.

If still you need proof, read the Holy Law that God gave to his people through Moses.  Now for 24 hours, do that law.  You will find yourself falling short within an half hour.

Those who think they can save themselves by memorizing and understanding the Bible, are like those who live by the law.  Not one man can obey it completely.  And every man who tries will die.  Remember what the Apostle Paul said.  “Those who depend on obeying the Law live under a curse. For the scripture says, ‘Whoever does not always obey everything that is written in the book of the Law is under God’s curse!’” (Galatians 3: 10)

May the Living God grant understanding.

Similarity of Directions

A sign near Chillicothe Ohio reads, “For outdoor drama stay right“.  Evidently there’s an outdoor theater somewhere near.

When I saw the sign, I had to laugh out loud.  I wonder if the signmaker realized what he was making, and just how true those words are.

For in Christianity, everything is outside.  It was begun, remains, and will finish, outside the city of man’s intent.  All Christians are called to live outside the social norms of the world.  And the laws the Lord Jesus teaches us are completely outside the attainment of man; they are Holy, Holy, Holy.  Without him we can do nothing.

And if you want drama, become a Christian.  You will be talked about behind your back, without cause or reason.  You will have difficulty with your relatives and “friends”, for they know the person you used to be.  You will be called, in one way or another, an enemy of the state.  And the war that will rage in your soul is intense.

Christianity is completely dependent on he who is perfectly Right.  Staying wrapped up in his righteousness is essential.  And living rightly is our spiritual worship; our rightful way of saying thank you, for the Living Promise of eternal life.

Since I mentioned the theatre here, it’s only fair to give them a plug.  I don’t have any idea about the quality of their plays.  But I sure got a kick out of their sign.  Thanks folks!

Demise of The Faith

The Spirit of God moves among men with great strength and determination; holy and pure.  One he raises up, another he lowers to the depths.  The will of God has been and will be forever.

One man lets evil consume him.  While another is driven to what is good.  Evil rests upon the mass of men, still the man who desires what is good presses on.  The grace of God has gripped him.  He will do and become.  Holy desire is granted to him.

Be encouraged.  Be greatly encouraged that you may stand fast in the holy places granted you to stand.

It is like a man to do so, but it is not good that a man shall say to himself, “I will serve the Lord with great willingness as prosperity comes upon me”.  God Himself endures the wickedness of this place in his creation.  Yet with excellent patience and wisdom he waits.  How is wickedness in his creation prosperity?

With the mind of Christ within us, we perceive.  We endure as we are willing to receive.  Let poverty or even abuse assail us, the willing embrace what is.

Shall we leave the great endurance to our Lord, and the holy men of before?  Shall we escape unscathed?  Isn’t it proper that we should take our place among the hated of this world.

Let the natural things come against us.  Let the Evil One and his minions attack for purpose of destruction.  We are called to stand firm.

Let us not say, by our doings, that God is unjust.  Let us not testify that he asks too much and provides too little for us to overcome.

Strength to my brothers and sisters: let your soul look up.  We are not victims or pawns in a great horrible war.  We are called to be holy and kings in the beautiful kingdom of our God.

Donning the patience of the Holy One we will stand.  Those who do not stand well will find their desire corrupt, should they even find desire to look.

Look to what is.  Understand the holy desire of God for all his people.  Count the things you have; those things of uncorruptible nature.  Embrace them as treasure and polish them to shining.

Let today become the beginning of becoming.  As our Superior Lord has done, let us set our face as flint toward overcoming.  As we look back we lose.  But as we purposefully strive forward, God is pleased and his bounty grows.  To he who has, more will be given.  And he will have in abundance.

I cannot help myself.  It is within me and I will speak it:

How desire rages within me to see God’s people full of fruit and maturity.  How I desire to find many wise men.  But they are few and difficult to locate.

When there is to be decisive division between the world and the people of God, I find a glass mixed with dung and pure water.  If a man would not drink such a thing, how is it we expect the Holy One to ingest our service?

No one has but that he has received.  Let us not think that God is not willing to give.  Those who lack, lack because of their unwillingness to ask.  They have loved this world more than the Holy One.  And their ways are known even now!

By this letter I am not asking too much.  God is willing to give!  Should we think his desire is less than holy and perfect?   Is it as many testify, “Salvation is but an evil trick among men”.  If the answer is no, how then should we remain as the Church is found today?

Where is The Faith?  Where is the power of God to save?  Where is the blazing testimony that is willing to die?  Sadly it has been siphoned off by the will of man in his evil intent.

The form of religion has overtaken this people.  They have spurned The Faith and continued on in diluted fashion.  Their way is known.  And their appearance before the Holy throne of God is expected and demanded!

The work of man’s hands has attracted the attention of God’s people; all the glistening to the eye, all the enticement of the ear, and the aroma of all sins that lead away to death.  They have forsaken him for the pleasures of the day.

Is this truly the end of The Faith?  If so, we are very near the end of the day of grace.

Let your heart understand.  Let fear race through your blood.  Cause understanding to consume you!  The time of death is at hand.

If those first ones had said, “The day has appeared and the night is quickly vanishing.   Therefore let us walk as sober minded men.  Let us live as if in the daylight”.  How much more is that today?

May the will of the Holy One be done forever!  Those who desire to live, will live in righteous patience now.  Those who desire to serve, will serve with great faithfulness and endurance.  Let all else falter and fail.

Even so, Lord Jesus come quickly.

The Wayward Daughter

O world!  You are void of righteousness.  You desire what you should not.  And you take, with abandon, those things which do not belong to you.

Impatience and greed are your gods.  You serve them with excellent zeal, for they agree with the endless gluttony of your desire.

You consider the Holy One as of no account.  ‘I will do as I please, for I do not see his judgment against me.”  So you say with what you do.

You are blind, and willingly so.  You fill the righteous with sadness as they perceive your willfull plight.  You live as if it brings you delight to see them cry for your sake.

You are like the daughter who has despises her righteous mother.  You are like the daughter who willingly murders her father’s joy.

You are like the daughter of righteous parents, who gives her body to the will of men.  She comes home and laughs in her parent’s face, while they mourn the marks of abuse that lay up on her.  She comes home to despise the love of her parents; to make a mockery of their sorrow.

What will you say on that day you are called to give account?  Will you find your best friend, ignorance, able to assist you against an onslaught of truth?  You are not willing to hear truth now.  How would you stand on that day?

See how the warning is stark and unwavering.  See how the judgment reaches even where you lay.

God is not cruel; not as you call righteousness.  He has provided a way of escape for every man who heeds these things.  He has provided the sacrifice of his Holy Son, Christ Jesus.  And willingly poured out His Holy Spirit on those with contrite heart.

Do not continue in your way to remain in death.  For as you have come to live, so you will surely die.
