Food!!!!!!!!

We are the sum of what we have done and what we are currently doing.

The people loved the Lord Jesus when he gave them food to eat. But they crucified him for giving them his Father’s food to eat.

All focus on the body, isn’t it? Is it really any different today?

They adore a politician if he gives them everything they want. They despise another because he requires them to work.

“I can’t work”, they say.

They adore the Lord Jesus because he offers them forgiveness for their sins. They despise him when he says, “Become like me”.

Show me what there is to love about humanity.

Zachariah chapter 7

If you ask The Lord a question, regardless how seemingly legitimate, are you able to understand the answer? If you understand the answer are you willing or able to give it room in your heart?

Does our will lean toward the will of the Living God in Jesus, or have we created our own religion full of self-sacrifice?

Are we then dis-heartened by God’s refusal to answer? Are we surprised that our religion of self-sacrifice is not acceptable before the Living God?

Consider the value of the sacrifice of Christ against anything you can do. Bottom line, who’s sacrifice is saving you?   Consider how far you intend to go.  Consider what your eternity looks like.  Consider what your version of paradise must be.

Here is a more poignant question: “Who then is your God”?

Frustrating Epitome

The words of Christ are so beautiful, perfect and pristine, they rise immeasurably above the things of Man.

How frustrating to see the beauty and not be able to paint the picture with my life.

Add to that frustration the compelling urge to share His words in the world that talks about everything but what belongs to God.

Encourage one another to Leap, while no one can do much more than crawl. Encourage one another to fly, while no one can do much more than look up.

It takes the Spirit of God to do the things of Christ. It takes the Spirit of God to speak of the things of God. As often as we look at his beautiful face, our lips will betray the frightful (yet willful) silence of Man.

Frustration will abound, that’s inevitable. Which gives me reason to remember and be in awe at the patience of the Living God.

“What’s in Your House?”

Even while the people stood amazed at the freedom given to the man of the tombs, the legion of demons found new homes. While the bodies of pigs floated out to sea, the people received as open doors with welcome mats.

The demons begged that they should not have to leave the region. I guarantee you they didn’t leave. They begged to enter the pigs. I guarantee you they didn’t drown with the pigs.

No, they were alive and well. They went to work on the people of that region immediately. Read the response of the people; and they begged the Lord to leave their area.

People are being healed by the Lord these days. Where do their demons go? They go to anyone who is willing to embrace their filthy ways.

“What’s in your house?”

(Mark 5)

Reality

Side with one political group, you’ll be happy for a little while.

Gather certain friends around you, they’ll give you comfort for a little while.

Bank on staying young all your life, you’ll be delusional for a few years.

Things change.  Disappointments come.  The next guy gets his chance to be happy for a little while.

Happiness in this world is like a crazy Bluejay.  He flies from one branch to another, blessing the place he stays for a little while.  But then he gets hungry for something “other”.  The branch where he was, springs back to its original position; empty and waiting for another bird.

But in Jesus, you’ll find the potential to be at peace forever.  The winds of change can’t destroy his faithfulness.   And those who place their full trust in him are never put to shame or brought to ruin.

It all depends on what you want, doesn’t it.  You want all the temporary chaos?  Graced by occasional happiness, like icing on a muffin.    Or are you looking for something endlessly permanent.

Don’t just, “try Jesus”.  Put all your trust in him and you’ll see that what I’m saying is true.

You always have the option to fail and be miserable; you can always go back to living a useless life.    You will not always have the option to take the beautiful life he offers so freely.

Think about it.

Make Room.

(No room at the Inn?)

The world is not at odds with each other because there is an absolute truth.  No, they destroy each other because they love lies.

Truth is not offended at the attacks from lies.  Truth stands immeasurably strong and endlessly tall regardless what lies Man embraces.  No amount of murder, back biting, hate, chaos, or screaming will change Truth.

Empty your houses of lies and Truth will have room to enter.  Before that, you don’t stand a chance of being truly peace filled.

His Holy Name is Jesus.  Ask and expect Holy help.
