The Living Promise

The place where free will can be tested. A place where God’s commands can be broken. A place where free will can choose to love the One who made it, or despise Him forever.

A place where it is possible for violence to be king. A place where it is possible for compassion to suffer seemingly endless sorrow. A place where there is no such thing as innocence, until God Himself comes to inhabit a body.

That’s where we live, my Friends. Perhaps better said, that’s where we wait to die; when we will move into the next place of His creation.

With deft and Holy intent, He made this place. He has set unimaginable rewards in a place we have yet to see. He has entered into chaos to give life to dead bones. And billions have already been sealed for eternal life and joy.

Trust in Jesus cannot be useless. See how He delivered His promise. He did not come to deliver sorrow. He came into sorrow to deliver hope.

Mistrust of everything in this world is appropriate. Not so with the promise of God. We restrain our joy at the things this world offers. But isn’t that because this world can not deliver what we need. Empty promises and broken hearts is all the world has in its hand.

He promised you. It is impossible for Him to lie. When it comes to our Lord, we have every right to be full of joy and hope. If you have received the promise of God, you are engaged to be married to the King of all creation.

He will never abandon you. He will never leave you hungry. You will not be dressed in rags, nor struggle to survive, alone. You will from eat all the beautiful things he desires to create. You will be full of joy, and that eternally.

Measure the kind of hope He has delivered to our hearts. Measure, and be at peace.

Alpha and Omega

I wake and consider what heaven is; what eternity is made of.

I know you, like me , have heard all the stories 100,000 times. Still we can’t understand the Majesty of Jesus.

The nature of his Majesty is faithfulness and righteousness. He has always done the will of his Holy Father, and he always will.

No one else has ever been that faithful. No one ever will. No one can. No one else has been with God from the beginning. No one else has been tested as he, yet found blameless and pure. He is first and best in absolutely everything. That’s why he is perfectly trustworthy.

We can’t perceive his glory. It’s simply not possible. And even though we know the nature of the wilderness in which he was tested, we can’t possibly understand his strength of love for God to endure with absolute purity.

These thoughts are just a beginning to the things of The Faith. But from this place, the glory of God among us explodes into every possible good thought and deed.

As foreign as it is among men, it is appropriate to speak words of glory for Jesus. Even while we debate what people would think of us if we spoke like that, all of creation in heaven has been doing it since the beginning. And without the slightest embarrassment or hesitation.

I know I’ve said these things before. I know I’ll say them again. And I know a time is coming when I won’t stop.

These are not just words. They are a door to joy. They are a window to eternal glory. They are a hand extended from heaven to lift us up from this place of death and trouble.   They are the pure strength we’re looking for.

Sight

For every shadow cast there is a light.  The very best of Man’s things are nothing but a shadow of the Living God’s beautiful Son.

It’s easy to see the shadows.  Have you looked intently and long into the light that makes them?

The shadows will be dispelled.  Soon they will not exist.  What will become of people have never sought the light?

Nothing familiar.  Abject blindness in a place a perfect sight.

And what of those who reject the entrancing nature of shadows?   What of those whose eyes are accustomed to the place where they are going?

Perfect sight.  Perfect joy.  Perfect peace.  Accustomed , as they are, to search for what is true.

Does this apply to  you?

The Tower of Babel

They gathered together and said, “Come let us build a city that reaches to the heavens so that we can make a name for ourselves”.  But it was not time in the history of man under God to do such a thing.

We are living in the time when God has released man to do as he pleases.  The language of man is not being confused, it is unifying.

People call all their inventions “good”.  But look, where is God in all of this?  If God alone is good, and he has been stripped of his glory among men, how can this be good?

When the people chase after the things they want and love, once they strip themselves of the bounds of God’s rule, they never go back.  But God’s rule doesn’t change.  His demands and commands are life.  If the people try to avoid him, they curse themselves with death.  It can’t be any different.  And everyone, deep down inside, knows this is true.  “If you love me you will keep my commands.”  The inverse is true: “If you hate me you will despise my commands.”

With all that we have invented, we have become nothing.  Blindly, they think they are creating a paradise.  There is no celebration in the grave.

The Eternal Voice

You are a soul encapsulated in a body.  Here you are helpless.  Everything and everyone is an enemy and a threat.  Your deadly enemy walks in front of your house.  By the look on his face  you know he desires your end.

But there is no reason to be afraid.

Remember what God Said.  He didn’t say it with words.  He said it with the sound of blood as it trickled down a wooden beam.  He said it with the sound of skin being pierced by Iron nails.  He said it with the sound of sweat breaking through to the surface of the skin.

“I love you.  I will help you.  I will bring you to be where I am.  I cannot lie.  I am more powerful than death itself.  I will provide for you.  I will sustain you, no matter what.  And all I want from you is trust.  Believe these things.”

Dooless?

All the world wants to avoid sorrow.  They smack down poverty of every kind, as often as they possibly can; material things, financially, social, and poverty of the soul.  Yeah, they go after poverty with a vengeance.
But in my life I’ve noticed something interesting.  When I had things, and life seemed to go well, I tried to rest there.  “This is good enough”, I thought to myself.  I figured I could easily live this way all the rest of my life.  But sorrow came back.  The joy of peaceful stability was ruined.
Sorrow is a friend, it is not an enemy.  It does not come to destroy, it comes to teach.  Look how Innovative we become after a serious bout of sorrow.
Humanity is like a poor student in school.  No matter what needs to be learned there’s always resistance.  Humility and wisdom is the key.  They both force us to realize we don’t understand hardly anything.
Has your life been a series of sorrowful exploits?  Did you find that you just gave up?  I did.  I became innovative with the mud of my own mire.  I didn’t think it would ever stop.
I have to say it was Jesus who transformed me.  His interaction with me through the last decade  would take volumes to write.  But I can summarize how he did it.
He taught me how to make the bed in the morning.  He taught me how to do the dishes when I was done eating.  He taught me that when I see something needing picked up or done, do it.  He lifted me out of my mud pit by teaching me to be dutiful not dooless.
I still face sorrow.  It comes to visit nearly every day.  But I no longer look at it as an enemy.  It is filled with the lessons my teacher desires me to learn.  Prosperity is only an honest prayer away.
