“At All Costs! Avoid God”

The wicked creatures crawl around in the darkness. They are not searching for release from their agony. There is none to attain. Resigned to what they do, they have no regard for what is Good.

The objects in their path are familiar enough to avoid. They move from one to another like monkeys playing in a cage. Caged in a place that has been theirs for thousands of years.

They seek only one thing, implant their perverted pleasure into the minds of Man. The essence of their work is simple, “Teach the Man to avoid God”.

Are they adept at what they do? Take a good look around.

Dreamers

They gave themselves to the reading of the word and to prayer. The result?

Thousands were saved in Christ. The power of God moved among the people with unprecedented strength. A Legacy was built for billions.

We have one life to live. What will be said of us when we are ushered into his holy kingdom?

“One good deed is more worth than a thousand brilliant theories. Let us not wait for large opportunities, or for a different kind of work, but do just the things we ‘find to do’ day by day. We have no other time in which to live. The past is gone; the future has not arrived; we never shall have any time but time present. Then do not wait until your experience has ripened into maturity before you attempt to serve God. Endeavour now to bring forth fruit.” (Charles Spurgeon)

Dare not just dream. Become. The thief does not steal your life. He steals your seconds.

Confused?

Many religions? Yes. Many cultures, customs, languages, and rituals? Yes. But to love the people more than Christ will never please God. He has set His rule by the blood of His Holy, Righteous and Glorious Son. He is established forever in Heaven. His people establish His Majesty here as well.

What is honored by the world must find a certain distain in the souls bought by the Holy Blood of Christ.

“I myself am the LORD, and there is no other Savior. I am the one who spoke to you, saved you, and told you those things.”

— Isaiah 43:11-12 ERV

Belonging

I can say no better than did Charles Spurgeon:

“Babes in Christ.”

—1 Corinthians 3:1

Are you mourning, believer, because you are so weak in the divine life: because your faith is so little, your love so feeble? Cheer up, for you have cause for gratitude. Remember that in some things you are equal to the greatest and most full-grown Christian. You are as much bought with blood as he is. You are as much an adopted child of God as any other believer. An infant is as truly a child of its parents as is the full-grown man. You are as completely justified, for your justification is not a thing of degrees: your little faith has made you clean every whit. You have as much right to the precious things of the covenant as the most advanced believers, for your right to covenant mercies lies not in your growth, but in the covenant itself; and your faith in Jesus is not the measure, but the token of your inheritance in him. You are as rich as the richest, if not in enjoyment, yet in real possession. The smallest star that gleams is set in heaven; the faintest ray of light has affinity with the great orb of day. In the family register of glory the small and the great are written with the same pen. You are as dear to your Father’s heart as the greatest in the family. Jesus is very tender over you. You are like the smoking flax; a rougher spirit would say, “put out that smoking flax, it fills the room with an offensive odour!” but the smoking flax he will not quench. You are like a bruised reed; and any less tender hand than that of the Chief Musician would tread upon you or throw you away, but he will never break the bruised reed. Instead of being downcast by reason of what you are, you should triumph in Christ. Am I but little in Israel? Yet in Christ I am made to sit in heavenly places. Am I poor in faith? Still in Jesus I am heir of all things. Though “less than nothing I can boast, and vanity confess.” yet, if the root of the matter be in me I will rejoice in the Lord, and glory in the God of my salvation.

Think

Hellfire and brimstone, words we hate to hear. So we search out the softer thoughts. As if our searching nullifies God’s words.

Truth and purity, two more ideas we really can’t get used to. So we search out some kind of compromise. As if, in our searching, we change the nature of life.

Do you know what the topic will be in the valley of judgment? Hellfire, brimstone, truth, and purity.

I know we don’t want to listen to this. Do you think somehow our desire for compromise will disappear when we stand before the face of the living God?

Compromise only creates more forks in a meandering road that goes nowhere in particular. The only thing compromise has in common with the narrow road Jesus spoke of, is that it is a road. Let’s have enough common sense to ask, “where does this lead”.

Destroyed From Within

Sitting here this morning thinking of the things in America. I am amazed. That the voices of divisive ignorance are so loud. I am astounded. That there are so many who agree with this divisiveness. They say yes to the “spinners”. The leaders do not fear death, they fear the volume of stupidity.

Still, the destroyer is not satisfied. For America still has soundness in her bones.

It is like the garden that was planted is being overrun with fools whose hands are full of seeds from weeds. What they are planting is not edible and it surely chokes out the food.

I just shake my head in dismay. The streets are becoming populated with screaming insanity. The homes are divided before the child is born. Righteous wisdom is refused.

What then is to be the outcome?
