Count it All Up, if You Can

15th 16th feb 2012 149Today’s date is Feb. 16, 2012.  Has anyone noticed how much has changed in the world in the past three years?  Can you name all the major changes?  Can you keep up with the current wave of anti?  Anti conservative, christian, profit, responsibility, truth, peace, and more.

I’ve made up my mind that this is the dawn of the tribulation.  It doesn’t matter what others think.  And it doesn’t even matter if I’m right or wrong.  What matters is that these times are more violent and godless than ever have been on the face of the earth.  It used to be certain countries had special problems with evil.  While some went about life in relative “righteous” behavior, some actively searched out wickedness.  But now the entire world is bending themselves toward greed and every kind of wickedness.  Even the leaders of the world are joining in the fracas; embracing lies as a form of governing the people.

What matters is that Jesus has been calling all of us to repentance and belief in His Glorious salvation.  What matters is that God’s people make a serious effort to rid themselves of every evil sin.  What matters is that, if I’m right, the Lord is about to unleash a whole lot more than the wickedness of man against man.

Wake up and smell the blood folks.  It’s in the wind.

Noise Pollution, Sin Pollution

Ear

People often work in noisy places.  Some work the flight line.  Jet engines roaring, whining, and causing audible chaos to the ear.  Others work in metal shops.  The clanging, scraping, and grinding noises could deafen a man in a minute or two.  There are a lot of places where we work that threaten to rip our ears off our head, or at render them useless.  But men survive this onslaught.  Ear protection and just plain blessings from God, allow men to endure this with some ease.  After a while they hardly notice the level assaulting them.

People often live noisy lives.  Busyness, hatred, lies, greed, immorality, all assault them, all day and night.  They endure this chaos with ease after a while.  And they hardly notice the level assaulting them.  What will they think if we speak of a life without all the trappings of sin?  They would look at us as if we are crazy.  Like the workers in noisy places, they can’t imagine going through life without the “normal”.

There is a peace above the din, a steady calm away from sin.

Where “normal’s” not the way of life; absent of this lowly strife.

It’s here!  It’s here!  Come taste with joy!  The Peace which never does destroy.

Ah Peace, ah the peace!  Silent peace in Jesus.

Romans 12: 18

“If it be possible, as much as in you lieth, be at peace with all men.”

Ok.  I hear the meaning of this passage loud and clear.  Some passages in the Bible are not easily divided in their meaning.  But this is certainly not the case here.  Or is it?

Men are corrupt by their very nature.  We can’t know all things, so we often get involved with things we don’t understand.  On top of that, there are millions of men who plot to gain the upper hand every moment of every day.  Then we have those who decide to refrain from fighting all together.  Somehow we are expected to make sense of these things and learn to live at peace with everyone?  Not really.

There are moments of clarity we all receive.  There are situations which demand that we take a stand against the desires of another.  I’m not talking about judging others here.  But we all have faced a situation or thousand, in which, we were expected to simply cow tow and shut up, take it on the chin….. and other weird responses to evil.

I could go into detail about our responses to such things.  I could use a million examples to help any reader come to an understanding about how to live at peace with others.  But who would read it?  And even if they would read forty billion words typed, who could live it?  Any situation encountered would surely have a subtle difference from any example I could come up with.  So I will use common sense here and simply say that, “If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him.”  (James 1: 5)

Who can navigate the morass of human expectations?  And the more people involved, the worse it gets (if that is possible).  And what shall we say if the world begins to take on “good deeds” without Christ Jesus at the helm?  How do we hope to please all men?  We simply can’t.  That is why we are given the perfect wisdom of God; so that we can maneuver through this world without getting caught in the stupidity of the world’s perplexing puzzles.

If you want to please everyone, you’re welcome to try.  But you’ll quickly become nothing more than a stick in the path.  And someone will surely come along and kick you out of the way.  We are compelled to stand strong for certain things.  The answer to all this ends up where it starts:  God.

By His Grace.

The Living God Alone is the Strength to Save.

Hand

We, who are dressed by the Lord Himself, call to you.  The words are spoken in your hearing.  These words are the same words all men have heard from the fall of Adam.  And they will be testified to in the Great Assembly of God’s people.  Heaven will resound with the words you now hear His people speak.

I do not write that without a purpose.  Consider this, you who rail against God and His people.  What you now hate, in regard to the Holy Words of the Gospel of God, you will hate for eternity.  For if you cannot stand before the Holy words spoken by the lips of man, how will you suppose to stand before the source of those words?

Rant and rail against God’s people.  Go ahead and have your day.  For there is a day coming when only those who love Him will stand.  I urge you to consider this truth.  I urge you will all hope that you will hear and consider these things with an earnest heart.  I do not wish your death.  But I tell you a truth:  If you remain rebellious before the Most High God, you will surely not inherit His blessing.

Do not suppose that heaven is a place of peace for those who reject His means of peace.  Eternity of peace belongs to those who obey the Lord through Jesus.  Speak what you will.  Your words do not change what is true.  And if you deny the words of God, wether from the mouths of man or the mouth of God, you deny yourself entrance into His Peace.

And do not let your heart be fooled by the imagination of man.  There is indeed a God who has set this place ablaze with His testimony.  And He has set limits on all men.  The limit imposed on His people is within His hand to deliver.  And His Holy Wisdom dictates what is given to each of His people.  Yet the limit of the wicked remains within the grasp of their fingers.

By His Grace.

Inner Peace.

As I sought inner peace. My fingers turned over every act I had ever done.  Good or bad, I examined them as they reached my fingers.  Then I noticed the selfish little bugger looking over my shoulder to see if I would stir up righteous acts as I dug around. I turned to take a good look at who would be following me around within the dark haunts of my soul. It was me! As I sought inner peace, I was actually seeking self righteousness.

Fool that I am. There is One righteous. And He is not me.

The Faint Rumblings.

Another day, another lightning storm. This was...

Image via Wikipedia

The world around us is beginning to crash to the ground.  Listen to the sound of destruction.  It comes from the hills.  Like distant thunder we hear the faint rumble of hopelessness and death.  Listen!  Be still and listen with all your heart.  The approach is in progress.  It is an approaching “storm of wickedness”.

God has promised that man will endure a horrible time in the last days.  His wrath has been held back for thousands of years.  He has been patient and loving for everyone who will call upon Him.  And He has shown mercy on the godless and ungodly as they mark out their days in rebellion and cursings toward the Holy One of Israel.

But listen.  Can’t you hear that faint rumble?  It is the collapse of man’s ability to fend off chaos.  Man has determined that he is able to bring about peace on this world.  How can there be peace in a world of limited resources?  How can there be peace anywhere without the Living God directing the ways of man?

They have thrown His Holy Commands aside in favor of pleasure and pride.  Now they begin to pay the price.  And as the Day comes closer, the price will increase.  God will be glorified.  And rebels will be subjected to humiliation, defeat, fear, and destruction.  Listen to the faint rumble.

By His Grace.
