Challenge

I present a challenge to all.  It doesn’t matter how you perceive Christ.  Come and convince me that anything other then the full acceptance of His Gospel is truth.

Invited is the scholar.  Welcome is the agnostic.  The atheists already know they have been invited openly.  Invitation is extended to the religious.   Let the drunkard try to compel me this way is better.  Come and speak to me about finance, and how money is the end of all good things.  Let the violent receive the best of House seats.  Let the timid display the grandiose crown of their fear.

Regardless who you are, come and convince me.

Christ Jesus is king of heaven and earth.  By His merciful grace I am his servant.  It will not be me you challenge.  It will be the living God in me.

Let us all either “Put up or shut up”.

Why am I making this challenge, and doesn’t it seem rather absurdly stupid?  Yeah, it does.

I’m making this challenge because I am sick of watching the world decay all about me.  I am sick of watching Christian cower,  all the while the Living God promises strength.

By the looks of things around me, I surmise one of us is a liar.  Either it is Man or it is God in Christ.  You know the summation of that.

At the outset, I will admit that I know nothing about Islam, Buddhism, and whatever other religion you want to throw on the table.  All I know about them is that they are false.  I will speak of the gospel in Christ.

Required materials: Pack a lunch.

Is, Was, Will Be

When I wrote these words they were my “now”.  When you read these words they appeared before you in your “now”.   But as each word “was” written or read, it is no longer “now”.  Each word became what was.  That sounds like gibberish.  But it speaks of something vastly important.

We may remember but we cannot re-live.  It is only give unto man that he may live in what is.  Why then do we all struggle so hard to live in what was?  And how do we know that our memory is clear?  How do we know that we remember with fullness of understanding?

Who can change what has been done?  We may do again so that we may rectify what we found wrong.  But that does not change what has been done.  It only “does” again.

The past and the future are equally beyond our grasp.  In our memories we are helpless.  And the future looms as darkness.  Man is utterly helpless.

God in His wisdom created time; moments of “IS” come and go relentlessly.  Like a singular spike in an eternal line of doing.  Who has ears to hear this?  Who is willing to understand?

If a man has peace in what was it is because God has had mercy and forgiven.  If a man is not afraid of what is coming it is because he trusts the promise of the Holy One.

Anxiety lives just behind us and just in front.  But true peace is found in what is.  As long as we strive to live in what we remember we will face anxiety.  As long as we brace ourselves for what comes next anxiety dresses us as a garment.  But peace is found in faith alone.

The name of the sovereign God is “I am that I am”.  He alone owns what was.  And He does with it what pleases Him.  He alone owns what will be.  And He alone does what pleases Him to do.  Why then do his people live looking backward or straining forward?

Since we cannot change what was, we are forced to either live in anxiety or receive His peace.  And since we cannot know what comes we are forced either to live in anxiety or to receive His peace.  Both require faith.

God is.  Therefore if we follow him we must also live in what is.  To do otherwise only brings doubt.  And if that is the case he is right to refer to us as “ye of little faith”.

Leave what was in the hands of he who is.  Likewise leave what will be in the hands of he who is.  Strive only to do in faith.  In this you will find immeasurable peace.  In this you will come to understand that his burden upon you is light indeed.

Who can decipher the deeds he has done according to what is true?  And who has known the mind of God that he is sure of what will happen next?  If we are that tiny then why do we not believe?

God alone gives true understanding of these things.  Philosophers and poets have given their whole life to understand these things and to write them.  But those who are in Christ Jesus find themselves living them effortlessly.

Let the world work with their hands to provide what will be.  Their folly is evident.  Let the world build their filthy temple on the foundation of what was.  They build on nothing.  But let God’s people understand.  We do not build at all.  We trust in the Sovereign Lord.  His name is Christ Jesus.

Pushed

I got used to it.  So did you.  A long time ago, perhaps before we were born, we got used to it.

There was plenty of things to keep me busy.  So it didn’t matter that I was being forced to move beyond my will.

Oh, there were times when I really, really, desired to remain in a certain place a while longer.  But the push came anyway.  I got used to even this annoying aspect of life.

Let a man push me like time does and I’ll grow angry at him.  But his push is momentary.  And time comes along to push me past that point also.  So I get used to it.

WHAT’S THAT ON THE HORIZON?

There’s a light approaching.  I’ve heard about this place.  “I don’t want to go”.  But the familiar push comes anyway.

Compelled, we are.  We will enter that contractual closure.  We were handed a certificate of life when sperm met egg.  That certificate expires on the separation of soul and body.

“I don’t want to go”.  But I’m so used to being pushed that I forget to even give consideration to that hand at my back.

My skin rips away.  Muscles leave me.  Bones no longer support.  Restraint is gone.  But another certificate of contract is applied to me now.

Something comes to mind.  Even in this place of pushing, something comes to mind.   What is the substance of that contract which will replace the one I am currently living under?

Will it be life?  Will it be death?  Now is the moment to choose.

Time is the invention of the One who pushed me toward that eternal contract.   He has allowed me to taste this temporal contract.  And has warned me sufficiently about the contract which lay on the horizon.

Here it comes.  HEY!!!!!!  YOU!!!!!   Stop fiddling around with that gadget and look up!  Listen to me!  But the man looks up with dazed eyes and groping hands.  He wants that gadget.  He’s got no interest in what I’m trying to tell him.

He too is being pushed.  His contract will terminate.  A new one will be applied.  What then?

Phenomenology Response

Sometimes (actually more often than not) the Lord directs our words with a specific flavor when we converse with others about the nature of Himself and the Gospel.  I wanted to share His reply to an individual who is searching out the meaning of (or in) life.  Perhaps you too will find it interesting and useful:

Chinny:  I had never heard of phenomenology.  But the concept has rattled around in my mind for decades.  I didn’t think the world would have a word for what comes natural.  But, go figure.

Every man can approach an understanding of life from any aspect he chooses.  Who am I to say we are wrong as we search out the truth.  On the other hand, when we find a helpful directive, it is wise to attempt to share what we know.

Please allow me to respond to the concept of understanding the ultimate meaning of and in life.  If we are striving to understand or grasp the absolute truth of any subject, we may toy with lesser values in the beginning.  But there is a place where diluted materials stop providing information.  I have reached that lack of answers years ago.  And was forced to turn to pure materials to develop a pure understanding of what is pure and true.  Scientifically speaking, we get the answers we deserve according to the purity of the experiment.

People, in their best basic format, are full of misunderstandings, differings of opinions, and tossed about by all kinds of misinformation.  It seems a bit crude to me that we should strive to understand the perfection of God truth by linking together a mass of fallible knowledge.  Therefore, I would suggest that we would be better served in our quest by searching out the purest truth available to man.

The truth we seek should not be a peaceful and joyfilled understanding.  We have both established that man’s relationships will be full of turmoil.  So we surmise that any understanding of purity will necessarily be a bit disquieting to a tumultuous creature.  Only after repetition and learning can we hope to endure that truth with any sense of peace.  In other words, we come to understand the value of purity by experience alone (assuming that we have found what is pure and make it our specific target of bending our will.)

This is a very difficult subject, as is proven by the amount of words men have employed to research it.  I believe you and I are on the cutting edge of balance between true discovery (of a personal nature).  Now what remains is the ability to willingly approach the subject minus that sickness of pride that attends every man.  Don’t misunderstand that comment about pride.  It lives quite vibrantly in every one of us, and often goes undetected by our own perception.  It is quite obvious to others, however.  And, in the end, we find that we have not reached the fullness of understanding simply for lack of true humility.

I hope I have added something to the conversation here.

The Advocates of Destruction

The Liberal International, a global federation...

The Liberal International, a global federation of liberal political parties and institutions, was founded in 1947. It represents one attempt in a long tradition of liberals trying to establish cross-cultural and transnational connections through global organizations. (Photo credit: Wikipedia)

In order to see the world through the eyes of a corrupt leader you need to discount two things:  The judgment to come and God’s ability to read even the thoughts of every man.

I wonder at the remarks that come from the liberals sometimes.  I wonder what kind of planet they think they live on.  Perhaps science fiction has played a larger role in their formation than reality itself.  None of the down-to-earth ideas that “regular” people live their life by seem to apply to them.

They advocate eating only healthy food.  Who can afford it today?  They advocate doing away with traditional energy.  Again, who can afford it?  They advocate doing away with religion.  Who can afford it?  They advocate spending to solve debt.  Who can afford it?  They advocate protection to environment and animals at the expense of humanity.  Who can afford that?  They advocate tolerance of every idea while they demean conservative values.  Who can afford that?  They advocate that truth is subjective while they subject everyone to their way of thinking.  Who can afford that?

If given full rein, they would spend themselves into starvation, over population, utter wickedness, and eternal death.  Who can afford that?
