Unworthy

A car with a bad engine is unworthy of your money, unless you have the means to fix it.  And if your car behaves poorly, you begin to search for ways to repair it or to get another one.

If a road is closed because there is no bridge, only the true idiot continues undeterred.  The tiniest  modicum of wisdom forces people to find another route.

You can read the signs your car gives you, you can read the signs on the road.  How is it that so many do not read the signs of warning in their dilapidated soul?

The philosopher Plato said, “The unexamined life is not worth living”.  Isn’t it true, the one who ignores signs of warning encourages a bad day.

Your life is broken.  If you don’t know that, you haven’t examined it very closely.  Even according to the man Plato, your life then is not worth living.  What’s your response to all this?

If a mechanic pulls up to a stop sign next to you and tells you he is willing to fix your falling car for free, wouldn’t he get your interest?  Well I’ve pulled up next to you in the body of this message.  I know the one who can fix your broken life.  His name is Jesus.

After Time Stands Still

Do you believe there is such a thing as a 24 hour day?

Do you believe that seven of them make a week?

How about a month, a year, 10 years, a hundred years, and so on?

Do you believe that there is such a thing as a million years?

Do you believe there is such a thing as a billion years, or even a trillion?

Do you believe there is such a thing as a never ending time, that thing called eternity?

How long do you expect to live?

What’s going to happen to you after you are dead?

Eternity is a smidge bit longer than you will live here, isn’t it?

Do you think it might be good to find out everything you can regarding what happens after death?

How many people do you know that have even looked into this?

If you have studied at length in regard to this life, have you studied at all in regard to Eternity?

Do you think it’s strange that people are so ignorant about such an important issue?

Isn’t it funny how people just accept the popular belief about these things, and don’t bother to look into them themselves?

Those people who are in charge of damage control, often take a close look at the worst case scenario.  By doing this they often avoid the lesser troubles.

When it comes to the volume of religions on this world, I suggest that you take a look at Christianity.  There you will find much adeu about Hell, or at best complete annihilation.

What possible scenario could be worse than spending eternity in a place of agony and torment?

I know there’s a lot of people who would say I am completely insane to even suggest these things.   What if the remote possibility says, “I’m right”?

God Born Habits Rescue From Dereliction

I was just thinking of the things that the Lord Jesus has taught me over the years.  Above all other lessons, the lesson of creating habits has been the most useful.

He has caused me to make a habit of doing the things that don’t normally need to be done.  So that when they do need to be done, they are just a natural extension of my normal day.

By this he has also taught me to notice when things are not right.  If I go about my tasks in a habitual manner I notice when a piece of it is missing.

By this he has taught me to be a somewhat righteous worker.  I mean, the habits he has taught me to employ, are the habits I am told I must use by those who pay my wage.  I make less mistakes.  I don’t cut corners.  And by the habits, I generally make a good use of time.

You may think that man can learn this by himself.  Perhaps.  But that is not the general rule is it?  And why would anyone think that?  Are they trying to avoid a relationship with the living God?  Likely.

There is so much more to say about how the Lord Jesus has rescued me from folly and the insanity of dereliction.  But if a man will approach him, and ask to be taught the things that matter.  The Lord will show him these things.

If you too could have these, why would you not ask him?
