Filthy Putrid Tares!

Are you a “Tare”?  It’s highly unlikely that you’d be reading this if that were so.  Tares don’t go looking to better themselves in Christ.  And they don’t go snooping around in holy oriented writings.

They might be able to mingle among the wheat.  But they do that for identity purposes.  It’s not that they admire the wheat.  They’re not “wannabe” Christians.  They’re socialites that like being identified with the “glamorous” lifestyle of dedicated Christianity.  How pathetically lacking in insight.

There’s nothing glamorous about Christianity.  Dying to self, serving with no thanks, being hated for the way we think, and being outcast (often) from even those who seek to serve the Lord.  There is nothing glamorous about such a life.  How pathetic then are those who desire to be identified with such, yet make no attempt to “become” on their own.

No, if you’re a tare, you’re not likely to sit at home and read such an article as this.  So that begs the question: “Why did you write this then?”

Because I wanted to write something about the problem of the wheat and tares among us.  Because there are so many articles already written by a myriad of authors.  Because the problem still persists, and little can be done about it.  Because the wheat often suffer at the infiltration of filthy hearts.  Because I despise such a soul’s disregard for what is holy.  Because I wanted to poke fun at their obvious lack of respect for the Living God.  And because I hate what such people have done to the beautiful assembly of dedicated hearts.  Wherever they appear, there is a putrid stench of “self” floating through out the body of Christ!  And this comes to us courtesy of Christ’s enemy.

Let them come read.  Let them come and be ashamed.  Let them come and consider that they have no part in the promises of Christ to His people.  Let them come and realize that they will be gathered before us!  Let them come and understand that the Consuming Fire awaits their “first plucking”.  Let them repent of their selfish ways!  Let them realize that God desires none to perish, but for all to come to the full knowledge of salvation.  Let them REPENT and LIVE!

“The Righteous State”

We could write about the joy and war of walking in “The Way”.

But what a waste of words for those who pleasure all the day.

The quiet joy of righteousness they know no thing about.

Just mention “Thanks through holiness”,  you’ll see them shudder and pout.

For what they need to hear will fall on plugged up ears.

They consider such great words as only from their peers.

But shall we hold the pen in place,

Though such refuse to run the race?

Perhaps tis not to them we write,

But those who seek with all their might.

The audience is not the question.

We simply write God’s clear Salvation.

They cannot say amen to such,

As love the way of man so much.

But there are those who hunger still.

We write that they may have their fill.

For none will have eternal part,

But those clean hands and purified heart.

No sin will never enter in.

Beautiful wretches!  Let them begin!

Lovely souls with hearts contrite.

Lacking hope and void of might!

Their beds awash with tears of fright,

From crying all throughout the night!

Come repentent ones and taste

Forgiveness and “The Righteous state”.

By His Grace

Repent and Believe. How?

When I walked through this world, and was full of sin and rebellion, I came upon some people who did not walk in sin and rebellion.  They did what was right by the Lord’s commands.  And they encouraged others to do the same.  I joined myself to their cause.  But I was not transformed to be like them.

What they did came from the strength and promise of He who can not lie.  What I did in mimic of them was from my own understanding, strength, and struggle with my sins.  I wanted what they had.  But I didn’t know how to get it.

In short, I was practising their faith through my own religion (Religion being man’s ways of pleasing his version of God).  As was inevitable, it all fell apart when I was removed from their presence.  Many practise the religion of a “good life”, while they remain locked in their sins.  What they do won’t last.  For they pursue their righteousness on their own strength.

What has turned the corner for me?  Two things have transformed me.  Which came first I can’t say.  1. I began to distance myself from the sins I loved so dearly.  In Bible talk that would be “I repented of my sins”.  2. I received the gift of forgiveness from Jesus, and learned from Him.

I, then, repented and believed.  The punishment pending for the wicked caused me to repent of my sin.  The love of Christ Jesus caused me to believe.  But it was not a one time event.  Repent and believe is a pattern of life as a Christian.  If you’re sincerely on the path of Jesus’ people you will find something interesting and identifiable.   Repenting and believing are a moment by moment thing.  Every action comes under an awareness of His presence.  Every thought is put under the microscope of Holiness.  Repent and believe at 3 am.  Repent and believe at noon.  Repent and believe at 4 pm.  And so it goes.   It is  the power of Jesus in my very soul that gives the energy and direction we lack without Him.

By His Grace.

Hear the Lord of Glory

Oh that the world around us
Those who will die the death
Might know the Lord of mercy
And recognize His voice.

Then they would not murmur
Against things they cannot see
And would joyfilled see His hand at work
And Glorify His name.

Why would you die? The Lord is asking
His hand stretched out in love
I set the world to spin for you
I call you from Above.

The work is Great to save their souls
It cannot be done with man
For though they die and fade away
It’s He alone who can.

I hear You Lord in a fallen leaf
I see your love in rain
I’m here to bid them turn from sin
And Glorify Your Name.
