Is Jesus Trustworthy?

It is impossible for God to sin.  To sin is to deviate from perfection.  Such an action can only be done by anyone who is not God.  God himself is the standard of perfection forever (a redundant phrase for perfection and forever are synonymous).

There is one who decided perfection was too high to hold.  Both in word and deed, an accusation was made against God: “You demand too much of us.  You do not provide what is necessary for us to obey.  Therefore sin is our only alternative.  If not now, it is only a question of when.”   (Isn’t this what man is saying even today?   And by saying this aren’t we questioning the trustworthiness of Christ?)

By this he shattered the love of God.  By this pride he spit in the face of the one who made him and granted him his place.  (You can read of his demise in Ezekiel chapter 28)

The result of that choice is chaos and death.  This “other” fell from glory and took one third of the angels with him. Anywhere you find the creatures who willingly fell from perfection, (or man who has never known perfection) you will find chaos and death.  They were banished from heaven and now make their place among us.

This is the reason for the decay of the world.  Wickedness was born long before the birth of the first man at the hands of God.  And it finds its display among our words in the temptation of Eve.

But the gospel tells us of One who cannot sin.  This One has been with the Holy Father from the very beginning, and will never deviate.

How do we know we can trust Jesus?  Because he has been tested and found faultless.  He has been with the Holy Father from the beginning.  Perfection has been the mark of his character.  Unlike “the other”, the Lord Jesus has never questioned his Father’s will, nor had pride in his glorious position.

This One who is from eternity, has lived among us in this place of testing; the place where the hearts of men are tested to see if they will love God or self.

In obedience to his Father’s desire, Jesus took on a body of flesh.  If you read the account of the gospel you will find him tested viciously in every possible way, yet it was found to be without fault.

Pride in his glory is the instrument of condemnation for the “other” who fell.  But no one will find pride in the Holy Lord Jesus, the Christ of God.  Instead we find him full of humility and obedience.  Even though he has been with the Father from the beginning.

Unlike the adversary of God, you will never find fault in the Son of God.  The test for “the other” was his life.  The pride of his own glory destroyed him.  But the test of the Son of God was in his death.  In this he arrived at a place “the other” could never hope to attain.

We can trust the Lord Jesus because he was beaten viciously by he who cannot be trusted, yet was found faultless.  Even man was incited to add his own blows to the Holy Son of God.

He was sent to his creation to speak of the love and righteousness of God, and to endure the ultimate testing.  But instead of being received, he was horribly abused.  Still no pride rose up in him.  He submitted to their accusations, hatred, violence and rejection.  And by this his faithfulness to the father was proven.

By His love and righteousness God has granted him all power and strength and glory and honor.  “The other” will die but Christ lives on forever.

Yes you can trust the Lord Jesus!

The reason for Christmas

Christmas always gets out of hand.  This is because it has been stolen by people who have absolutely no idea regarding the Majestic reason for it.  I do not say this to blame them.  A sinner corrupts where it can because it is a sinner.

But I thought it might be helpful to remind us of the reason for Christianity.  Perhaps then the Majesty of our celebration of Christmas can find renewed appreciation.

We are saved because we have no rightful claim to rival against God.  The sin of our enemy is that he thought equality with God was something to grasp.  It is utterly impossible that we should foster such thinking.

With this in mind we perceive correctly what is our place among God’s eternal kingdom.  Consider the love of a man toward his generous enemy.  Though he deserves to be destroyed with the rest of his countrymen, he is offered a lavish and peaceful life in his enemy’s kingdom.  Such love is presently being tested among all who will respond to the invitation from God.

He will utterly destroy all claims toward His throne.  He alone is vital.  God alone is righteous.  The Living God alone is good.  Nothing will ever secure an accusation against Him.  Thus He has prepared One who will minster between all creation and Himself.  Yet look at the very nature of the One God has chosen.

5 “In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus:

6 Who, being in very nature God,
did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage; 7 rather, he made himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness.  8 And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to death—even death on a cross!
9 Therefore God exalted him to the highest place
and gave him the name that is above every name,10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, 11 and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.”

The Father of Lies

He saw.  He learned.  He practised.  But he was not able to contain what he took in.  Pride swallowed him from the inside out.  As the righteous attributes of God grew, so did pride.

One moment surfaced the thought, “I will make a challenge.  I am worthy to be first.”  But it was just a thought.  Or was it?

Pride was nearly mature now.  The harvest of sin was near.  No, it was not “just a thought” .  It was the very instrument of harvest.

In deed, you will be first.  You are the father of lies.  The Lord Himself has given you that title.  And what was your desire has been given to another.  You contrived to murder Him.  But, to your horror, His righteous heart cannot remain in the grave!  HE IS FIRST!  And He is worthy to remain first forever.

No more challenges will surface.  None of those being groomed to take your place will ever consider equality with God something to be grasped.  No one will ever appear again who will resemble you.  Those He is redeeming are not from holy stock.  They are of sin and blood.  Jesus has purchased them with the very blood you caused to run free.  This will be their mark for eternity, “The Holy Lord of life has had mercy on us and for this He is our God”!

You are undone!  He, the Holy Lamb you slew, has opened your eternal reward.  There you will utterly perrish.  All who worship you will accompany you.  We will all turn our backs to you and truth will live among God and His people forever.  Amen!  Amen!  Amen!

What?

What did God ever do that anyone should hate Him?  What?  Did he give life?  Is that worth hatred?  Did He give items that induce joy?  Is that worthy of hatred?  What?

It is the flesh that hates the Lord.  Yet there’s more.  The hatred of the flesh is but a shadow of the hatred satan has for the Lord.  Yet, why hate the Lord who gave life to those who hate Him?  Even now, He gives them what they need.  Yet, “They have hated Me for no reason”.

Greed hates love.   God created satan.  Satan turned to see the glory of God’s righteous qualities.  “I will make those qualities mine and the others will love me.”  But time moved on.

Love for the righteous qualities of God became an obsession for grandeur.  Satan desired the position of God.  “Then they will love me”, he thought to himself.

Death was born when hatred entered in.  Where is that point?  Only those who begin to love the Lord can point to that place.  Because, where we die is the very place where we begin to live.

As long as you refuse to embrace the Lord Jesus, you continue in the hatred for the Father.  God the Father has loved The Son with a love which knows no breaking or separation.  This is not so for the way God the Father will treat His enemies.  The end of such hatred is uniquely singular, death.  I beg you, give this some serious thought.

Who waits?

When the time comes to be born and God says now is your moment, what baby consciously says to itself, “No, I will wait.  I will refuse to do God’s will”.

When it comes our turn to die do we consciously disobey the rule of God and stay? Do we really have that kind of power?

After Jesus was baptized in the Jordan, the Holy Spirit descended on him like a dove and immediately it forced him to go out into the desert to be tempted by Satan.  Compelled, is more likely the idea.  Jesus had come to do the will of his father in heaven how could he be forced to do what he wanted to do?  Those who love God desire to do His will.

But us.  Look at us, how we resist the Holy Spirit.  How can that be good or true?  If our attention, desire and eyes are set on the things of this world we will resist God. And God will resist us.

Therefore we are urged day and night to turn our attention to God’s will, to learn to love Him, and to depart from the things of this world.  To love Him is to become able to respond without delay or questioning.   Have we arrived at that measure of love for God?

Two directions

It has been often misunderstood and miss represented. Eternal life and eternal death are not near each other.

It has been written as if the paths are parallel and lead us to a place separated simply by a wall.

The Bible does not teach that there are any similarities between heaven and hell. Unless you want to count that there are souls of men in each.

Instead the Bible teaches that light has nothing to do with darkness. God’s ways have nothing to do with satan’s ways. God’s Way is spirit and life. Satan’s Way is flesh and death. God abhors the things of this world whereas satan loves them.

The paths to heaven and hell are not parallel they are running in opposite directions. There are no crossover street from one to the other. The only way off the highway to hell is to be picked up and transplanted into the highway of heaven. And this action can only be accomplished by the Son of God.
