What are we lookin at?

Don’t look at the bum.  Look at the man.  Look past his position in society.  Look past the dirt and a shame.  Look past the isolation.  Look past the potential violence.  See the child who desires love.

Don’t look at the Fashion, pretty hair, makeup and elegance.  Look at the woman.  See the precious little girl she still is.  See how she is caught up in what she was taught; the lie of seduction.  Help her see that what she has learned is not helpful; love her as a soul. 

Don’t look at the flashing smile, rehearsed gestures, pretty words and promises.  Look at the man who says he’s a politician.  In his place, the tools of his trade are lies.  But he is still a little boy.

Don’t listen only to the religious words a man speaks.  Look at the man.  Full of misunderstandings, he strives to master the unknown.  Help him do so with you in mind.  Then, benefit comes to both.

Why do we refuse to judge rightly?  Why are we so lazy that we receive the veneer without thought?  Love is not that willingly blind.  Why do we refuse the eyes that God is so willing to give?

Help where we can.  Correct where we must.  In all things, let our minds be directed by the Holy will of God.  Then our judgments can stand the test.

Don’t look at your accomplishments, no matter if they’re religious or secular.  Look at the man and weep.  Yet do not judge before the appointed time.  Assess with the sobriety of Christ.  Leave room for Life.  Forever, you will be nothing more than a baby.

Judge all things with eternity in mind. 

“THINK ETERNITY!”  Think love.  Do what it says!  Become the people you say you are.

How Far is Too Far?

Who is the Christ?  He is the absolute of everything good.  He is the absolute end of everything wicked or ungodly.  He is the very Living Word of the Living God.

Every word of God continues forever, for the Sovereign God is Living purity.  But God has sent his Living word among us that he may cease for the sake of his enemy’s lives; that God Himself may become the sacrifice. 

How great, earnest and eternal is the Living God’s pledge to save our souls?

Considering this I am struck by our lack of confidence.  Though it is eternally impossible for God to lie, and though he has sealed his intent in his own blood, somehow most people just can’t believe it.  No matter what they hear they want their own righteousness.  To those, I must say: what you want is an absolute impossibility.  Nothing that is unrighteous can, all of a sudden, become righteous by itself.  And all it takes is one tiny misstep or mistake.

Others have believed the message, but they find themselves doubting with a horrifying frequency.  They lack the courage to trust the word of the Living God.  They do not trust him enough to give him the entirety of their life.  To these God’s Living Word remains a nice religion, perhaps even a means of socially acceptable behavior.

How is the second group any different than the first?  First is to proud, the second is filled with cowardice.  What should either Group expect to hear on the day when they see the face of the Living God’s Holy and Righteous Word? 

Can it be said that by their lives they have called the Sovereign God a liar?

It is not for me to judge.  It is not for me to condemn or extend ungodly mercy.  I have only presented the argument and asked the question.

Wake.  You who say “Shhhhh”, wake.

Look.  You who close your sleepy eyes.

Listen. You who fill your ears with tripe.

Your legs are broken.

Yet you think you can run.

You have religion.

But you have no Strength.

Wake.  The Living God moves among you.

But your stupor of greed restrains your senses.

You do not shed blood.

Yet you murder the souls of thousands.

Look.  See how the children reflect the doings of the inner room of the parents.

Listen.  The children hate with abandon, for they are not taught to revere the Lord of Hosts.

You give birth to babies, breaking their legs before they can learn to walk.

Yet you expect them to run!

You gladly receive a happy word from fools.

But you despise the Holy Word from the Living God’s Holy Son.

You are dead, even as you think you live.

Seek the Lord while He can be found.

Look about you.

See how the door has shut in your face.

Look at the horror that is your precious hope.

Look in the streets!

Can’t you see what’s happening to your precious hope?

Seek the Lord or remain dead, even while you think you live.

Two Witnesses

Two men witness regarding the nature of God.  One man says there is no God, just get along together until you die.  So the people do as they please.  Another man comes along and says there is a God and his expectations are high.  What will the people do?

The people heard the testimony of two men.  There is nothing apparently different in their appearance, they are just two men speaking.  But the messages they bring are full of importance. 

Statistics tell us the people will side with the first one, and they were ridicule a second.  Why?

The answer is the pursuit of pleasure.

The Perfect Storm

Please come.  Look upon me and display your intent.  Either you will love the things the Lord has done in and through me or you will hate me.  I am a Christian.  Nothing good lives in me except what the Lord Jesus accomplishes.

If you love God you will love the things of His beautiful Son.  If you do not love God you will find nothing beautiful in His people.

“We will make a WAY for ourselves.  We will announce what is good.  We will make rewards for those who walk according to our way.  Thus we will nullify the ‘way’ of those who worship that jesus. 

We will call our way ‘good’, for it is good to live in contentment and peace with all men.  We do not need Christianity to do that.  And just look at how many Christians agree with our ‘good’ way.”

The Holy, Righteous, Eternal Living God looks on their plot and scoffs.  “You use what I have provided to mock me?  What will you say when I Glorify My Beautiful Son before your eyes?”

Where will the “way of man” be when the Righteous Son of God is revealed?  To whom shall you turn to vindicate your life?  You leaned on each other while a light breeze blew.  But how shall you find support when the perfect storm is brought to bear upon you?

Vain Superstitions

We are not called to frolic in the guestimations of the world regarding the Holiness of God.  We are called to join with Him in implementing His will among men.  While men make guesses regarding end times, the “Way”, the nature of Jesus’ salvation and glorification, God remains steady and sure.  He does not shift or change according to the limited understanding of man’s wicked contrivings regarding Holy.  God is.  And it is enough for us to live by the faith He gives each one of us.

Cease your constant wandering and rest.  It is God who works His will in His people.  Do not be swayed by all kinds of foolish words with which man builds his kingdoms.  They speculate about what is true.  It is God’s domain to KNOW what is true.  The one who follows Jesus will lay aside all this foolishness and pick up what is absolute.  God is willing to share wisdom to anyone who will ask.  And He will share this vast resource without judgment of any man’s history or bend toward wickedness.  Only, let us not give in to believing all the short sighted superstitions the world begs us to endure.  Hold firmly to Jesus and the truth He reveals.

Let those who will chase after vain knowledge; knowledge that is puffed up by the mind and wicked heart of man.  It is not the lot of Christians to cave to the foolish of the world around them who do not know the Lord of Glory.
