Dust

Our hearts are elevated from the dust of our creation by mere inches.  It is by the Grace of God that we can perceive anything more than this dust.  If our hearts soar above the dust, its because He has caused them to soar.  Our imagination can imagine certain things more than our life.  But God promises true life, life removed from this dust.

Have They Won?

Why do you walk so softly?  And why is your joy not shown?  Have they won?  Did they stifle your mouth?  You fear their ridicule and keep your joy to yourself.  Have you asked why?

They protect their sin with a great energy.  Look at how they stand against the One who made them.  When they keep your mouth shut they perceive a great victory.  Yet we know of a day when victory will belong to the one stifled.

Hold your chin up.  Straighten your back.  Speak of your joy with boldness and accept what comes.  How can we think He endured such things so that we can shuffle around like beaten folk?  Consider that Day.  Let yourself stand before Him and give account of your beatings.   How have we suffered for His Holy Name?  And what does He ask of us?  Perhaps He asks too much.  All the more shame to us.

WWJD. WijtutdN!

Considering WWJD: Does that mean we are guessing about what Jesus would do in our certain circumstance?  Why do we approach the will of the Living God by guessing?  Havn’t we been given the gift of the Holy Spirit?  And hasn’t He promised that this gift should be sufficient for All our needs?

I propose another saying: What is Jesus telling us to do NOW.  Don’t you hear Him?  If not there are at least two possible reasons:

1. You’re not a Christian.  Though you might say you’re one, where’s the proof of the Living God living in you?

2. You’re a Christian in rebellion.  For wasn’t the great accusation made against those who stopped their ears from hearing God’s will?

The Parting Warriors.

I was with them as they worshiped the One who is life itself.  And the power of His presence caused us all to reflect on eternity and true power.  The gathering was sweet and we shared our stories of His love.  And when we parted there was a feeling of joy mixed with a tiny loss of fellowship.  We all went out to live this faith He provokes.

A bit later, as I sat to order my meal, I saw others who had shared in His presence.  I didn’t know any of them.  But as I watched how they interacted with each other and those around them, I knew they were my brothers and sisters in Christ.  They are warriors of truth as all who profess His Holy name are.  And we see each other in passing as the warmth of fellowship fades away.

Then, as I watched a few finish their meal and leave, it occurred to me that they did a marvelous thing.  One by one they leave and go where I don’t know.  But as they leave they recede into darkness from my perspective.  They all go out into the dark world around us to do the will of He who is Light.  Though I don’t see them His work is accomplished every day.  He places His mighty hand before them as they walk away.  Directing their minds and hearts, even as I watch their backs leave my sight.

We may not see each other again in this place of testing.  But I know they serve the same Lord as I.  They are His and they do His will.  Yet there is another, more marvelous, thought.  Someone watched me go from there.  As I went out to serve Him, did anyone else notice how I faded into the dark world?  And does it matter that I might not have been noticed for the Glorious One’s Name?

It was just a moment of revelation.  Yet it builds the warrior up to do what is right without acclaim.  It is He who will be glorified by those who He teaches to love Him.  All Glory to the One who gives new life!

He is. We are His.

Jesus, Holy Son of God Most High, speak for me in the defence of the faith You have given.  Justify Yourself and hide me in Your blood stained robe of Powerful Righteousness.  You alone are God, for Your Father has bestowed that title upon You.   By Your Holy Grace I pray.  Amen.

Rise Up! You Serve He Who Has No End!

Though I falter in faith.  Though my sight can no longer see Him.  Though I stumble as to never rise in this world.  I will praise the Name of Jesus!  It is to His Glory that His people rise up.  And the grace He provides will not return to Him void!

You are His people!  Remember who He is,  The Great and Mighty God of all eternity!  You do not stand before Him as helpless people tossed to and frow by the winds of lies.  Though these lies penetrate to the heart those who deny His Name, we stand by the power of Holy blood poured out on the ground.  If the blood of Able still speaks, how much more will the blood of Jesus speak?  And if men find strength in a “good” man, how much more will we find strength in He who Lives forever?

Strike forth!  You are the people of the Most High God!
