Today. . .

O Man!

What have you done, that you wake every morning to consume without thanks?  What have you commanded to be built for your pleasure?  All the while forgetting the history that brought you TODAY.

It is God who supplies all the materials you misuse.  Stop and consider.

Yet, I perceive you will change nothing.  Today will be the same as all which came before; all praise to Man and disrespect to God.

Your greedy eye is focused on the possibilities of tomorrow.  With violence you gather.  With violence you retain.  With selfish ambition you laugh and dance with joy.  Yet the day will come when the One you have spurned appears to claim what is His.

You know what is required of you.

And shouldn’t someone speak on behalf of the One who owns all these things?  Shouldn’t the light blaze as the darkness pervades?

Dignity

No one digs a grave for the broken rotting tree.

Exposing its inward parts, it lays exposed for all to see.

Though it gave shelter and shade, and a break from the troubling winds, dignity in its trouble escapes its mortal grasp.

Gone unnoticed all its hundred years, it goes unnoticed by the caring hands of its benefactors.

How long has this been true for man?  Like a cow shot among the herd, the rest go about eating and drinking as if their fellow had never been.

Are we but animals?  Are we not designed to live in God’s image?

Then where is mercy?  Where is godly compassion?  Where is patience among the days expectations?  Where is dignity if we gather it only for ourselves?

Is this indeed, what Christ showed us?

Shall we honor a man only to cover him in dirt?  Or at best, shall we attribute sayings to the things he did among us?  Or will he carry testimony that a few cared deeply?  Deeply enough to give what no one can take.

Dignity is a living cause.  Many take it upon themselves to receive such from others.  But you cannot snatch dignity from the air.  If it is contrived it is apparent and useless.  Dignity must be given, and that by humble hands.

That Illogical Challenge

I remember the old challenge of the schoolyard bully, “Are you calling me a liar”  (That was said to me many times).  The only thing you could say and possibly avoid a beating, was nothing.

If your answer was no, you let him live without any repercussion.  He smelled weakness already.  You were going to get your butt beat.  If you said yes he found justification to do the same thing.

But the school yard is no detainment facility for bullies.  They graduate and move on into life.  I see them everywhere.  I even see reasonable people use their tactics.  It doesn’t matter: their social upbringing,  their age, or what possible justification they might imagine.  People will vent their hatred on anything they don’t understand.  And they absolutely abhor any other man telling them they’re wrong.

Let anyone challenge homosexuality and the challenger becomes a putrid stench.  Regardless what the godless say in response, they use the same challenge.  “Are you calling me a liar?”

This is their time.  Isn’t it?  They get to plot and rant and rave about everything wicked.  And there’s nothing any of the so-called weak can do about it.  Fine.  It’s your party.

Honestly I look so forward to leaving this place forever.  Jesus has put in me a desire for truth.  I wouldn’t have desired truth but the Lord had mercy to grant me that wisdom.  I yearn to leave behind these stupid idiotic challenges, in which neither side can win.

Yes the bully injures himself every single day he draws breath.  But he also spreads his venomous and innocuous “pride” to everyone he meets.

Look and see how he is praised for challenging truth.  “What a grand and brave soul to come out of the closet against the Most High God (and the people who love the Lord).  See how immensely he is praised.  I yearn to praise the Living God’s Holy Son.

Why Now?

All day long you go about your business, as if all you have to fear is the safety of your goods and your health.  I hear you, people of the world, I hear the noise of your machines.  I hear the words of songs that should never be sung.  I see how you parade around as if there is no account to be made.

Will you listen if I tell you?
Will you hear if I speak?
Will you care if I tell you I fear for you?
You have not in the past.
It’s not likely you will now.

All the noise of your godless ways will cease.   You will be caught by hands that encompass your entire soul.  All, as if one man, will be brought in chains to appear before the Living God.  You will be brought to account in an instant.

“Suddenly, in an instant, the Lord Almighty will come with thunder and earthquake and great noise,
with windstorm and tempest and flames of a devouring fire.”

The Fire of Emotion

From the Blues of Johnny Winter to the sweet song of Mommy with a nursery rhyme.  The function of music is to embrace emotion.

I watched Johnny Winter play.  Getting past his looks, his involvement in his music is kind of scary.  I can’t help but wonder whose emotion is he embracing?

There are only two spirits in this world.  One is of love, the other is of abandon.  Whose spirit embraces the music you listen to?

Who Will Love Jesus?

The work of God among us
Is the saving of unholy souls.
Who is willing to join him
In his Holy and righteous work?

First to those who believe,
That they may understand.
And then to the masses,
Who lack understanding,
That they too might “become”.

Who will respond to the call of God?
Who will fulfill his desire?
With blazing strength he will clothe,
With the fearlessness of fire.

When the Son of man returns,
Will he find “The Faith” on the earth?

The call of Ezekiel
Belongs to God’s people.

“If you love me you will keep My commandments.”
The size of the harvest is given into the hands of men.
Are we not commanded to go to the field and work?
