Evidence of Belonging

How should we spend our days?  Doesn’t it depend on whose you intend to be.

Let’s make a choice with finality.  Either Christianity is a mere religion, or it is the power of God to transform.  Either the words of God are benign “good sayings”, or they are filled with Holy Fire.  The life we lead proves the choice we’ve made.

Heaven rages with eternal love toward Man.  Blazing with holy duty, all of Heaven is busy in the preparing of the sons of God.  Construction of the age to come includes the preparation of those who will inhabit it.

Those who join in this holy frenzy will enter beyond this place with little change in their character.  Having a allowed God to create within them, they are fast becoming a welcome addition to the throne of Christ Jesus.

Such people have no room for trivia.  Such people do not hide in the shadows.  Though they are compelled to use the things of this world, they do not rise every morning to satiate the desires of the flesh.  Like sunflowers, they seek the will of the Living God to grow within them; always tracing the Son across every day’s sky.

On rising they call out to His Holy name in Jesus.  Without thought, the eyes of their soul look to him in every decision they make.  They will be welcome, for the work of God within them provides what is required.

Give thought to this.  Eternity is now.  Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for He who is Righteous, for they shall be filled!

The Pursuit of Discipline

A man will lack sleep.  He will let go the essential to focus on his desire.  The night is witness to his shadow on the wall, busily pursuing his ambition.

Suffering comes in variety of form as he disciplines himself to his intention.

He loses friends.  His house becomes unkempt.  His belongings rot away.  His reputation suffers irreparable damage.  With extremely keen focus, he chases after his desire with the most excellent of discipline.

Discipline has specific marks.  Ideally chaos suffers defeat through discipline.  But even in chaos (wicked abandon) a man may cause damage to everything and everyone else; that he may pursue his desire.

See how every man has intense desire within him.

The question is, intent.  To what does a man’s desire aspire?

By our nature our desire is bent toward selfishness.  But if a man will turn his desire toward the Holy One of God, discipline becomes the roots of life.

With excellent abandon of all that is around him, men pursue with diligence the discipline of accomplishment.  If this is true in the things that are useless, why not turn our discipline to what is Eternal Life?

Fruitless Abandon

With agony of soul, I woke up this morning.  I saw God’s desire clearly laid out; “Bring my word to the people that they may have life.”

I looked to the people and saw how they reject this call!  I saw how they turn their face from anyone who will be bold in Christ.  And the agony grew.

Oh!  How much He is willing to give!  How fearful we are to receive!  All the while, today will end like many others have; fruitless for eternity, filled with fear, perplexed at the growth of wickedness, and resigned to simply endure.

Let everyone examine.  Is this right?

Xanthium species

burrTemptation sits idle along every path a man might walk.  It does not have the sense to desire you.  It simply remains, deadly and dishonorable.

It waits with senselessness to bring shame to anyone who would stop to admire it.  And when the soul begins to admire sin, dishonor flourishes.

Temptation is no better or worse if a soul drinks its poison.  It is the man, who reals about, blind, drunk, and dying.  Temptation simply sits waiting to be consumed.

Men think of temptation as if it were an enemy.  Temptation is not smart enough to be aggressive.  No.  The enemy is not temptation.  The enemy is folly that is bound up in the desire of the man.

With our desire we dishonor the One who made us.  With our desire we destroy our legacy.  With desire we make the choice to be useless and damaging.  The one who desires temptation is the one who owns his own choice.

Nothing

In a fancy room, removed from the prying eyes of the general public, debate has taken place.  All members of the conversation emerged.  Each one went to his expected place.

As if rising to crescendo from the stillness of breath, the leader begins to speak.  With great confidence of his unalterable position, the Pope has declared that Jesus is no better and no worse than any other version of God on the face of this planet.

I look around and I see no change to the grass.  It is still green.  I look around and I see that all the buildings are still on their foundations.  I woke from sleep and took note that my eyelids functioned just fine.  Even my cell phone obeys my command to write.

See, the Pope’s power to bring Christ down is of no effect at all.  But I do wonder what the response of Islam might be.  I wonder how Islam feels about having their God brought level in a mud puddle with the Christ.

Any man can say anything he wants to say, it does not make his words true.  Any man can fill himself with truth for the grace of God abounds.  Or any man can revert from speaking the truth and become a blatant liar, for free will abounds in this place of shadows.

The world will be a buzz.  Heaven does not even notice.

Preferred Trophies

Our list of God given strengths cannot be a list of the things that were.  It is a living list.  Our strengths are no more frozen in time than are we.  Every moment brings a choice; do we wrestle with weakness, or take hold of victory.

The strengths of God are not trophies that we can put on display.  Rather, they are servants waiting to be deployed.

It is our weaknesses that are dead.  But I see so many put these on display.

Will it be said that we coveted what is not?  Or will it be said that we desired what is?
