Utter Love of Poverty

How needlessly the people suffer under an endless variety of oppressions.  How uselessly they cry out for release.  How hopeless are the cures offered by Man.  They are no cures at all.  They are simply pain killers.

How unspeakably lovely is the release of Christ’s strength!  There are no words among men to describe the wonderous release He offers.

They want freedom.  But see how they love the shadows.  They want riches.  But see how they desire those things that do not last.  They want to be well fed and clothed with security.  All the while they feed the body and purchase what protection the flesh can provide.

How long will they wait?  How much more violence must the soul endure?  Is there a limit to “want”?  Where is the place of submission?  Where is the place of receiving?

I wrote a post called “Dear Active Atheist”.  It was not quite as successful as I’d like, though it wasn’t a completely worthless venture.  I tried to offer a platform of reasoning.  But no one seriously took the offer.

So what have I learned?  I learned that men call themselves atheists because they love the idea that there is nothing to be accountable to.

I learned a crucial side benefit for them in their godless thoughts; with no conscience to hold them down, they allow themselves to seek all possible notoriety (regardless the cost to anyone else).

And lest I had forgotten, I am reminded of what selfish brute beasts they are.  If they are not busy pursuing selfish pleasure, they are actively destroying the lives of those with hope.    In the best of my estimation, they are not a benign tumor in the body of humanity.

If it is a pursuit of pleasure you desire, why don’t you just call yourself a hedonist?  Why go so far as to say there is no God?   So on that note, honesty just isn’t enough.  I don’t think you’re an atheist, I think you’re just willfully ignorant.  In which case you are nothing special at all.

I have also learned that the atheist is a thief.  If he is not actively doing damage to those with hope, he is stealing from the mass of humanity by failing to take into account the larger picture.  A man can only teach what he knows. 

The majority of mankind at least recognizes that there is a larger picture.  Denying the portion of religion and the supernatural, the Atheist robs his fellow man of what is apparently crucial knowledge to all.

Let me finish this by addressing self aggrandizement.  There’s no God in the atheist’s mind.  So he raises himself to fill the void.  If others don’t agree with his newfound royalty, the atheist becomes livid.  It is because of simple posts like this, that I have been witness to explosive outbursts that fall just short of the legal line.

Once again my conclusion is correct.  At best the atheist is a worthless member of society.  At worst he is violence in the waiting.

I have reported my observations according to what I witness.  If you atheists have something else to offer that can soften my observations toward you, please present it.  I am not hard hearted.  I simply lack any proof of your value.

And please, be wisely aware that displaying any of the things I have already mentioned will do absolutely nothing to change my observations.  What credible value are you to humanity?

Yes, I See You

Yes I see you.  And isn’t that what you crave, to be seen.  Yeah, you.  The one with the beard shaped so carefully.  The one with just the right clothing.  The one who thinks that the way he looks and what he owns carves him a large portion.  Yeah. . . I saw you.

You have plans for the old man you will be.  Great boasting of what you were.  And when sickness and health comes near, you will “face it like a man”.

But I also see what you don’t see.  I see a man sniveling and groveling before the Most High God.  Or else I see a man spitting venomous hatred at the living God, because God does not respect the majestic nature of this one who stands before him.  Yeah. . . I see you.

Do you think this only applies to the self aggrandizement of a man?  I see you, the woman who has social etiquette down to an exquisite fine art.  I see the child who has everything he wants, except a desire for patience or obedience.  I see the drunkard who’s proud of his ability to kill himself.  So many who are proud of their mind.  Oh you millions of misguided ungodly folk, yes I see you!

I see you in the here, and I see you in the there.  How is it you only have eyes for today?

What’s wrong with this picture?

From their own imagination, they gather to themselves great crowns of righteousness!  Not only do they boast in their own inheritance, but they refuse to honor the One who is Clean.

But go ahead, lap it up America; like a hungry dog at a bowl of milk.  The wrath of God waits patiently.

Construct of World Change

The world will use the Gospel of Christ as a rule of righteousness and social change.  The people of the Lord Jesus know better.

God does not save his people to be instruments of world change.  God saves his people that they may become instruments of Heaven.  The changes that are made, because of the Christian’s presence in this world, are simply a byproduct.  As we are transformed to serve the Living God in Christ, our thoughts, words, and actions necessarily influence those around us.

If you want to be a change agent in the world, for the sake of the world, then obey the constructs the world has already established.  If you want to be an ambassador of Christ to the world, you need to submit your life completely to him.

There is a distinct difference.  The world cannot see it.  But God’s people know it, very clearly.
