You Know a Secret.

You look at me and mock, as though you know a secret.

I am the body of Christ.

You frolic and dance in your festival of sin.

You are the world.

We are all made of flesh, yet a difference remains.

Your mocking is futile and you waste your limited time.

Your eyes are set on what can be seen.

And there is no understanding in your mind.

Yet you mock with limitless hatred for the Holiness of God.

I look at you and wonder how it is you are so blind.

Everything pure and Holy is hidden from your mind.

I look for pity from the depths of my soul.

And I am surprised to find calm and patience where the bag of pity was always kept.

I am not my own.

I have been bought with a price.

And you are not your own.

You are sold as a slave to sin.

I would tell you to look at your plight.

But you cannot see.

O’ Lord of Mercy, we ask your help.

That we might show them their need.

By His Grace.

The Lord Has Done This!

The Lord!  The Lord has done this!

My soul is at home while my body sucks dust.

Where your treasure is, so your heart will be also.

I am a citizen of heaven proclaiming the unseen.

Considered a fool among men, my lips stammer His Glory.

I have seen with my blindness a promise of He who cannot lie.

And my hands reach out frantically to touch the feet of The Righteous One!

No longer do I belong to this world of foolishness and sin.

I am His!

The Lord!  The Lord has done this!

Pure Service

For those who believe religion is enough to present yourself before the Most High God on the day of Judgment and receive that “Well done, good and faithful servant”.  I know this is what you currently believe.  And I know that what you’re doing by believing this is to shoot for the minimum service due to the Lord of Life.  You think you can have the best of both worlds.  That is, you think you can live in this world and perform your religious duties and be acceptable come that day.  Thinking on this, I stumbled across a way to describe what you are doing.

One man owns a very ornate cup.  And once or twice a week he takes his cup down from above the fireplace and takes a sip.  Swirling it around in his mouth, he then spits the water back into the cup.  Carefully putting the cup back in it’s dustless ring on the mantle, he turns to enjoy his life of ease.  He has done this for years.  And the cup is full of his spit and the dust which gathers from the room.

Another man has abandoned everything he had and moved into a house boat which was given to him by the owner of the Great Lakes.  from Yahoo Group "Houseboatbuilding"Every moment of every day, he lives on pure water.  He has more water than he can drink in 100 life times.  He drinks as he will and serves the owner of the lake with joy and abandon.

Religion is much like the first man.  It is held captive by man and set on a perch for certain times of ritual need.  But religion is not pure service to the Lord of Life.  And as foolish and sickening as this man’s ritual sipping might appear, so the man without a love for God’s will appears foolish and sickening before the Most High God.

You can do anything you want in this life.  God has allowed man to chase after anything he wants for now.  But only those who render service to their creator through the blood of Jesus will receive that “Well done”.

The Woodpecker

A male Downy Woodpecker, in Poquott, Long Isla...

I was sitting on the porch yesterday morning.  Listening to the pecking of a Woodpecker.  How marvelous that he can pound his face into wood time and time again, and still have a brain left.  I thought about him a while, then something dawned in my meager mind.  Everything created is a shadow of what is to come.  And nothing was ever created that didn’t have something to do with the story of Jesus.  So what about Jesus has to do with a Woodpecker??????

The bird pounds into the hard wood looking for a reward for his efforts, bugs.  The Lord of Life speaks to man and urges him to overcome sin, much like this bird pounds against the hard wood.  Man’s hard heart yields the same resistance, most of the time.  The reward of obedient faith is there, under the surface.  But to get to it, the Lord needs to destroy the surface.

The Evloution of Response.

tongue lashing (crop)

When I first began to respond to anti-Christian blogs I would attack what was being presented.  I guess I saw their words as the enemy.  But two things have happened, through the course of dealing with such words.  The most important and transforming experience in these proceedings was the Holy Spirit of God speaking through me.  We are told the following:   11 “When you are brought before synagogues, rulers and authorities, do not worry about how you will defend yourselves or what you will say, 12 for the Holy Spirit will teach you at that time what you should say.” (from Luke 12)

Who are the synagogue rulers and authorities of satan’s push against Christ?  It happens to be anyone who will come against Jesus’ people in word or in deed.  So I watch what get’s typed in the responses I present.  They became far less antagonistic and far less full of me.  God does speak through His people.  You don’t feel it as a force pouring through your body.  He simply transforms your mind to understand the implications of what was presented.  So I start typing and just allow the mind to relax.  God is in control.

The second transforming experience holds an equal amount of power.  I’ve become to see these people as simply a mouth piece of the one who has stood against the Lord from the beginning.  They are not the enemy.  And their words are addressed by the Lord through me.  What is left to me is to recognize that I was once one of them.  I used to demean everything holy.  I was a trash heap of ruin in a corrupt body of flesh.  Running around just looking for a fight.

So when you deal with folk who seem to stand against you, try to remember who’s ultimately in charge.  They are going to die just like you’re gonna die.  The body wears out and accidents happen.  The major difference between the Christian and the man or woman without Jesus is the presence of the Holy Spirit.  He is the power of God’s Son set as a seal for those who God is in the process of redeeming.  In all things we rest knowing that we are His.

I Hope He’s With God Now.

This thought has been posted before.  I can’t remember where or how long ago.  But it’s a thought which bears repeating a thousand times anyway.

It is not appropriate for us to leave doubt in the minds of people as to our salvation.  When someone dies, we often will hear, “I hope he’s in heaven now”.  I am constantly struck by the importance of our witness in this regard.  Wouldn’t it be better for everyone who knew you to be able to say, “I know he’s with the Lord now.  Because everything about that man dripped Jesus.”

What shall be our witness?  Consider what the Lord said in regard to this: “Make every effort to enter through the narrow door, because many, I tell you, will try to enter and will not be able to.” (Luke 13:24)  Salvation is not simply asking God to save you through Jesus.  If that were so we would see Christians and churches filled to over flowing with horrible examples of the transforming power of Christ.  Oh.  Wait, isn’t this the current state of affairs in America?  Sorry to have offended the majority.

Strive to leave a legacy of God’s work in you.  Of all the things you can leave behind, holy living should be our utmost concern.

By His Grace.
